Despite my initial hesitation, I am happy to report that not only is their cuisine unabashedly Southern, it's also freaking delicious. With inventive riffs on classic Southern fare, unparalleled quality / freshness, and phenomenal service, I can't recommend them enough, whether as a catering service or as a food truck.
Some highlights:
Charcuterie / 'Grazing table': custom, beautiful assortments of meat, cheeses, crackers, fresh fruit, and pickled veggies. Price can vary based on selections, but with the labor and presentation considered, it's a steal and I highly recommend this for anyone using them as a caterer.
Red-eye Wellington sandwich: perhaps the best thing I've eaten all year. Super flavorful and tender beef, topped with brie, on a fresh bun and some peppery baby greens. It's the most expensive thing on the food truck menu, but I would order it again and again.
Adam's rib: short rib wrapped in bacon and glazed with a sweet (fig?) reduction. It was beautifully cooked and melts in your mouth.
Fried bologna sandwich: thick cut HOUSE made bologna seared on a flat top. They had me at house made.
Nashville hot cauliflower: as a Nashville native, I had my doubts. Blasphemy was the first thing to come to mind, but any negative thoughts were quickly dispelled by the wonderful texture and approachable heat level. The owners may be from Carolina (ask for it Carolina style to get a added kick from some reapers), but I won't hate on them too hard for that.
Banana beignet pudding: as something that's not a beignet nor banana pudding, I was prepared to hate this, but again I was blown away. It's as if you took both dishes and combined them to create something even better than either of them ever could be alone. This has nearly ruined me for any other take on banana pudding.
If you want to try them out you can usually find them at Black Abbey Brewery on Sunday afternoon/evening. You'll probably see me there.
