Not my thing at all. But still a great experience. Handy if you're at Nationwide Arena. Kid K wanted to stop in and see if they had Pokemon cards. They do, and while it's almost entirely sports cards they had a fair number of Pokemon, and a few other non-athletic things. It's downstairs, and is a cool space with card displays, tables to play at, a bar, places to stand and eat (I think the only food I saw was brought in,) at least one private room for parties etc., and more. Busy and crowded when we went on a weekday evening, but not hard to get around in. Some file drawers with individual cards, a bin by the exit with free packs, some clothing, toys, etc. Again, it's not my scene, but I was impressed. If you are at all into sports, or collectibles, you will probably love it. Prices seemed high but I really have no background for comparison. I remember my college roommate trying to sell me a card. He said "it's worth $20 but I'll sell it to you for $10." I said "it's not worth anything at all to me since I don't want it..." Seriously, though. Selection was huge. Staff were great. The kid had fun. Lots of (mostly young) adults were there having fun. Heck, I even had fun. And it was air-conditioned on a stifling day. Score. read more

This is a one of a kind card shop. Came to Ohio from Louisiana on a business trip and decided to stop in. Man was I in for an awakening! Huge selection of all TCGs. Made the mistake of buying something here. It's one of those companies where they put you on their mailing list whether you want it or not. You can ask to be removed, 50 times if you want, and they will not take your email off. Got numerous emails "okay, we're going to remove you." "We're working on it!" "Getting you removed!" You know how you remove someone from your list? You go into your list and take their email out. I didn't ask to be put on their list. But they will not remove me. Beware of people like this. They are of the concept that "he doesn't really want to be removed, we'll spam him with our junk mail he'll give in and buy from us!" If they can't do something like remove you from their list, what other unethical stunts will they pull? Please keep this in mind. They should not be putting someone on their spam list they did not ask, and they should be removing people who repeatedly ask to be taken off. They refuse. Please be careful. There are tons of great online hobby shops out there who ARE ethical (Queen City sports, DACA, Giant sports cards to name a few). read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I had a sports card business about 6 months ago. I ordered a case from Midwest Cards in mid January 24' that was supposed to be released in February. We are now mid June (5 months) and still no product. I'm no longer in the card business. The price has gone done almost 20% on this specific product everywhere (BEFORE RELEASE). I requested to simply cancel the order and received a very cold response saying they won't cancel. I then asked for a refund on the difference in price as it's been 5 months since I ordered and everyone is selling it for way cheaper. They also said no - they told me I don't spend enough with them to get the "PERK" of selling to me at a fair price (vs how much they tried over charging everyone early on). I asked again for them to work with me as I DO NOT WANT the product that has still not released anywhere, I'm no longer in the business, and the price is clearly gauging. I've had no choice but to file a chargeback with my credit card and leave this review. The experience with Midwest has been by far the worst experience I've had with any seller of sports cards. I came across this shop (website) while looking for the Topps Update Sets (baseball) and I was able to pre-order the sets that I wanted. I found their prices to be lower than most of the sites that I visited and the communication (both email and texts) kept me informed of Topps delays and shipping status for my purchases. The shipping company that was used kept me well informed of the location and delivery date of my cards and I was able to be home so that the cards did not get left and bake in the hot sun outside. If I was closer I would certainly make this a place to visit on a regular basis as it is right now I visit the website regularly looking for more pre-order products. read more

Now, if you've been in the Hobby long enough (longer than three months), you've probably learned the hard way that when something seems too good to be true, it usually is; scammers are everywhere, and we have to stay on guard. And since no one I knew had ordered from Midwest before, I noted the prices and moved on. Then, a couple weeks back, a middleman I know (they get cards through allocation and sell to breakers) mentioned that they'd sourced cases from Midwest before and never had a problem. That was enough of a vouch for me. Since then, I've placed two orders: The first went off without a hitch and arrived at my door within a few short days; the second is going smoothly, with the turnaround time a tick slower than before.
