This is my second time on the Midnight Fleet. My first experience was less than stellar as, fleetwide it was a slow day. Yesterday, 8/29, with my youngest, it was amazing. Caught my biggest fluke in the excellent mixed bag day. I caught my biggest Fluke ever. The mate was fantastic, helpful, knowledgeable and POLITE. The captain does not give up and what more can you ask for. I will become a regular.

Absolutely a ton of fun. I've now gone out with the Midnight Fleet twice, once on the Captain Midnight and once on the Midnight Star, and both occasions were awesome. Of course, it helps to have great company too and it makes for great group gatherings. Our trips were courtesy of a Groupon deal that is always available, so check out Groupon if you ever want to go out on a fishing trip on the cheap! On my most recent trip out on the Midnight Star, we left the dock at 8:30am on the dot and came back to shore around 4pm. If you don't have a rod, you can rent one for $5 from the crew. They also have a $5 buy-in pool for who catches the largest fish during a trip out to see, which always make it fun. As for food and drinks, it's BYO-everything (food, snacks, water, beer), so bring whatever you like short of hard alcohol. For the bathrooms, just be warned that it's not the most pleasant bathrooms, but they do the job for quick nature calls. Both crews were professional and extremely helpful to anyone in need or beginners. If you need help to reel in your fish, take your fish off the hook or just something as simple as untying knots in your tackle they are always there for you. Also, at the end of each trip, they help people filet their fish at a small fee. The boats were packed both times we went out, so make sure to get to the dock a good hour before they leave so that you get a good seat or your group gets seats together on the boat as it's first-come, first-serve. Other than the above, sit back and have a relaxing time fishing!

The captain and crew of this place is great. I went on a full day fishing trip from 8:30am-2:30pm. The boat didnt catch much fish for the whole time - probably only 3-4 fishes and no keepers for the whole 6 hours. Instead of turning back when the time is up, the captain was nice enough to extend the trip for an extra 1.5 hours for free. We started getting keepers at the last hour. Kudos to him! The boat is a lot dirtier and run down than others in the pier. The ladies' toilet does not flush and there is no water. There are also a couple of oddball characters that seem to be regulars playing cards and gambling at the back of the boat. We occasionally catch a scent of weed coming from there - not the best place to bring kids. If that doesn't bother you, I'd pick this place over others for their crew.

The most friendly crew on the street. The boat is humble but clean. Captain is so nice and wants his customers to catch fish. I'll always fish with these guys.

Yesterday was my second trip with this charter. The crew was very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely go with them again. We caught 57 fish and were very pleased with the entire experience. I highly recommend Capt Midnight Fishing.

This can be hard-core fishing. It it not always pretty, or clean like most yachts, but the captain put us on fish most of the day. Jigging and some people dunking bunker for blues, over 100, a few dogsharks and even a keeper fluke were taken on board. Great Memorial Day of fishing when you catch a bunch, lose a few, and catch the pool winner! Almost more filets than I could carry. Mate Kyle, I still owe you, for your help and cheerful support. Will see you soon! Lil

I love this captain his name is Jeff and he is the best. I have been going to him for years now and he really cares about people catching fish I usually go with my brother in law and father and we have a blast every time . We just went the Thursday before Father's Day and my brother in law and I caught around 10 each but had 7 keepers each . My father in law won the boat pool with the biggest ling fish. I love when they go porgy fishing my personal best was 26 in the evening boat ride. We come from Long Island to BK and it's worth the trip every time. The other fishing boat places in Freeport, cap tree, and port Washington don't compare to this. Captain Jeff we will be back next week!!!

Captain Jeff and his team were amazing. Never fished before, so I had a lot of questions. Prior to the trip, Captain Jeff was extremely professional and kind when answering my questions by phone. Found him to be very personable and professional from the first moment we interacted. Selected the 5pm boat ride on a Friday evening, rented the fishing rods from him and purchased a dozen bloodworms from the store right next to pier one since someone suggested that was better bait than the shrimp bait provided on the boat. Less than 15 people total on board, everyone was socially distant - i felt comfortable and we had a great time. His assistant (also named Jeff, so down to earth and helpful) gave us a crash course on how to bait and fish and we caught 18 porgies total! They offered to scale and clean them at the end, for a very small fee. The sunset and scenic views were amazing. Don't expect bells and whistles on the boat itself, if you're looking to just have a good time, see great views and simply enjoy actually fishing - this is your trip hands down.

Consistently overcrowded, leading to more time spent untangling lines instead of actually fishing. All they do is circle the bay.

The boat itself is clean and has enough room to move around while you're riding out to where you'll see sea life. The crew has clearly been doing this for a very long time and is incredibly knowledgeable. We had perfect weather and saw many dolphins and even saw some whales! It's a group activity for the whole ship to keep an eye out for some movement but it's so exciting when you do spot a whale tail pop out of the water. The whales were very active and we saw a few different ones before the ship was starting to turn back to head toward Brooklyn. As we were heading home we saw a two whale breeches so the captain turned the ship back around so we could see as much as possible. I was able to ask whatever questions I had about the whales to the crew and they always had answers. You can bring food aboard, and I believe on the lower level there is a little concession stand (I sat up top and stayed up there the whole time). Highly recommend a jacket or sweater as once you're out on open water the breeze kicks in.

