I went for a manicure and pedicure, and my husband went for a pedicure. Lynn did his pedicure- she was amazing. Annie did my services, and while she was very quick with the full set of nails, she also got annoyed when I asked her to file the nail a little more so they didn't look like I had a clubbed nail. She did everything so quickly that it seemed it was a bother for me to ask. I had to tell her to actually do the manicure, like not just put nails on my hand and not cut the dead skin. And then she used the file instead of clipping the dead skin. Like she hand filed and used the electric drill. Then when she went to do my pedicure- she started on the one foot and before I knew it she was on the other, and I looked down and I was like- what? I can still see the dead skin on my toes that she hadn't clipped, but I allowed her to continue with the lotion and whatever scrub. After I asked her to remove some more skin, she again got an attitude and started speaking in her language to Lynn, who was working on my husband. Lynn kind of leans over and looks down at my foot and Annie keeps talking and then laughing so I just said are you really just gonna start talking like that in front of me? She must not have heard me so she continues on and then finishes again quickly and I tell her "no I need you to remove the skin-like I can still see all the skin". And then she starts talking again to Lynn and I interrupt her and I asked her why she keeps talking to Lynn to the point where Lynn is looking over at my feet? And she says something about she doesn't wanna cut too much skin and she was saying that to her, so I told her if there was anything she needed to say about my services she needed to talk to me. Like why are you talking to her, say that to me. So then she started explaining and I told her it wasn't my first time having a pedicure and to go ahead and clip the skin. I was so annoyed! My husband actually loved the service and was like "this is where we're coming from now on, and I said I will never come back here again". And it wasn't our first time coming to the salon. With all the jokes on the Internet over the years and skits on Saturday Night Live about how foreigners start speaking in a different language when they're doing your manicure and/or pedicure, you would think people would know by now not to be so rude. Rude is rude. I don't care what country you come from. People know when they're being talked about, I don't care what language you're speaking in. Body language is the "tell". Thankfully, Lynn remained professional and didn't feed into Annie's nonsense. If we ever go back there again, and that's a big IF, I can promise you I'll let Annie know it's not happening today. UPDATE- one nail is already PEELING tonight!! They are using cheap gel polish- I have Gelish that I use at home but needed to get my nails done for my daughter's weddings since my natural nails broke off and this polish is TRASH--! We spent $180 for this service- NEVEF AGAIN--!!! IF I COULD LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW, I would!! And as one other client noted, the tech used her own nail to scrape polish off of mine. Like she kept digging into the corner of my nail bed to the point where it was uncomfortable. And then when she finished with my pedicure, she walked away, and I just sat there waiting for her to guide me over to where my polish would dry. A few minutes later, I asked her what was I supposed to be doing and she said "five minutes". So I assumed it was quick dry polish. She just needs to go silently into the night because she is too distracted and moves way too quick and cares way too little about the work she does or what the client wants. Nobody is gonna pay $200 for that trash, at least not from her. I don't care where it's located, there are much better salons than this. Their workers should be consistent in the quality should be consistent and they should be polite and courteous, and not be talking about their clients obviously right in front of their faces, as if we're idiots. I called and made an appointment same day service which the business opens at 0930 and I was able to get an appointment at 0945. Amazing! Katie was my nail technician and she was friendly. Very disappointed in my service today. I honestly contemplated even leaving a review. During my pedicure, I was cut twice by the "cheese grater" foot file. The cut on my left toe immediately bled, which was not a great impression as a first time customer. I have never been cut before during a pedicure. I do believe the technician was rushing, but he was apologetic after it happened. I really hope I do not get an infection, as they did not follow blood exposure procedure. I was told I would receive a discount after this happened. I did, but I was under the impression that it would be on top of the 20% off special the salon runs Mondays through Wednesday. Apparently, you have to make an appointment to receive the special. I could have missed it on the signage in the window, but I didn't see any stipulations listed on the sign. I received 20% off of my service in total, which was appreciated. The staff is very nice, but I was just disappointed with my experience today. read more

Definitely will not be coming back. I got Gel X nails and it took 4 tries for one of my fingers because he kept putting it on crooked. He also kept asking me if it was "good enough". My skin was also cut in the process and bleed. It has now been 24 hours and two of my nails fell off. I went back and got those two replaced, but the nail is pushed underneath my skin so far that it is swollen and painful. One of the fixed nails has a bubble and isn't even close to be smooth. This is a followup email to one I posted on Google back in December. Be weary of this nail salon as they are not organized nor do they communicate well when making appointments. I had the misfortune of having an appointment with Vinny who was extremely inappropriate during the time he was doing my fills. In addition, when I requested my appointment time I clearly stated that I would like someone who could provide nail art. While he was doing my nails not only did he cause my cuticles to bleed but he advised that the salon had other customers to service and that if I needed or wanted nail art to make an appointment on a day that was not a weekend. My appointment was at noon on a Friday. As a result of such terrible and rushed service I developed fungus on 5 of my nails. The salon is not clean and he did not properly seal my nails. My nail beds were green and extremely painful. To date I still can not even apply polish to my nails. My nails are brittle and are separating from my nail beds. Growth has also been slower than in the past. I have shown my nails as a result of midtown nails and prior to any services with their salon. read more

