Lots of places don't have time slots that work for 9-5ers like myself. Anyway, parking can be a bit challenging in that area near the beach, but I found a spot close by. I was warmly greeted at the door. The lobby area has a large wall of products for sale. Also, there was cute artsy jewelry to look through. There is also a relaxing lounge to wait in, but I didn't have to wait at all. They were ready for me, even though I was a few minutes early. I don't remember the name of the person who gave me the facial, but she was great. She asked me a few questions about my skin. She also made some simple conversation in the beginning, but then was quiet so I could relax. I really liked the different masks and products they used. I felt like my skin was soft and hydrated at the end. The stuff smelled great too! I also like that I didn't feel pressured to get additional treatments or to buy anything in the end. The only thing that was a bit disappointing is that from the questions asked, I didn't really feel like they reviewed that questionnaire that you fill out before I come in. I believed the new owners were using the extra funds to upgrade the spa, buy new equipment and pay employees better, at least according to their emails. Sadly, there's been a rapid decline in the business. The spa now looks dingy and neglected, and there's a foul odor throughout. The quality of facial and massage services dropped so much due to the constant turnover that I had to stop coming altogether. I had been seeing Chelsea Bowman and the master facialist Ami Sheneman for years. Both left, and no one contacted me to let me know I wouldn't be seeing them for my next appointment. I only found out when I showed up and discovered I'd be seeing someone else. The new girl Kendall, bless her heart--she tried her best, but it just wasn't the same. On top of it when I asked the girls at the desk where Chelsea and Ami went, each time they looked scared and uncomfortable answering. For anyone wondering where Ami went: I found her! She's now at Pier to Point down the street at the other end of Voltaire. I've already been there and signed up for multiple memberships. I highly recommend you do the same. My intention was to share my honest disappointment about the recent changes and lack of transparency when my preferred practitioners left, which significantly impacted my experience. I understand privacy policies, but as a loyal client, I felt it would have been more considerate to inform me prior to my appointment that my practitioners would no longer be there, enabling me to make the decision if I wanted to see someone new or not. This would have allowed me to cancel, so I could continue my services with the professionals I had established trust with. The check-in / waiting areas included a random chair for hair service and a small area for pedicures. The lady at the desk was friendly and showed me to the locker room. I was provided a robe and while it was clean, I instantly thought this looks super old and well used. I sat in the relaxation room, that more felt like a Dr waiting room other than the relaxing music and fresh fruit available. My massage therapist was very friendly and asked me questions regarding injuries, allergies, focus areas, and pressure prior to starting. I had the 50 min drift full body massage and I felt it was just ok. I've tried out quite a few spas in the area and I've had better experiences elsewhere. I also thought it was very pricey for a 50 min massage ($204 with gratuity already included) when I've had better massages in the area at the normal 60 min time for less money. I did enjoy the small jacuzzi after my massage and I was lucky enough that I was the only one there because the area is quite small. The grounds are very pretty, but overall there are other resort spas I would recommend instead.

This place is great because although they are called a foot massage you really do get your whole body massaged. Everything from the temple of the head to the soles of the foot are massaged and leaves you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. I asked for a male so depending on ones comfortability feel free to ask for a specific gender as this place was willing to honor my request which I appreciate. They certainly take walk-ins but I do still recommend calling ahead to get a feel for wait time and who's available. Overall, I had a good experience here and would definitely come back.

Whenever I've been back in San Diego temporarily, I've wanted to book something like a toner, brunette balayage, or just something subtle to add dimension to my naturally dark hair. I've consulted with her several times over the phone and through text about what I could do, but unfortunately our schedules just haven't lined up. Since I don't live in San Diego anymore and am usually only there for a few days at a time for work, scheduling a longer hair appointment can be really difficult. Through all of that, Jasmine has been SO patient and understanding with me. I've gone back and forth with her about appointments and ideas more than once without actually being able to make the timing work, and she has never made me feel bad or like I was wasting her time. Some stylists can get frustrated when you're asking questions or can't immediately commit to an appointment, but Jasmine has always remained kind, helpful, and understanding of the fact that I'm constantly going back and forth between San Jose and San Diego. I really appreciate that about her. I genuinely hope I can make the timing work soon because I would absolutely trust her with my hair again, especially for color. I would love to eventually have her do a brunette balayage or highlights and add some dimension while still keeping my hair healthy. When I entered, there was only one person working, as it was a small but cute space. They had a lot of skin care products displayed, and the waiting area looked comfortable. I was a few minutes early, but she was able to get me started right away. I thought the person who provided my service was very nice and acted professionally. Unfortunately, I thought the quality of the service was a bit lacking. She looked at my skin and said that I needed an enzyme mask, which was fine. I go to get facials so that someone else can take care of me and use their expertise. Anyway, she first did extractions. I counted and she did four... only four. I thought is was strange for a spa that states that they specialize in acne, and I had said that I wanted help with oily skin. Then she put the enzyme mask on and left for about 20 minutes. After that, she returned and did an arm and shoulder massage. It was very relaxing However, I really didn't want to come for a massage, I came for a facial. All in all, I felt that the hour -long service did not include a lot of skin treatment. The place was cute and comfortable, the experience was relaxing, but I don't feel I got much in return for the $115 price tag. I was hoping for more of a skin care experience.
