My son broke his toe playing soccer, the service was fast, no wait line on a Sunday afternoon, the registration staff was friendly and welcoming ... X-ray technician was super nice and understood his pain on his toe and recommended for him to use a wheelchair to take him to get the X-rays. It seems like Advocate Aurora likes you outsource people's personal information and procedures to a third party company like Integrated Imaging Consultants. Be wary that if you ever get an ultrasound or x-ray done, you'll get an email or phone call from that group. For some reason you'll get charged twice for the same exact service. This review is for my doctor Dr. Drynan. I've had a difficult time finding a PCP that I like. One that listens, does not rush you, goes over your medical history and has a good bed side manner. I finally found my doctor. Dr. Drynan is very thorough, every time I've reached out to her office I have had a quick response and I can schedule an appointment online or by calling. I love that I can contact her via the app too if I have questions or concerns. She is located in the outpatient center which is convenient if I need labs because it's all in the same place. I highly recommend Dr. Drynan. There are not many doctors left who actually take their time with patients. read more

Today I took my 6 month daughter to get shots.2hours when we left we got a call that one of the staff accidentally poked herself with the needle. after she gave my daughter her shots.They wanted to get blood drawn from my daughter for there staff safety to see if my baby doesn't have HIV or anything. We went in and it was a different department that doesn't know how to handle baby's they were very aggressive. They didn't get enough blood so they had to poke her on the other arm. Then they were done I wanted to get out of there asap. When I was about to walk out the assistant said they still didn't get a Enough blood. I told her well that sucks. Then the assistant gave me a harsh attitude and said hey.. I'm just telling you so your going to get another call for more blood and gave me a big smile and said have a great day. So after that horrible experience. After trying to help there staff so she can still work. AND not even an apology when I walk in or when I walked out ..F*** that. My general practitioner (who I am planning to change because of this last visit) did not give me a thorough wellness check this summer. I explained to the nurse and to the doctor that in the past months my knee was making a crunching sound and felt a bit stiffer (not really painful, though) and I was asking for advice (e.g. see another department, treatment, testing etc.). My GP doctor did not even examine my knee (actually, I didn't even disrobe for my yearly check-up) and told me to foam roll more. That was it. I was taken aback by the dismissive attitude and overall "Meh, your concern isn't a big deal. You're fine." To be clear, I am a healthy, active person in their 30s, who regularly works out, so perhaps it is nothing major, but I still want my doctor to actually care, maybe examine that body part, and give me more options and information than say Google or WebMD. (My gynecologist (who I saw a week later in the Oswego office and absolutely love -- she is super friendly and thorough!) was more engaged in my knee concern and gave me actual advice.) Overall, Dreyer as system seems to be ingrained in the very problematic and unethical "for profit" way to treat. Herd patients through with minimal post-visit communication. I believe healthcare is a human right, and everyone should have access to AFFORDABLE, ACCESSIBLE, and COMPREHENSIVE healthcare. Basically, I am disappointed (especially with the Advocate takeover). There are many other hard working, smart nurses, doctors, and staff members at Dreyer (such as my Oswego gynecologist), yet a for-profit system really only works for those at the very top, not the actual patient who needs treatment. A healthy population should be one of the main goals of a HEALTHCARE company, not how much money the shareholders will make this quarter. read more

The staff is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING !!!!! from the person outside asking you questions to the dr to the X-ray person!!!!! Treated us with respect and dignity as it should be!!!! When I went to Dreyer's walk-in clinic in early November, the intake nurse was very congenial and thorough. She listened and took many notes regarding my history of sinus infections and effective and ineffective treatments I have experienced. After a short wait, Dr. Abrams entered. Upon entering, he asked what brought me there. I said I have a sinus infection. He responded, "Thank you for diagnosing it for me." I told him the same things I told the nurse about past antibiotics and their effectiveness, adding Augmentin is the only one that has ever worked for me. He replied, "Take off one of your twelve layers so I can listen to your breathing." I only had my down vest on and a light coat over it. I removed both. I had told him I did not have a cough. His exam showed that. He went to his computer and typed while asking me which pharmacy I would like. I drove to the pharmacy and was handed a prescription for cephalexin. I questioned the prescription and was assured it was the doctor's order. I took it for two days as the infection worsened and became bloody. I researched and found this, "Cephalexin isn't recommended for sinus infections." I also found Augmentin is the most effective and commonly prescribed antibiotic for treating sinus infections. All I know is it has always worked for me. I communicated that but apparently Dr. Abrams resented me telling what I know about my own body. What audacity that I would dare tell a doctor what drug works best for me! That was the worst sinus infection I have ever had, more severe and long-lasting than any prior. And it was needless. Why? Because Dr. Abraham's thought he knew my body chemistry better in five minutes than I do after almost 50 years. Two more days passed before I called and another doctor graciously changed the order to Augmentin so healing could begin. The best consequence for Dr, Abrams would be to have to teach over 70 students every day for a month with a raging sinus infection and see how it felt. read more

I have now had two appointments that ran excessively late. This second appointment in Psychiatry was over an hour late, at no point did anyone in the staff decide it might be a good idea to update those who checked in for an appointment. I understand things happen, why is it SO hard to communicate? All of this for a med refill...a med I've been on for over 5 years! I changed my provider and demanded my refill. I've been a Dryer patient since 2008. The quality of service has declined substantially over the last few years. They over treat, which results in more bills, they are difficult to communicate with, and all of my doctors are leaving. It is so stressful having to find a new doctor. I'm done. They billed me $70 for a charge that the Billing rep admitted was "not chargeable to insurance and the insured is not legally obligated to pay." Dreyer has an Immediate Care Facility, however if you go there you will be billed for an office visit. It made a huge difference to me as my insurance covers Immediate care at 100%, with no deductible. I was told by Dreyer that, by law, they are only allowed to bill for office visits and nothing is coded as immedicate care, even though they advertise Immediate care as one of their services. This was very deceiving for me when I had an emergency and went there thinking insurance would cover it completely and I had to pay for the office visit and satisfy my deductible. read more

I have been going to Dreyer for over 30 years. Since Advocate took over patient care has gone downhill. If you want to make an appointment you better be prepared to be on hold for 20+ minutes. If you need a call back don't wait by the phone because the odds of getting that call is slim. I waited for two days to hear back about the next steps I needed to take in response to a test result. I finally called them back. After an 18 minute hold I was told the nurse's line was busy so they would call me back. We will see if I get a call. I have already switched two of my doctors out of Advocate and I will looking for a new primary. I know several doctors have left because Adocate cares about money not patients, which is obvious. read more

Doctors are fine by support services and admin are very poor. They don't follow up, don't return calls, etc. Problems can only be reported via a voice mail message line with a response after 24 hours. That's how they handle things that are messed up, even when urgent. I have a long experience with them and this has been a consistent issue. read more
