Captain Jeff and the mates were great. I bought a groupon online, and called right before booking a time slot. We were greeted by the friendly Captain Jeff and his mates on the sidewalk. We checked in and were on the boat. They have rod rentals for 7 bucks and well worth it if you dont have your own equipment. The mates (whose name i wish i had gotten) were amazingly nice and took good care of us. They made sure we had everything we needed and helped with any situation that came up. We arrived early, and the boat left at about 8:50am. The fishing was non stop. We had 4 people in our party, and we took 54 porgy home. We got into a few sting rays which were fun fights, but we had to cut our lines as we couldn't do anything with them. The weather was sub-par, so the water was a little choppy. As it worsened, we were brought into the bay were the water was calmer, but still held a ton of fish. Overall we had a great time on the boat. I suggest bringing the following. -If its a cold day, (Sweater/Raincoat) -Water -Food/snacks -DRAMAMINE. Half our boat was in the cabin dealing with seasickness. -Some cash for tipping out the mates and captain -a cooler to bring home all the fish you catch filled with ice. -Wear comfortable shoes you dont mind getting wet and dirty. So we gave the Capt. midnight a shot because I found a deal running on Groupon but his trip was almost total waste of $$. I have been on other boats down in Sheepshead Bay and none of them are run as unprofessionally as this fleet. The day got off to a bad start when the boat left the dock almost an hour late. I think they had trouble starting the engines because I noticed the crew going in and out if the engine room repeatedly and when the engine finally started there was smoke everywhere which never really stopped for the rest of the day because the captain never shut the engines off. Now like I said I've been on other party boats before and they always shut the engines when you arrive at the fishing grounds. I think the captain was afraid they wouldn't start again so we had to inhale exhaust fumes all day. The crew spent most the day doing there own fishing and could hardly be found until the end of the day when they were looking for a tip. The captain did move the boat around and tried to find fish. The only reason I didn't give 1 star I'd because hey we were on a boat and caught a few fish so it could have been worse. But I would never use this company again no matter what price. There are plenty of other well run fishing boats in the Bay. read more

Honestly, this is one of the best deals in Sheepshead Bay. I am completely new to fishing and me and my mate were a bit late, cutting close to the boat departure time but thankfully, Captain Jeff is really organized and still took us in. It was a great catch session and it seems like other ships keep on following us so it goes to show that Captain Jeff know where all the good spots are. Good captain, helpful crew, good vibes! Midnight fleet uses clams as bait, which is really works. Porgys and seabass love them. Yesterday we had one of our best catches (and we have been going every weekend for the past month) with a total of 29 porgies! It was an arm workout to lug all the fish back home. I also really love how the crew and captain are so knowledgeable, especially when it comes to nys fishing regulations. They will let you know what size fish are keepers so it is up to you to make the right decision to help the sustainability of the fish population. If you want to catch fish, this is the boat for you. (Captain Jeff puts you on the fish and keeps you on the fish). If you want to catch fish while also sharing a few laughs with friendly patrons and deckhands, this is the boat for you. (Chris cuts one mean filet; One deckhand looks like Mario). Plenty of room on the boat on weekdays, makes for a comfortable and relaxing trip! Must bring your own water, food, and snacks. Boat typically leaves the dock around 8 am, arrive before 730 am to pick your spot on the boat. My husband loves coming on these day and night boat trips. Most of the time he alway comes home with so,eyeing. They rent you poles for $5 and will filet any fish you catch. They have a pool for the biggest fish and my husband even won the pool recently. He tells me about captain Jeff and real.y enjoys these trips and that makes me happy! Thank You captain Jeff! It can get crowded but I guess that's the price you pay. The circle the whole outside bay but I do wish they had some food and drinks on board although I make my husband some anyways it'd be nice to have it as an option! had another great day of fishing with Midnight Fleet Jeff was out today but the Captain was great took us to some nice places lots of fish not all keepers but it was a great day as always, totally recommend this to anyone especially beginners, Chris was the mate and was really helpful and happy, loves helping, can't wait till next week going again its Porgie Season next week! Capt. Jeff is awesome owner his deck mates Kyle and "crazy" Eddie are so helpful and fun its like fishing with friends. They laugh and joke with you. Went for my bday with 4 friends we caught 27 blue fish between us all. Will definitely be back again. I wouldn't fish on any other boat. Wonderful experience with 9yr whole family. Boat was clean. Mikey and Eric and Jeffrey were very friendly and helpful!! We went out at the evening fishing and the sunset was magnificent! Caught 19 fish we were able to take home plus loads more that weren't large enough so we had to throw back in. They baited our lines for us and out up with our amateur fishing with a smile! Bring Dramamine because it gets very choppy. Fun night!!! read more

We booked this tour as a friend recommended it and we were not disappointed! The 5-9 fishing tour was a perfect mix of fun and beauty. The weather was perfect and the sunset magical. What a fantastic night of fishing. We sailed on the 5pm - 9pm trip. We caught FISH!!!! Everyone had a bucket of fish. Jeff found the best spot, and he's attentive to everyone on his boat. The crew was quick to help with tangles and unhooking fish, filling buckets with water. Poles provided top notch and plenty of bait. We'll be back! read more
