I bought the Living Social deal for the noon brunch cruise and went with my three friends (one who got seasick, another who was drowsy from taking motion sickness medicine... hah). Using a deal: Simple enough! If you buy a deal, email them your voucher number and the date/time of your preferred cruise (pick from their website) and they mark your reservation. If you're booking for more than one person, email your voucher numbers together in one email so you all get the same reservation. You then print out your voucher and bring it with you the day of. The Pink Lady was docked at Pier 7 and we checked in with Captain Anthony in 10 seconds. They board 15 minutes before departure, so my friends and I went to a nearby cafe to wait since it was really hot. Boat: Yacht is as depicted on their website. Two restrooms in the back (clean), food is placed on tables in the front along with coffee/tea on the first level, bar's on the other side. Everyone sits first come first serve, so if you're with a big group, get in line early so you don't get split up! We sat with a cute elderly couple and there were two extra seats at our table. Food & drinks: "Brunch" food/lunch buffet consisted of chicken, roast beef, ham and turkey wraps, salad, 2-3 different kinds of cold pasta salads and diced fruit. My friends and I were excited about the buffet and were a bit underwhelmed (we really wanted eggs! lol) but hey, you get what you pay for. Expect a 5-10 minute during the first rush. They ran out of pasta salad after the first long line, but had 2-3 platters of wraps. Drinks... my tequila sunrise tasted like sugar water, but my friend said hers was strong. Bartender was quick. Sights: You cruise from Sheepshead Bay to the Verrazano Bridge (one hour each way) and you get a great view of Coney Island and Seagate park! The captain also announces the sights as you pass by. Overall: Worth checking out for the views, especially if you love being out at sea,or have never been on a cruise around NYC. Don't expect too much from the buffet/unlimited drinks (and the cramped lines at the beginning), but you'll be full when you leave... and maybe drunk if you really do visit the bar often enough lol. Captain and crew members were very courteous; they help you get on/off the boat and also helped take away our garbage; tips are expected at the end. read more

Two stars because hey- you're on a boat in the sun and it's hard to complain about that. But this is a perfect illustration of "you get what you pay for", and while you simply can't ruin the sea on a nice a day you can make it a pretty mediocre experience. So 1 star is for that experience and the other is purely for the wind in my hair. We showed up about an hour early with our Groupon vouchers in hand. About 15 minutes to boarding they announce "Anyone with tickets....you can board if you want...." That sort of "meh" attitude was going to set the tone for the rest of our journey. We sat in the upstairs portion of the boat which overall was smaller then we expected. Things were a little cramped on the Pink Lady and as people arrived some folks had to share tables with strangers so larger parties could fit. That's really not an issue, but getting up to move around had you bumping into everyone and playing musical chairs. As soon as the buffet was open there was a mad rush to the food. And man, this is not brunch. I mean, I guess technically brunch is more about the time you eat and not so much about the type of food served, but this wasn't what I was expecting. Wraps, a salad, chickpea something or other, and cold pasta salad. The pasta was edible- enough to at least not leave me irritable and ravenous. But that's the most that could be said for it and I really can't reiterate just how....bland and sad it was. That wrap was full of unseasoned overcooked vegetables, I didn't see many people finishing them. But hey, that's cool, right? Because there's an open bar! Except all the drinks seem to be devoid of even a trance of alcohol. I ordered a screwdriver and I couldn't taste any booze whatsoever. Yay for vitamin C but that's not what I freakin paid for and that's not what I was told I'd be getting. Getting a little tipsy was the one thing that could have saved this mess and I was left high and dry. Some folks on the boat didn't seem to understand that this was a brunch cruise and not a drunken ride on the subway, and that can't even be blamed on inebriation because I know exactly what was in their drinks. Maybe it was the fact that they were playing Z100 (and not changing the station during the commercials) that had people thinking they were elsewhere. Those laser lights in broad daylight also seemed somewhat out of place. The staff seemed to be trying their best. But with uplifting comments like, "And on the right you'll see Coney Island. It's a great opportunity to take some photos of it....while it's still here", as well as a bored, "The open bars all inclusive, so make the most of it", it just felt like no one really wanted to be there. After choking down enough food to not be hungry I went out on the deck and spent the rest of my time with my friends out there. And that was quite nice. But then we turned around to come back and the boat was creeping along at a ridiculously slow pace. We weren't even getting a breeze at that point and we found ourselves bored, hungry, and sober. During the last 15 minutes or so they cranked up the speed and that was something. I decided to use the bathroom before leaving, only to find the first one I tried flooded. Fantastic. The second was out of toilet paper, which one of the staff members saw, and didn't bother to remedy. She told us not to flush the toilet paper and that that was the reason the first bathroom flooded. Oh. OK. Well I guess not giving us any will ensure that that won't happen. This is not a dive bar, I expect toilet paper at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. And so it ended and we got Thai food for lunch. Here's my thing: skimp on the food, or skimp on the booze. DON'T skimp on both and then have the nerve to make a little announcement about tipping all the staff on the boat because "that's not included in the price of your ticket". I tipped the bartenders not knowing that my drink was pure Tropicana because that's what you do, but I ignored all the giant tip jars sprinkled throughout the boat on our way out. read more