I did a walk in appt in Sept for dipnails. was thrilled to see the 20% off services on Monday- Wednesday. The tech was harsh in filing and handling my hands in general. My nails looked good though so I went to pay thinking I won't t use him again. Next bad part- apparently you have to make an appt to receive the 20% off- the sign VERY CLEARLY does not say that. No concession was made for this service but I was given a 10% off coupon for my next service. I went back 2 1/2 weeks later to remove the polish and get a manicure. The girl did not speak to me andI'm not sure she knew what she was doing. My nails, which are normally very strong are still splitting and breaking 3 weeks later. what several years ago was a nice nail salon now isn't worth the money. if you care about your nails and good customer service, go somewhere else. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I got a gel manicure and the gel started peeling off my nails 4 days later. I'm not talking about little chips near my cuticles or on the tips of my nails. I'm talking the ENTIRE polish peeling off at once. This place is also extremely unprofessional. I got an SNS manicure and pedicure here the day before yesterday. When I first started to get my pedicure she kept asking me if I wanted gel and I kept saying my no, then she said you don't have sandals you need to do gel so I finally gave in and got a gel pedicure. Then I get up to walk to get my SNS manicure and she gave me a pair of sandals to use.... after implying that they didn't have any so I'd pay $20 more for a gel pedicure. She finishes my SNS manicure (cut my nails way shorter than I wanted) and I leave. I had asked for matching colors and I noticed my nails are a noticeably different color than my toes. Hands down, the worst pedicure I've ever had; and that's saying a lot because I've been to several, several places in the area and elsewhere. My poor experience started with a 20 minute delay from my appointment time, despite only 2 customers being serviced upon my arrival, tons of empty chairs, and several available employees (that were socializing and on their phones). I could let go of the above if my nail service was actually good. The chair's massage feature did not work. The water was chilly, despite asking for it to be warmer. The nail tech rushed through every part of the process; the $50 basic pedicure lasted 20 minutes start to finish. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else! read more

It's true what they say... moved to review a place d/t an amazing vs awful experience, and mine was unfortunately the later. Had a guy who had only been working here a week, yet told me stories about how he didn't want to come in to work and asked for the day off. Was rushed, messy, and sloppy. Fastest gel manicure of my life, which would've been great, if it had been better service/experience! He didn't even clean under my nails and left multiple areas of gel on my surrounding skin which I had to clean off myself, and there was no lotion afterwards. Oof. read more

I've been twice and have been sorely disappointed both times. Got a pedicure today -- the basic is $38 and he was done in less than 20 mins, the technician was in such a hurry, he was splashing me with water the entire time, he did a horrible job painting, I had to call him back over afterwards once I took a closer look for him to finish painting several nails, and because he was in such a hurry, he dropped and broke a glass container on the floor and didn't clean up the tiny glass pieces. read more

I have been here twice and made appointments over the phone the day of with no issues. I would say its an acceptable place to go if you need to get your nails done and cant get an appointment anywhere else, as long as you don't go to Vinny. He continued to file my nails so hard that 4 of them started bleeding and his response was saying that this always happens and putting a solution on them that made my nails burn. My cuticles also bled, and look terrible close up. On top of that, he filed my nails down so much that they are uneven and one of my acrylics is on top of the nail next to it. They are super overpriced, and definitely overcharge. They don't do a good job by any nail salon standards. I got a pedicure that was supposed to come with some add ons and they definitely rushed through the whole thing and I repeatedly had to keep asking the guy to be gentle because he was hurting me with the file and cuticle clippers.. also kept turning the water to the hottest setting which I literally had to hold my feet above the water multiple times asking him to turn it down because it was way too hot. And then repeat x 4. He didn't massage AT ALL, and spilled water all over my leather shoes and didn't even attempt to at least dry them off.. they sat soaked the entire time and when I tried to mention my shoes were soaked he pretended to try and clean up the whole gallon of water he spilled all over my shoes and the lady's next to me. Also prices are nowhere online and in the salon.. not until you've already committed and halfway through they show you a booklet with crazy prices. By the end my skin was all red and raw from the rough filing, burning hot water, and over grating of my feet. He also didn't even clean up the sides of my polish, it was so messy. I'm usually pretty laid back, but this place just was awful. My polish color was uneven with the layers too so a few nails were more solid than others but it was too late because I had gotten gel and he rushed me up out of the seat and put everything away. I noticed they don't clean in between customers either.. zero stars if I could. My toes look so uneven and messy.. the amount of money you spend also depends on if you pay in cash or not. So they pretty much price everyone whatever they want to, and there's not a set amount to go by and look back on. Terrible service. read more

