This is one of the most beautiful parks I've had the pleasure of visiting. There are beautiful views, playgrounds and lawn space for children's play, plenty of parking, trails for walking/bike riding, several bridges, and large trees to compliment the fields. The park is well-kept as everyone here ensures cleanliness and top maintenance. As my dad and I sat down on the bench and soaked in our surroundings, we observed a plethora of activity which included some people flying drones, kids competing in the playground's obstacle course, elderly folks walking, dogs running amok, people racing toy cars, and a few people cycling. The positive energy and vibes were radiant. I'm glad we stopped by here. Definitely worth a visit in Charlotte!

The McGill Rose Garden absolutely delivered on that. This is truly a beautiful venue--lush flowers everywhere, winding walk paths, and plenty of places to sit quietly and just take it all in. I found it to be a wonderful spot for reflection, a casual stroll, or simply enjoying nature without needing to leave the city. One of the things I especially appreciated is that you can enhance the experience with a visit to the wine bar onsite, Rosie's Wine Garden, where you can grab a coffee, cocktail, or glass of wine and then wander the grounds at your own pace. It adds a relaxed, almost European feel to the whole experience. A quick heads-up: parking can be a bit tricky, as the entrance is off a busy street, so just take your time and be patient when pulling in. Once you're there, though, it's well worth the effort. I live near the Brandywine Road part of the Greenway. I simply walk out my condo door and presto! I'm there. Behind the park is a beautiful waterfall. The photographer was able to use 6 different backgrounds, including the waterfall. Other couples were taking pictures there as well but when we first came it was just two. When we left it was about 7. Plenty of space though that everyone was still able to get great shots. It's on a very busy corner but faces Kings Dr. Free parking in the metropolitan garage, easy walk regardless of the construction that gets in the way. Across the street there's parking but also towing signs. Lots of people were taking a chance though. Caddy corner from the park is a shopping plaza with a few restaurants, stores etc. After we finished with the pictures I enjoyed shopping in Marshalls in the garage.

Yes the greenway is in west Charlotte, but once the city plan furthers itself, most of the greenways will be connected which will be nice- since the city can be pretty treacherous on the roads with vehicles that don't like to share. Like most other greenways, there are benches... places to stop and also places to walk pets. I didn't see many baggie stations, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time to install once it becomes more popular. Part of the trailhead will get you on stuart creek and connect you to Blue Blaze. Great way to experience Wesley heights and take in a local brewery!

We opted to hang out in the parking lot after parking for a few minutes to decide on what to do before heading south. We estimated spending about an hour here, as we walked thru the park, enjoying ourselves in the open spaces, and found a homeless guy panhandling. We also found a Target store on one edge of the park. We were shocked that there was a Target store, but then again, we both were strangers to this city. With that said, we ended up shopping at the Target and then walked thru Elizabeth Park again with our purchase, so we could remember where the car was. I enjoyed the vegetation and flora that is encouraging all around the park. The walking paths are nice and I saw a few people running on it while I was there. Elizabeth Park seemed smaller than I thought it was, but after noticing the tunnel, who knows how bigger the park really is. For the most part though, Elizabeth Park is good for the community of downtown Charlotte NC, but best bet is to come during the day to enjoy yourselves but be wary of coming here late at night. The overall experience here at Elizabeth Park here in downtown Charlotte, NC was pretty good. The fresh air and wide open spaces really is what I needed after being cooped up in an airplane for 10 hours from Honolulu to Houston to Charlotte on United Airlines. The only issue was the homeless dude sitting in the park. He didn't say anything to me and my friend, but just being there altered my experience here At Elizabeth Park. At least the park itself was maintained by the good folks with the city of Charlotte and it was beautiful piece of soul like a work of art continually in progress. Like all public parks and public spaces, there is no admission fees, which is already awesome and amazing! There is limited parking here, so Best bet would be to get here early to find an awesome parking spot. As far as local public bus routes are concerned, I wouldn't know but please consult the Charlotte public transportation online and choose which routes are appropriate for your trip here to Elizabeth park. Best to Come here early morning or early evening to decompress and enjoy nature. It's quite nice when nature is there to listen to your problems.
