I was given this move company by umovefree.com for my move on Monday February 9th. My movers (Damon and Curtis) were excellent. I've used many movers in the past and they were by far the best movers I've used, and I sincerely thank them for their helpfulness. They were courteous, professional, personable, punctual and very efficient. However, I had an item that did not make it into my new place. I called and spoke with Kika (co-owner) who did nothing but argue with me the first phone call I made to her. She told me that "it has to be at the pickup or dropoff". If it were either of those places I wouldn't have had to make the call. Not once did she apologize, sympathize or offer to make right of the situation...Anyone who knows anything about customer service knows these are basic rules. It's actually just common courtesy to treat other human beings with repsect. I've never in my entire life had a worse customer service experience than I had with her. She was more than unprofessional - she was down right rude and contemptuous (which appears to be a common theme looking at other reviews). By my 3rd call to the office Kika answered the phone again. She once again was very very very rude. I told her again that I felt my movers were amazing, and that my problem was not with them but with her. She argued and yelled for a total of 9 minutes. Again, not once offering to fix the problem. Maybe she was defensive of her employees, which I can completely understand, but she handled it so poorly. She put words in my mouth and stated that I accused her movers of stealing. That was an assumption that she made, not one that I said at any point. There are a number of things that could have happened to the item -- don't just jump to the conclusion that it was stolen, or that I'm suggesting it was stolen. Maybe it's happened before and that's why you jumped to that conclusion? Who knows? Bottom line : I still don't have my item and will be unlikely to get it in the future due to the lack of concern or helpfulness from the co-owner. She did FINALLY after about 8 minutes of a phone call (after I asked about them being insured) tell me that I could file a claim and be reimbursed 6 cents per pound...which doesn't go far for replacing a $200 and less than 5lb item. I DID sign the form stating my move was completed at the end of the move, but with 50+ boxes and furniture piled everywhere I didn't notice the one box missing. So, yes, that is my bad for signing that form without a more thorough inspection. One small box isn't something anyone would notice...in the future I guess I'll have to number items and take a personal inventory and check items off as I receive them (which is more than inconvienent I'd like to add). I didn't think that I had any reason to question the whereabouts of this particular item. I would like to add that the movers, while fantastic, did not mention to me that I could inspect the truck before they left. Had I known that was an option I would've done that. I didn't think it was my place to go snooping in a vehicle that wasn't mine. Not that this review will do any good, because Mrs. Terrible Attitude is co-owner of the company...so they clearly have the attitude that they can do whatever they want and treat people as badly as they want. Since I see that you guys read the reviews and even comment on them I have decided to attach these helpful customer service tips (since you're clearly in serious need of some lessons). The following tips here have always been very helpful for me! Just remember AIDET: *Acknowledge/ Apologize-- Greet people with a smile and use their names if you know them. ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING. Create a lasting impression. *Introduce -- Introduce yourself to others politely. Tell them who you are and how you are going to help them. *Duration -- Keep in touch to ease waiting times and estimated time of resolution. Let others know if there is a delay and how long it will be. Make it better and apply service recovery methods when necessary. Explanation/Empathize -- Advise others what you are doing, how procedures work and whom to contact if they need assistance. Communicate any steps they may need to take. Make words work. Talk, listen and learn. Make time to help. Thank You -- Thank somebody. Foster an attitude of gratitude. Thank people for their patronage, help or assistance. Use reward and recognition tools. "Thank you for choosing Midnight Hour Movers" is a good start. Ever heard the saying about customer service? IF you have a good experience you tell friend. If you have a terrible experience you tell 10 friends. It's very true. This is my first ever online review of anything, but you can trust that I will review your company in as many places as I can. I would really hate for anyone else to have the same awful experience I had. Midnight Hour Moving moved me on 7/3/2015 and I am extremely happy with their service. It began with the lady taking my reservation, Chelsea, being polite, patient, and knowledgeable. She answered all my questions, and called on 2 different days before my move to confirm my appointment; the first call I missed. The day of the move a gentlemen called, I believe his name was Eric, before the arrival window to let me know the movers would arrive in about 50 minutes, and I appreciated that greatly so I wasn't sitting around wondering if they would be arriving in the next 5 minutes for 2 hours. The movers arrived close to the time expected, Josh and George, and they were a pleasant surprise because my previous experience with movers is that they don't really pay attention to what is going on and are not careful with your things. The move began with myself showing Josh where my things were in a house where the owners were not moving, and Josh explained the process, the paperwork, and had me sign. I had some items going to an apartment