Wow is all I can say. I just got to town last night and was so excited to find a nail salon right outside of my new place. I went in asked if they had an opening and (here's the key), IF NOT, I would like to make an appointment. The guy at the front says, "yes, yes, we have an appointment for you. Pick a nail color." So, I was planning to do a regular mani/pedi. They put me in a chair, feet in water. For a half an hour I sat there (and that is real time, not exaggerated). Then, just when I was getting ready to say forget it and leave, a gal comes over and says oh I didn't know you were waiting and she was frazzled because she had people waiting for her who had just come in. At that point, she honestly should have just asked if I wanted to come back because what transpired next was just a rush of a pedicure that left me feeling like "why'd I bother". I mean, it was so rushed, I was out of the chair and plopped in a different spot with my toes by a fan in 20 minutes. I was waiting longer than the pedi took and she did not spend any time on the things a person expects with a pedi. I got the "Spa" pedicure. Not only was the pedicure lame, but she also tried to upsell me to a Lavendar (higher priced) pedicure. Because she was already rushing by the time the upsell came, the last thing I wanted was something higher priced. So, as she did my scrub and lotion in literally less than a minute, she says, if you get Lavendar next time, it's better, but Spa is just a quick pedicure. She sure wasn't lying about that. She kept looking over her shoulder at ladies waiting which I suspect were her appointments, so I get why she was rushing me, but it doesn't make it right. I skipped the manicure because once I saw the time/detail she was(n't) taking with the pedi, I wanted no part of spending additional funds there. It's unfortunate. The place looks nice and is set up well, but making people feel like the service they came in for is an inconvenience is no way to get repeat clients. 2 stars is for the glass of wine read more

He actually dumped trash in my bowl from a close trash can and wrapped the lining of the bowl while I was still sitting there drying during a pedicure. It was disgusting. It was my first time coming here. I wanted to have my acrylic set (done at another salon) removed and a basic mani. The technician was extremely rough with my nails. When she cut them down it was so short some of my nails started bleeding, and she kept drilling on top of my cuticles. So when I had to soak my nails in acetone my fingers were on fire. The mani was done poorly. My nails were filed unevenly and my cuticles were sloppy. To top off the unpleasant experience, the nail technician sitting next to her kept complaining to her over and over he couldn't stand the acetone smell while I was having my nails soaked. I'm sorry I'm just trying to get these acrylics removed?... I've been getting my nails done for a long time, and this is probably my worst experience. I've had acrylics taken off before, so I'm aware my nails are a little more brittle and thin than normal. I told the technician that, so I would expect them to consider that when doing my nails. I didn't have a pleasant experience with this particular technician. My disdain is not against the business as a whole, rather just with the tech and my experience with her. read more

I had been to Midtown years ago and was really unhappy with the work but for whatever reason ended up back here a few weeks ago for a full set. The only bright spot in the trip was the guy that did my nails - he was really friendly. But the actual work was really bad. I told him I wanted them kind of short but he cut them way too far down and filed them completely unevenly. The acrylic was not filed on the nail bed evenly either, making it really bumpy. The paint job was even worse, smeared, bumpy and all over my cuticles which he didn't bother to clean up. I was really disappointed with just about everything here, he was the only friendly person in the staff and the whole thing felt very rushed. Also, parking is a HUGE pain. I have always loved this place, it's been my go-to for nails. Yesterday I went to get a pedicure. The woman was just starting when all the sudden I felt a lot of pain. I looked down and she was clipping away an entire corner of my already short toenails. It was bleeding. I asked her to stop immediately, to which she replied sorry, it was ingrown. The woman was very nice but should know it was not ingrown, and the number one way to prevent ingrown toenails is to cut straight across and never cut too short. Now I am at risk of it becoming ingrown. I woke up today to a throbbing toe. Hoping for the best, but not feeling optimistic. This was sadly a waste of my time and money. The salon was empty when I came in. My entire pedicure took 20 minutes. I got the basic pedicure for $38. No oil on my cuticles. My nails were "buffed" with the nail file. The massage was maybe 60 seconds. I had to ask for my nails to be repainted before and after going to the dryer because it was not done well. I was put under the dryer so fast, the fan blew bubbles into the polish. For being in such a prime location you would think they would do a better job than this. I've been going to Midtown Nail Spa for four years now. I've always had Vinny do my nails and he exceeds my expectations every time. He takes his time and does an amazing job!! I am a nurse and wash my hands constantly and top of other things, and not once have I broken a nail (even while doing CPR) or has my polish faded or chipped. I've been to other places and have received subpar service, but that has never been the case here. The salon is spotless and the staff is welcoming. My special needs son always comes with me and Vinny is so kind to him, always making joking with him and making sure he is comfortable while waiting. read more

Was in town for the weekend and went to Midtown Nail Spa for a manicure with my mom, sister and niece. They started on my mom, sister and niece immediately. I waited 45 minutes, which I'm usually okay with. But there was always a few employees sitting around on their phones or waiting around. Very confusing. I was just about to say nevermind because my family was just about done, when they took me back to the table. The nail technician was extremely rough on my nails. I was bleeding on my one finger and kept saying "ow," as he aggressively filed and buffed my nails. He filed so much on the side of my nails, that some look crooked. I pointed the issue out to the technician, and he said the nail was still there and he would paint over it. Pretty sure he painted (powder) on my skin. He had antibiotic sitting at the table and put some on my finger. It was a really odd, rushed and uncomfortable experience.
