    Midtown Park, Charlotte

This mini park is very cute. Great shots of the Uptown skyline but it's also a super spot to get your glamour shots. Pretty, well-landscaped including a "putting-quality" grass. You can't miss the "mirror ball" that looks like Chicago's "Bean" but is much smaller. Park over at the Metropolitan shopping center (Trader Joe's, Best Buy, etc.) and walk over here. The park is also accessible from the Little Sugar Creek Greenway. [Review 12572 overall, 2364 of 2019.]

Amazing! It is a gem in the middle of Midtown Plaza. Very well kept and pet-friendly. We liked it a lot!!

Really nice landscaping of this park. I ended up parking at the Metropolitan shopping center, but the walk to the park was across the street. It was also free, so you can take your time wandering around. What I loved about this park is there are different areas with diverse features throughout this elongated park. Great for strolls or jogging. There are areas with benches, large lawns, a waterfall, and even a public restroom (I didn't look inside, but the exterior looks modern and new). There's also not a lot of traffic zooming around and there weren't a whole lot of people on the trails. I think the only downside was that the creek had a lot of trash caught in it. There needs to be a clean up, but more emphasis on caring for local park spaces. It's sad to see all the pollution since it was such a nice place otherwise. I hope people really appreciate having this beautiful park within the city.

Very nice park. Lush green lawn is perfect for playing. I take family photos here often!

I love this park! It's very convenient to the Metropolitan and Uptown. Great place to walk or bike ride along the Little Sugar Creek. Not sure where the Sugar Creek Greenway ends and Midtown Park begins but it is all nicely integrated. I love the great lawn, the sculptures, and the trellis walkway. Beautiful place to take photos. So photogenic!

Ran into this park by starting my route at Elizabeth park, kind of cool how there are many areas for picnics or casual socializing , but no one utilizes this calm, beautiful space. If this was in DC or NYC the area would be packed. I would like to see chess players , kids running, friends enjoying the grassy knolls here, maybe when it's a little cooler?

Midtown Park was so beautiful and I loved taking pictures there!!!

This is a fairly inconspicuous stop along the Little Sugar Creek Greenway, but you really ought to stop and give it a look!

The McGill Rose Garden absolutely delivered on that. This is truly a beautiful venue--lush flowers everywhere, winding walk paths, and plenty of places to sit quietly and just take it all in. It's the kind of space where you can slow down, clear your head, and quite literally stop and smell the roses. I found it to be a wonderful spot for reflection, a casual stroll, or simply enjoying nature without needing to leave the city. One of the things I especially appreciated is that you can enhance the experience with a visit to the wine bar onsite, Rosie's Wine Garden, where you can grab a coffee, cocktail, or glass of wine and then wander the grounds at your own pace. It adds a relaxed, almost European feel to the whole experience. A quick heads-up: parking can be a bit tricky, as the entrance is off a busy street, so just take your time and be patient when pulling in. Once you're there, though, it's well worth the effort. Bottom line: If you're looking for a small but charming botanical-style garden in Charlotte--a quiet place to reset, reflect, and enjoy the outdoors--this is a lovely little gem. For me, it checked all the boxes and has become a welcome respite in the middle of a busy day.

Rosie's Coffee and Wine is adjacent and service there was super friendly and fast. There is indoor seating there, but the gardens have little twists and turns and different areas to sit, too. There's a great gated parking lot that allows families and visitors to park and get to the playground, there's also the pool (closed in the winter time) but I basically came here in search of an outdoor stair workout. Not only does the greenway come through the park, but there's a big elevation difference that allows for some gorgeous city views! The park also has some nice business neighbors like the Hobbyist and a Pho place, really nice way to start a Saturday is to workout, and then grab a coffee from the Hobbyist. I'm curious how booked up the event space is for the park since the back of the building is all glass and looks out to the gorgeous city skyline.

The feature that stands out the most is the Spirit of Mecklenburg statue near the entrance. However, once you enter, there are more good sights to be had. There is actually a small stream that runs through it and a tunnel under a bridge. The walking paths are pleasant and let you enjoy a bit of nature while being in the city. It was relaxing too as it very empty too and I had the place to myself.

Public parks and open spaces are invaluable to any major city and Charlotte, NC is no different. As such, I arrived here with my friend at about 4:00pm after having a late lunch. We opted to hang out in the parking lot after parking for a few minutes to decide on what to do before heading south. We estimated spending about an hour here, as we walked thru the park, enjoying ourselves in the open spaces, and found a homeless guy panhandling. We also found a Target store on one edge of the park. We were shocked that there was a Target store, but then again, we both were strangers to this city. With that said, we ended up shopping at the Target and then walked thru Elizabeth Park again with our purchase, so we could remember where the car was. I enjoyed the vegetation and flora that is encouraging all around the park. The walking paths are nice and I saw a few people running on it while I was there. Elizabeth Park seemed smaller than I thought it was, but after noticing the tunnel, who knows how bigger the park really is. For the most part though, Elizabeth Park is good for the community of downtown Charlotte NC, but best bet is to come during the day to enjoy yourselves but be wary of coming here late at night. The overall experience here at Elizabeth Park here in downtown Charlotte, NC was pretty good. The fresh air and wide open spaces really is what I needed after being cooped up in an airplane for 10 hours from Honolulu to Houston to Charlotte on United Airlines. The only issue was the homeless dude sitting in the park. He didn't say anything to me and my friend, but just being there altered my experience here At Elizabeth Park. At least the park itself was maintained by the good folks with the city of Charlotte and it was beautiful piece of soul like a work of art continually in progress. My friend and I walked a bit on the paths and underneath the tunnel, but we didn't know how much more park there was if we decided to lap the entire circumference of the park. I enjoyed walking around here At Elizabeth Park while playing Pokémon Go along with my friend and hope to return here again. Although the homeless guy didn't bother us during my time here, it was a little bit more disappointing that happened. I guess with Charlotte being a major city and all, you can't avoid them. Still, it was a nice time here At Elizabeth Park before we Had to go. I'd recommend coming here for A nice respite from the road trip or just from the hard day at the office. The open space that public parks provides is always amazing. Elizabeth Park here in Charlotte, North Carolina is located at 101 Kings Drive in the downtown district. Like all public parks and public spaces, there is no admission fees, which is already awesome and amazing! There is limited parking here, so Best bet would be to get here early to find an awesome parking spot. As far as local public bus routes are concerned, I wouldn't know but please consult the Charlotte public transportation online and choose which routes are appropriate for your trip here to Elizabeth park. Best to Come here early morning or early evening to decompress and enjoy nature. It's quite nice when nature is there to listen to your problems. I enjoyed listening to Mother Nature here and hopefully you will too. 5.0 stars for the overall experience. Support local! A+