and some items going into storage, and I told the guys what was going where and tried to have everything labeled for them to make it easier to remember. They quickly understood what I wanted, and if they were not sure where something was destined to go, then they asked me instead of assuming. None of the home owner's things got mistaken for mine by the movers. The guys were great at unloading what needed to be at the apartment, picked up a table to go into storage with my other things and we were off to the storage unit where they made quick work of unloading the truck. With Josh's 5 years of experience in the business he was able to pack my storage unit perfectly, exactly how I would have done it, but I didn't have to direct a thing. George was a newer member to the MHM team, but he and Josh worked really well together as a two man team! Their communication with one another was constant and free of ego, I was impressed and extremely pleased. My move was completed in 3.5 hours, including drive time, even though my belongings were scattered across a house, the apartment drop off was cramped, and the storage unit was the second stop in my move. I would absolutely call Midnight Hour again, and specifically request Josh and George. I could not imagine better movers. read more

The worst move ever! 1truck and 2- red glossy eyed movers. (I suspected they were both high on drugs) We walked my apartment and went over the contract, at that time I deemed the leader of the 2 was capable enough to move my items so I didn't make a fuss. The other mover although he seemed nice he had a horrible smell and was extremely lazy from start to finished. I'm hands on and dont mind helping in any situation, soft spoken and respectful to all. I believe those were the reason I was taken advantage of. I do not have strong/demanding personality and I'm generally a pleasant person, and these high movers saw that as an opportunity to drag their feet. To be honest I feel my boyfriends presence would have had a great impact with these 2 young movers. This 2 maybe 3 hour move took them 4.5 hours. My boyfriend and I had movers move me into this apart from Mesquite to Uptown and it took them less than 2.5 hours. I understand that every person and every company is different but in this case the leader worked by himself while the smelly guy grab an item at a time and dragged his feet he was chilling on his own time. To add insult to injury they left my new apartment a mess just dropped the items off anywhere. They didn't place my sofa cushions back on the couch or place the chairs with the dinning room table. All of my boxes were labeled kitchen, bath, etc....it didn't matter they sat my items anywhere. I signed the final paperwork and paid them to LEAVE. THE ABSOLUTE WORST MOVE EVER. My nerves and night were ruined so badly I couldn't stay at my new apartment. I couldn't sleep looking in that MESS so I left and Im dealing with it Today, starting with this review. Update: We used Midnight Hour Moving one more time to load a moving truck and we deeply regret it. They were great the first two times but this third time they managed to ruin almost all of our furniture. During the third move we really had doubts about the two workers they sent. My husband kept having to remind them to use the 50 moving pads we provided and had to stop them a few times from putting dirty yard equipment on top of upholstered furniture. One guy kept complaining the entire time and actually told us at one point he'd dropped our washing machine off the truck - just to get a reaction of out us. This was right after he had already broken our dresser beyond repair by trying to pick it up from the top. When we unloaded the truck we found the rest of the damage. They ripped the fabric on both our sectional sofa and king bed mattress. There are deep gashes in just about every wooden table we own. There are grease stains and handprints all over our beds. Our washer and dryer look like they fell down the stairs. Our leather sofa and chair are scratched and stained. Just about all of our wall art is ruined beyond repair. I called the company to complain about what happened and sent them photos of the damage. They admitted the workers did not pack the truck correctly. However, their insurance policy does not cover damage so all they would do was refund the cost of the labor. We're stuck with thousands of dollars in damage and a house full of wrecked furniture that makes me embarrassed to have guests over. read more

Yesterday was my second time using this company to move, and I won't hesitate to use them again if I ever need to move in the future. Most "big" moving companies charge traveling fees, minimum of 3 hours, and ridiculous hourly rates. I got a few rates from other companies and they quoted me almost $700 minimum to move (just furniture, no boxes) from a first floor 2 bedroom to a first floor 3 bedroom within the same complex... Whereas Midnight Hour Moving charges hourly rates, comes well prepared, is on time (if there's a delay they make sure to call you with any updates), and was respectful of my furniture. You also get to choose if you want your furniture reassembled or just your stuff moved, which I like just having the option. One of the movers was the same guy from our first move with them 2 years ago which was nice to see a familiar face. The movers were very personable and respectful and made sure to keep us updated on our moving time. They made sure everything was set up to our liking before we paid. The whole experience was very pleasant. The scheduling was super easy and straightforward, I received a call 2 days prior to my move confirming, I received a call the morning of my move receiving an ETA, and I received a follow up call the next day to make sure everything met my expectations. I have had to use a lot of different moving companies over the years, and