The hydrangeas were putting on quite a show during my visit, and I loved discovering the sculptures and learning about the stories behind them. There's something special about hearing water flowing while surrounded by the Charlotte skyline. Kinda finding itself sandwiched between office buildings, I can see this place being a great "get away from work" lunch escape. One of the cooler features about the green, at least to me was their many mile markers that show arrows pointing to (insert city), with the approximate number of miles to get there and in what direction you can go. These little posts are littered all over the park and are impossible to ignore. There are several statues like the three large fish that kids seemed to love and the book statues as well. It's just a really nice place to find yourself on a warm and dry day. Natural shade from all of the trees, there's a large amount of landscaping around for sitting, or you can just have a seat on the well manicured grass. Not the largest park, but it is a little squirt of outdoor happiness between business as usual. There are no restrooms here, but there are trash cans about for that time when you'd like to have a snack in the shade and need to toss your food wrappers. I had no expectations for this park, and truly didn't know it existed, but because it hit the spot AND was such a nice break from all of the downtown-ness, it's easily 5 stars for me. Would I plan an entire trip to charlotte around it? Nah...it's not that kind of park. But while you're there, you will enjoy it no doubt!

Friends and I were in the area for brunch and decided to walk off a few calories before we headed out. We stumbled upon this park and figured it was a sign. Time to explore! The first thing I noticed was how clean the park was. I didn't see a single piece of trash while I was walking around. Next, it was pretty cool to see gym equipment on turf located along the side of the park. I've only seen this in towns along the coast. Very cool! I also enjoyed the fountain and my friends and I used it as a fun photo op. If your back is facing the fountain you can get a really good view of the city. Lastly, the place was landscaped really well and had tons of beautiful flowers. If you have time to talk a stroll and you're nearby, give it a gander.

We thought this park looked pretty cool, so we drove over, parked on the road and walked around. It was a nice day and lots of other people were out. We walked around the lake and checked out some of the features like bridges, streams, bridges and an amphitheatre. There was also a playground nearby. This is one of the most beautiful parks I've had the pleasure of visiting. There are beautiful views, playgrounds and lawn space for children's play, plenty of parking, trails for walking/bike riding, several bridges, and large trees to compliment the fields. The park is well-kept as everyone here ensures cleanliness and top maintenance. As my dad and I sat down on the bench and soaked in our surroundings, we observed a plethora of activity which included some people flying drones, kids competing in the playground's obstacle course, elderly folks walking, dogs running amok, people racing toy cars, and a few people cycling. The positive energy and vibes were radiant. I'm glad we stopped by here. Definitely worth a visit in Charlotte!

It's like a personal garden with scattered benches and paths and tables. There's a ton of shade and a variety of plants to admire. Besides the pesky mosquitoes, I ADORE this place. There was a lot of construction going on and the nature trail was closed, but there was still a nice route through residential streets and paved space. The traffic might be slightly overwhelming for home owners, but everyone was there for the physical activity and having a good time. I live near the Brandywine Road part of the Greenway. I simply walk out my condo door and presto! I'm there. It's a quiet, leisurely stroll with joggers, kids in strollers, while others are biking or walking their dogs. Wonderful. Feeling the allure of nature even within an urban setting? Pegs the needle to "10" on my "Give 'em a whirl" meter. Relax here.

Behind the park is a beautiful waterfall. The photographer was able to use 6 different backgrounds, including the waterfall. Other couples were taking pictures there as well but when we first came it was just two. When we left it was about 7. Plenty of space though that everyone was still able to get great shots. It's on a very busy corner but faces Kings Dr. Free parking in the metropolitan garage, easy walk regardless of the construction that gets in the way. Across the street there's parking but also towing signs. Lots of people were taking a chance though. Caddy corner from the park is a shopping plaza with a few restaurants, stores etc. After we finished with the pictures I enjoyed shopping in Marshalls in the garage.

Yes the greenway is in west Charlotte, but once the city plan furthers itself, most of the greenways will be connected which will be nice- since the city can be pretty treacherous on the roads with vehicles that don't like to share. Like most other greenways, there are benches... places to stop and also places to walk pets. I didn't see many baggie stations, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time to install once it becomes more popular. Part of the trailhead will get you on stuart creek and connect you to Blue Blaze. Great way to experience Wesley heights and take in a local brewery!

Public parks and open spaces are invaluable to any major city and Charlotte, NC is no different. As such, I arrived here with my friend at about 4:00pm after having a late lunch. We opted to hang out in the parking lot after parking for a few minutes to decide on what to do before heading south. We estimated spending about an hour here, as we walked thru the park, enjoying ourselves in the open spaces, and found a homeless guy panhandling. We also found a Target store on one edge of the park. We were shocked that there was a Target store, but then again, we both were strangers to this city. With that said, we ended up shopping at the Target and then walked thru Elizabeth Park again with our purchase, so we could remember where the car was. I enjoyed the vegetation and flora that is encouraging all around the park. The walking paths are nice and I saw a few people running on it while I was there. Elizabeth Park seemed smaller than I thought it was, but after noticing the tunnel, who knows how bigger the park really is. For the most part though, Elizabeth Park is good for the community of downtown Charlotte NC, but best bet is to come during the day to enjoy yourselves but be wary of coming here late at night. The overall experience here at Elizabeth Park here in downtown Charlotte, NC was pretty good. The fresh air and wide open spaces really is what I needed after being cooped up in an airplane for 10 hours from Honolulu to Houston to Charlotte on United Airlines. The only issue was the homeless dude sitting in the park. He didn't say anything to me and my friend, but just being there altered my experience here At Elizabeth Park. At least the park itself was maintained by the good folks with the city of Charlotte and it was beautiful piece of soul like a work of art continually in progress. My friend and I walked a bit on the paths and underneath the tunnel, but we didn't know how much more park there was if we decided to lap the entire circumference of the park. I enjoyed walking around here At Elizabeth Park while playing Pokémon Go along with my friend and hope to return here again. Like all public parks and public spaces, there is no admission fees, which is already awesome and amazing! There is limited parking here, so Best bet would be to get here early to find an awesome parking spot. As far as local public bus routes are concerned, I wouldn't know but please consult the Charlotte public transportation online and choose which routes are appropriate for your trip here to Elizabeth park. Best to Come here early morning or early evening to decompress and enjoy nature. It's quite nice when nature is there to listen to your problems. The feature that stands out the most is the Spirit of Mecklenburg statue near the entrance. However, once you enter, there are more good sights to be had. There is actually a small stream that runs through it and a tunnel under a bridge. The walking paths are pleasant and let you enjoy a bit of nature while being in the city. It was relaxing too as it very empty too and I had the place to myself.
