Of Charlotte's numerous downtown parks, I found this one wanting. Some rather sickly looking water was surrounded by an awful lot of concrete. There were a few trees and statues on the periphery, but it was awfully hot and there wasn't really a ton to do here, which is why there didn't seem to be many people doing anything.

In our quest to find outdoor locations to eat our takeout at during the pandemic, we decided to check out this park since it's close to the 7th Street Public Market where we got our food. It's a beautiful park. There's a nice pond and bridge which make for some great photos. There's a beautiful view of part of the Charlotte skyline. It's not a huge park, but it's nice to walk around. There aren't picnic tables, but there are some grass stairs that we sat on to eat. There's paid parking on the street. It was really quiet with not many people there when we were there on a Saturday. Check it out next time your uptown!

I had some errands in Uptown today and spotted this park on the map. It was a crystal clear sky and so I managed to find the most amazing view of the Uptown skyline from here. It's a lovely little park with a central lake and walkways around. Not much parking other than metered street parking but if you're already here and parked, absolutely enjoy this big spot! Beautiful, well maintained park in uptown Charlotte. Beautiful views of the skyline and enough places to sit and enjoy.

What a beautiful city park! Almost a mini-Central Parkesque feel to it with its foliaged landscape, integrated concrete bridges, man-made lakes, fountains, and partially obstructed views of uptown Clt's architecturally stunning skyline (the BoA tower is not visible, but the Duke Energy bldg is). The aesthetic of the park is pretty spectacular and the photo opps abound along w/enough green space to actually use this park as a park. Enjoyed my visit to this uptown gem.

Enjoyed our food from Pinky's grill.

Chilling out in this crazy time. Enjoy the fresh air . Picked up some food from Pinky's. There were a few trash items in the water but overall it was a clean park. We saw the MLK monument but did not see a Holocaust memorial as sated in google review.

Perhaps not a "destination" park, but a good place to stop by if you're on a longer walk or have business at the courthouse. The man-made water feature is pleasant, especially in the middle of concrete Uptown, and there are ducks and geese to watch if that fits your fancy. I like the park because it has not one, but two memorials: one for Martin Luther King and one for the Holocaust. Both these memorials really elevate the park's status, without them it's just a small park with some ducks, but they give it the chance to be a destination for quiet reflection. And quiet reflection you'll get because there's not too many people around! Parking is metered, which I think contributes to the low crowds. But if you're in Uptown for something else maybe take an extended walk over to Marshall Park.

    Nice view. Blue dyed water

Why is the water in the fountain dyed blue? Nice views. Lots of ducks. Good parky break from the city.

Such a cute park in downtown Charlotte, there are many locations are the park to get a full view of the city. There are plenty of ducks walking around and plenty of nature to look around and see. You should take a little walk around it you're ever in the area. It's all metered parking but they do accept debit.

Plenty of ducks and geese on the water.

It is near my office building and it's a great place to come for break, lunch, or just to get some fresh air.

The McGill Rose Garden absolutely delivered on that. This is truly a beautiful venue--lush flowers everywhere, winding walk paths, and plenty of places to sit quietly and just take it all in. It's the kind of space where you can slow down, clear your head, and quite literally stop and smell the roses. I found it to be a wonderful spot for reflection, a casual stroll, or simply enjoying nature without needing to leave the city. One of the things I especially appreciated is that you can enhance the experience with a visit to the wine bar onsite, Rosie's Wine Garden, where you can grab a coffee, cocktail, or glass of wine and then wander the grounds at your own pace. It adds a relaxed, almost European feel to the whole experience. A quick heads-up: parking can be a bit tricky, as the entrance is off a busy street, so just take your time and be patient when pulling in. Once you're there, though, it's well worth the effort. Bottom line: If you're looking for a small but charming botanical-style garden in Charlotte--a quiet place to reset, reflect, and enjoy the outdoors--this is a lovely little gem. For me, it checked all the boxes and has become a welcome respite in the middle of a busy day.

Rosie's Coffee and Wine is adjacent and service there was super friendly and fast. There is indoor seating there, but the gardens have little twists and turns and different areas to sit, too. There's a great gated parking lot that allows families and visitors to park and get to the playground, there's also the pool (closed in the winter time) but I basically came here in search of an outdoor stair workout. Not only does the greenway come through the park, but there's a big elevation difference that allows for some gorgeous city views! The park also has some nice business neighbors like the Hobbyist and a Pho place, really nice way to start a Saturday is to workout, and then grab a coffee from the Hobbyist. I'm curious how booked up the event space is for the park since the back of the building is all glass and looks out to the gorgeous city skyline.

The feature that stands out the most is the Spirit of Mecklenburg statue near the entrance. However, once you enter, there are more good sights to be had. Public parks and open spaces are invaluable to any major city and Charlotte, NC is no different. As such, I arrived here with my friend at about 4:00pm after having a late lunch. We opted to hang out in the parking lot after parking for a few minutes to decide on what to do before heading south. We estimated spending about an hour here, as we walked thru the park, enjoying ourselves in the open spaces, and found a homeless guy panhandling. We also found a Target store on one edge of the park. We were shocked that there was a Target store, but then again, we both were strangers to this city. With that said, we ended up shopping at the Target and then walked thru Elizabeth Park again with our purchase, so we could remember where the car was. I enjoyed the vegetation and flora that is encouraging all around the park. The walking paths are nice and I saw a few people running on it while I was there. Elizabeth Park seemed smaller than I thought it was, but after noticing the tunnel, who knows how bigger the park really is. For the most part though, Elizabeth Park is good for the community of downtown Charlotte NC, but best bet is to come during the day to enjoy yourselves but be wary of coming here late at night. The overall experience here at Elizabeth Park here in downtown Charlotte, NC was pretty good. The fresh air and wide open spaces really is what I needed after being cooped up in an airplane for 10 hours from Honolulu to Houston to Charlotte on United Airlines. The only issue was the homeless dude sitting in the park. He didn't say anything to me and my friend, but just being there altered my experience here At Elizabeth Park. At least the park itself was maintained by the good folks with the city of Charlotte and it was beautiful piece of soul like a work of art continually in progress. My friend and I walked a bit on the paths and underneath the tunnel, but we didn't know how much more park there was if we decided to lap the entire circumference of the park. I enjoyed walking around here At Elizabeth Park while playing Pokémon Go along with my friend and hope to return here again. Although the homeless guy didn't bother us during my time here, it was a little bit more disappointing that happened. I guess with Charlotte being a major city and all, you can't avoid them. Still, it was a nice time here At Elizabeth Park before we Had to go. I'd recommend coming here for A nice respite from the road trip or just from the hard day at the office. The open space that public parks provides is always amazing. Elizabeth Park here in Charlotte, North Carolina is located at 101 Kings Drive in the downtown district. Like all public parks and public spaces, there is no admission fees, which is already awesome and amazing! There is limited parking here, so Best bet would be to get here early to find an awesome parking spot. As far as local public bus routes are concerned, I wouldn't know but please consult the Charlotte public transportation online and choose which routes are appropriate for your trip here to Elizabeth park. Best to Come here early morning or early evening to decompress and enjoy nature. It's quite nice when nature is there to listen to your problems. I enjoyed listening to Mother Nature here and hopefully you will too. 5.0 stars for the overall experience. Support local! A+