by far Midnight has been the best experience that I have ever had moving. Stephen and Matt were absolutely wonderful in the way that they cared for our belongings, and they worked faster and harder than any other company I have ever used. My move took 6 hours, even though I had planned and budgeted for 8... now, part of that is I tend to plan pretty thoroughly in advance for moves and I have things staged in a way I want... but the other part really was their determination and effort that they put into their process. They worked so hard every minute they were out of the truck, and it blew my mind how much they were able to get done in such a short time span. I already know that, sometime in the next couple years, I will have to move again, and now I also know that I don't have to hunt around for good company to get me from A to B (and it was a really competitively priced deal as well, more affordable than quite a few of the other options I looked at). For reference: 2 guys, 2 trucks, 56 mile move across DFW with and 1 additional stop inbetween the starting and end points for an additional drop-off/pick-up... and again, it only took them 6 hours. It really makes it worse for the owner to give some smart ass response. He thinks he is so freaking funny. Which makes the situation more insulting. Acting like you will flag my account so I won't be able to use your so called service if I change my mind LMAO. Are you out of your damn mind? I would move everything I own one item at a time in the August heat ,uphill both ways, shoeless, and walking on glass before I'd ever EVER use your moving service. I'd prefer death to using you for a damn thing. They are not in good standing with the BBB. At the beginning of July we had the pleasure of meeting Cody and Roger who assisted us with our third floor apartment to another third floor apartment move. These guys were AWESOME! Extremely hardworking, attentive, considerate, and helpful. They went out of their way to help with every little thing they could and it did not go unnoticed. It was such a difficult move that it took them the majority of the day but please note that the amount of time it took was not because they slowed down or tired out (the stairs at our new place were way more difficult than the ones at our old apartment), these guys busted their butts all day and still had a smile on their faces at the end of it. This is our second time using Midnight Hour Moving as they work with UMOVEFREE (I have used their services for about 10 years. I used to take the money option but ever since we used the free move option, I will never go back to the money option) and I unfortunately forgot to leave a review the first time for Midnight Hour Moving (back in 2019) so let it be known that both times we received outstanding service! This company has some of the most hard working men/people I have ever seen and while we do not want to move again anytime soon, we know exactly who we want to work with next time. read more

I used umovefree.com as my apartment locator and got a 2.5 hour free move because of that. I was assigned Midnight Hour Moving for my move and I could not be more pleased with the experience. I have yet to find any broken items and I am almost completely unpacked. There were a few minor scratches on some furniture but, honestly, that should be expected in a move. I watched them work and they were careful with my items. Also- They finished my move with 5 minutes to spare. Had the two gentlemen helping me gone over my allotted 2.5 hours I would have had to pay an extra $20ish per 15 minutes. That right there shows you their honesty and work ethic. They could have easily dragged their feet to earn a few extra dollars but they didn't. SO APPRECIATED! Summary: -On time -Careful -Great work ethic -Honest -Polite -Friendly -Professional -Overal: AWESOME Very impressed with such a great moving experience. Highly recommend! I'd like to give them a 9 Stars out of 5 for their service on this Huge move. They lost the 10th star because they made two of the guys who worked on our move work the next morning after finishing at 11:30 PM 80 miles from their business. I think they all should have got Sunday off :) We moved from Richardson, TX. to Stephenville, TX. this past weekend. I'm partially disabled, and my housemate has been sick for the past few weeks, so we used their Packing service and Moving Service. The Packing guys were quiet but did a pretty good job of turning our stuff into boxes :) I have few complaints they worked quickly and did a good job. The Mover guys the next day just rocked. They loaded 3 24' trailers which were packed to the rafters Drove the 150 miles to the new house and unloaded everything in about 14 hours, which might sound like a long time, but they were working their butts off and did a fantastic job. I can't give them a better recommendation for your next move, I know I'll use them again if I move back to DFW area. Thank you guys.... read more

My family and I have used Midnight Hour Moving for each of our moves over the past 6 years. I had to use them again this last Monday following an unexpected death in our family. I had a short notice timeframe to work in and they made time to accommodate our request and spent time with me to help me to determine the best fit of time slot, truck size and crew that we would need. I couldn't be more grateful for their help as I've been in a fog due to grieving. They made it effortless and took care of everything. They made sure everything was moved carefully, helped me to smile on a difficult day, and did everything in remarkable time. They took apart and rebuilt the furniture without me every saying a word, and had to move a desk that defied possibility to a second floor bedroom. I only wish I could have tipped the crew more for all their hard work, but we have limited resources due to the current