This was my second choice for a meal as I originally planned to go to another restaurant that was just way too busy and chaotic. This place wasn't very busy and the few tables occupied were all locals. There are numerous wait staff who mostly stand around waiting for customers to need something. It reminded me more of fine dining restaurants in that way. This meant that staff was actually attentive to your needs and check-in with their customers during meal which is unheard of from my experience in Spain. Olives are given as appetizer (gratis). I had Cubano sandwich and fries (tasty). Also, I was able to get ketchup (salsa de tomate) finally! Plates and glasses were removed immediately upon finishing course or drink. And I was brought a dessert menu without even asking for it. I didn't want dessert but this was literally the first time in over a month that I'd been offered dessert without asking.
Note: English speakers, the menu is in Spanish. I don't think any of the wait staff speaks much English. This isn't really a tourist area restaurant although there are some hotels in the area. But you'll be able to get by. My Spanish is limited but I can understand better than I can speak and had no problems.
Also, added bonus for me while visiting this restaurant. The racially diverse wait staff. As an black woman abroad in Spain, it was nice to see people who looked like me, my family and friends and just people I'd see everyday in my diverse LA neighborhood. read more