It's amazing to think you can do something so…read morenautical and full of marine life from one of NYC's Boroughs, but it's true as American Princess Cruises offers up whale watching adventures right out of Brooklyn. My wife and I did this just the other day and it was absolutely awesome. Truth be told, this was actually our second outing with APC as we had already had a fantastic time with them back in 2019 searching for sea mammals. Knowing my wife (girlfriend at that '19 time) loved it, I went to see if American PC was still a thing (especially after Covid times) and they most certainly are! Their boat launch location is different (now in Sheapshead Bay as opposed to Breezy Point), but it still is the same great cruise line. What makes it great? Well the boat is of reasonable size that could fit about 100 folks. It has inside and outside seating as well as a small snack bar with some simple foods to nosh on and an array of drinks (including beer and wine) to partake in. You can also bring on some basic food (we did bagels) to eat if you would like. I will say the bathrooms might leave something to be desired, but find me a small boat with a luxurious bathroom (you won't be able to). What's really most important here is the actual whale watching experience with American Princess and their crew. The APC website boasts some pretty regular whale (and dolphin) viewing and it shows as these guys know how to spot and track whales. What's nice to know is they do everything under a "Whale Sense" program that trains them to ensure all watching and following happens under proper distances and laws. Naturalist Celia explained all this and much more about whales themselves throughout our 3 hour and change trip. She was incredibly informative and pretty friendly from start to finish as she was helpful in pointing things out on the water. Other crew members (including the captain) did the same which helped in keeping us looking in the right direction. Directions like time were important (they used the "o'clock" method) because we definitely needed them to point us in the correct location. Starting early in our trip we began spotting whales. There were 3 humpbacks total that were spotted as well as a minke whale (which I had never heard of) and is apparently rarer to see. The trip was finished off with a pod of about thirty dolphins jumping and playing around our boat which was super cool. Overall, I highly recommend whale watching with American Princess Cruises. If you thought you needed to go out of Long Island in Montauk or this was some kind of Nordic European thing you could only do then you thought wrong! American Princess Cruises gives you everything you need to safely and enjoyably watch some sea mammal life right from an NYC Borough. Who knew? I did! And now you do too.

BEST WEDDING EVER!!!…read more I was all set up at another venue to get married on October 17th, 2020. Three weeks before my wedding, I was informed they were going to need to cancel. Frantic and ready to cancel, my now husband had suggested a boat. I googled party boats in Brooklyn, and the Atlantis came up, and to be very honest, I was skeptical, I called anyway. I spoke to a lovely woman, her name was Kelly and explained the situation, and she was very sympathetic to what was happening. She set me up with an appointment with Amanda to have a tour of the boat. My husband and I got to the boat and met with Amanda and knew immediately we were in good hands. This woman is amazing. Leading up to the event date, there were so many changes due to hot zones and what have you, and several times I was ready to give up, and it was her who told me, you deserve to be a bride and have the wedding of your dreams, and she and her awesome team delivered at every single turn. From Jamie in billing, which was so sweet, Captain Fred and his beautiful wife who oversaw every detail and cruised us around the city (some of my guests did not even know we left the dock until they were invited to the top deck to see the cake cutting by the Statue of Liberty). All the servers that none of my guests waited for a drink, the food was out promptly nobody was waiting, they were awesome, and the food was delicious (get the lamb chop ordures). Everybody on the Yacht was amazing. Amanda, we want to thank you for everything you did for us. We could not have pulled off the best wedding of all time, all the little details, the communication between vendors. It was like working with a best friend easy peasy. The Pink Lady was docked at Pier 7 and we checked in with Captain Anthony in 10 seconds. They board 15 minutes before departure, so my friends and I went to a nearby cafe to wait since it was really hot. Boat: Yacht is as depicted on their website. Two restrooms in the back (clean), food is placed on tables in the front along with coffee/tea on the first level, bar's on the other side. Everyone sits first come first serve, so if you're with a big group, get in line early so you don't get split up! We sat with a cute elderly couple and there were two extra seats at our table. Food & drinks: "Brunch" food/lunch buffet consisted of chicken, roast beef, ham and turkey wraps, salad, 2-3 different kinds of cold pasta salads and diced fruit. My friends and I were excited about the buffet and were a bit underwhelmed (we really wanted eggs! lol) but hey, you get what you pay for. Expect a 5-10 minute during the first rush. They ran out of pasta salad after the first long line, but had 2-3 platters of wraps. Drinks... my tequila sunrise tasted like sugar water, but my friend said hers was strong. Bartender was quick. Sights: You cruise from Sheepshead Bay to the Verrazano Bridge (one hour each way) and you get a great view of Coney Island and Seagate park! The captain also announces the sights as you pass by. Overall: Worth checking out for the views, especially if you love being out at sea,or have never been on a cruise around NYC. Don't expect too much from the buffet/unlimited drinks (and the cramped lines at the beginning), but you'll be full when you leave... and maybe drunk if you really do visit the bar often enough lol. Captain and crew members were very courteous; they help you get on/off the boat and also helped take away our garbage; tips are expected at the end.