circumstances. Scheduled a move with Midnight Hour Moving. They had a perfect time for us. 1PM-4PM this afternoon. We signed the lease this morning and wanted to get our stuff moved from a 2 bedroom apartment to a 3 bedroom apartment within the same complex while everyone was still at work so we wouldn't be blocking anyone's parking. They called at 11:45AM and said that the guys had finished up another move early and wanted to know if they could come early and we agreed. Upon arrival, Matt and Brent introduced themselves and we started discussing our move. After signing some pre-move paperwork and going over what all we wanted moved, they got to work. Exactly 2 hours later, our move was complete with everything that we had asked them to move in our new apartment and some of it actually set up with their help. I was honestly skeptical due to the few negative reviews that they have received lately but they were GREAT! Would definitely use them and recommend them to anyone in the DFW area! My daughter was moving from Texarkana to Grapevine and decided she would use friends and family to save a little money. The plan involved family members driving 204 miles one-way, renting a moving truck, carrying large boxes and heavy furniture from a 2nd floor 2 story 2 bedroom apt. and retuning same 204 miles to a 2nd floor apartment in Grapevine. All done with non-professionals! Really?? My call to Midnight Hour was the most helpful as Teresa was really patient and professional in explaining the exact costs and what to expect on "Moving Day". She followed up by sending a "regular" print (i.e.no fine print) document with all costs including mileage, labor, and FAQ's. Moving day came just 4 days later and Brent and his new recruit Poncho showed up on time, explained all contract details quickly and "got after it." Did a local move with this company and I must say they were GREAT! Josh and Victor were very courteous and professional and went above and beyond with the move. After 30 years of moving with the Air Force, this was; by far one of, if not THE best move I've ever had. They helped with positioning the furniture in the right spots and were willing to do whatever it took to ensure I was happy. I HIGHLY recommend their services if you're looking for a quality move with dependable and reliable personnel, Midnight Hour Movng is the way to go! Brent and Steven wasincredible. We have moved quite a lot in the last few years and while they still work here, you need to request these two. They are honest, careful, strong and even acrobatic with the way they maneuver lol They care about the work they do and you can tell by their attitude. They went the extra mile to help us with as much as they could. If anyone has ever hired movers before should know that it's not a easy task. It's tough on the body and dangerous. These guys never complained, stayed positive, and gave it their all. Request them and take care of them. Josh and Emmanuel helped us with our move this past weekend. They were very helpful and I am so glad this is the company I had! They explained everything in detail to me before they moved a single piece of furniture. I had two and a half hours with them, before I had to pay for more. Not only were they friendly and courteous , they were very good with my children ( even though they got in the way more than a couple times...lol). Best of all, throughout the move, Josh made me aware of the time spent, and whether or not we were on schedule for the time that I had allotted. I really appreciated this! It would be a nightmare to lose track of the time and then find out at the end that you owe more than you were prepared to pay. They moved constantly, did not try to "ride the clock" and gave me good advice on how to prepare the things they were about to load. Love this company! Absolutely five star service! read more

I found this company on Angie's List and from the initial telephone conversation to the follow up emails to the actual move if there is such a thing as a perfect move this was it. Super fast, super efficient and super friendly whilst at the same time maintaining a wonderful sense of professionalism, They moved me from a 2 bed apartment to a 3 bed, 2 bath house in ONE HOUR and FIFTY MINUTES ensuring that I didn't pay a penny over their 2 hour minimum. Nothing was damaged and the guys put every item and every box exactly where I asked them to. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone in need of a great moving company. I can't say enough good things about Brent and Brandon. My moving crew was fast, friendly, efficient, considerate....nothing short of a MODEL of professionalism. Thank you for your awesome service. Unfortunately, the customer prior to me that day had underestimated their move size, which made my crew over three hours late in arriving for my move. I do not hold the moving crew responsible for this. I do, however, expect the company to make good on a promised arrival time. I would have appreciated a discount of $30, (about 10% of my invoice) which I would have given to my crew as additional gratuity. I'm a pretty chill guy and I think the company would agree that when I called to ask for consideration due to the three hour delay, I was courteous and professional. This is the second time I have used Midnight Hour Moving. I used them in December to move my husband and I. We was so impressed with the way they moved us that when I needed to find a moving company for a client of my I call them to help move her too. Matt was the lead on both moves he is awesome. He made everything was packed securely and promptly on both moves. This second move Matt and Gary both went above and beyond to make the move easy and successful for my client. I don't know that I ever want to move again but I assure you that if I ever do I will call Midnight Hours Moving again and request Matt and Gary be the team I get.