So we stumbled on these guys and they look a little sketch. Paid a guy that was literally standing on a corner lol but they paid for our cab to the pier and the cruise was really nice and totally legit. It doesn't stop at any of the attractions, which, I felt was plainly stated to us but others were really confused. The boat was nice and the guy narrating was funny and informative. We did not wait for the free shuttle back because it was taking over 45 min. Ended up just bailing and grabbing a cab. I read the reviews about the coupon deals. I did it too and I messed up as well but these people were so incredibly amazing about it so I'm not sure what happened with the other reviewers. They honored our tickets, communication was more than I could ask for and super friendly. The trip was wonderful. They were generous with alcohol. The sites were wonderful. They had a snack bar and offered hot food as well. The crew was AMAZING! They were friendly, personable and so helpful. There was one gentleman with crutches and the crew was always aware of him and helped him but they did that with everyone. I was wobbling with drinks and a crew member carried them and walked me to by boyfriend all the way on the other side. I noticed they went out of their way for everyone! AND they were humorous too! The boat might rock enough to make you sea sick at times so you may want to take some medicine. Best place to sit (but you have to get there super early) is at the top in front of the cabin. Most fun place to sit is on the first level, sides. When the waves get higher, you get sprayed. The kids will love it there. Bring sweatshirts!!! Even in the sun, when the wind picked up it was chilllllly. Bottom line, great trip and wonderful crew and a fantastic price!!!! read more

I had a great time on the Pink Lady this Memorial Day weekend. I took the 1-5pm cruise to see the Statue of Liberty and the ships in town for fleet week. The ticket included two cocktails, I had 2 of the dark n' Stormy's one of the boats trademarks and it was delicious ! I also noticed that they had frozen margaritas and strawberry daiquiris that looked great too. The crew was pleasant and the guide was very informative. This was a great way to spend an afternoon. After talking with one of the mates named Ralph I learned that the Pink Lady also does private parties. I am thinking that this would be an awesome place to have my Bday ! read more

I had my 39th birthday on this boat and several other family parties on this boat over the last few seasons. Crew Professionalism and quality of the vessel is Grade A. This is a top notch operation. The only explanation of the low star rating is confusion with a horrible dinner boat in manhattan that also goes by Queen of Hearts/ freedom cruises. This is not fair to Pink Lady/Freedom Cruises. DO NOT DO THIS CRUISE UNLESS YOU EXPECT TO WAIT EXTRA HOURS AND GET HIT WITH RANDOM EXTRA FEES I do not normally leave harsh reviews but this experience was absolutely horrible. If I could give them negative stars I would. We were originally doing the free Staten Island commuter ferry but were talked into this. For only $25 it would be one hour instead of two, and you supposedly get a better view of the sights. $50 for two of us. We get there, and they tell us we have to pay tax..... it's cash, there should be no tax. Then were upset we didn't tip them. We were told we would wait 10 mins for the shuttle. We waited 30. Once we tried to board the bus, the guy said he needs $2 from everyone. Wouldn't give us any reason why. I gave him a $50 and initially he didn't want to give me change, I had to chase him down to get the $46 he owed me. Then we get to the ferry landing, where we've been waiting a full hour and the boat still isn't here yet. They won't give us a refund and they've also promised other people free drinks which they are now saying they will not honor. This is a huge scam and even bigger waste of time. Take the free ferry, it'll be less time all in all, and not an annoying slew of lies and time wasted. Everyone waiting here is frustrated and we've chatted with others who have had to pay different amounts for things promised that have clearly been a scam. Horrible. read more

We paid $30 each for what we were told was a 1 hour tour on an express boat!!! We had to wait for 40 minutes for the bus, the bus ride took about 20 minutes then when we finally arrived to the pier, we had to wait more than an hour for the boat, it was really hot and sunny, you had to stand under the sun the whole time! And the kids were getting really dehydrated When we finally got on the boat! There weren't enough seats for everyone, people were fighting for the chairs, a lot of people ended up with no place to sit! I think the free ferry was going to be a much better option! Fortunately the weather was not too hot or a would have been a one star. Let's start with the good. The tour is nice. It does all it says it will do. Workers are relatively nice. We got some good pictures. Bad... We waited 2 hours to get on the boat from the time we bought the ticket. The $35 ticket ended up costing a little more than $40 after tax and bus fare were calculated. There is nothing to drink and 1 porta poddy that stunk to high heaven. If it were hotter out, it could have been real bad. There is no shade so you do stand in the sun the whole time. No where to sit one you are off the bus (if you can sit on the bus). It was the worst experience I've ever had. Even if you pay more DON'T go on this ride. One group of guys sold the tickets (they looked legitimate) with badges and uniforms, another guy made us pay for the ride to the boat, and the third group were the ones "responsible" for the bout. When we arrived at 10:30am some people had been waiting since 8:30. At 11am they said that it would depart at 11:30. By 11:30 they finally said they didn't have a captain. The boat was beginning to VERY unsafe, it was so crowded. Everyone on the boat started to talk among their group, they seemed very annoyed. I was feeling very frustrated. Some people began to leave the boat (including two ladies that were promised to be done in an hour, they had to be at the airport at 1pm). Many of us called the non-emergency number. When the police arrived, the captain suddenly showed up. Everyone wanted their money back!! We all understood why there were so many steps to the ride. They all just point fingers at each other and no one is responsible for anything!! I made sure to tell the police officers that this ride didn't feel safe. We finally got back on the boat and this time they didn't let the boat be over crowded. A police officer went on and made sure it was safe. Never again!!! Lesson learned :/ read more

The shuttle driver we had shouldn't be anywhere near a car (20 over, running red lights, are you kidding me?). The boat is a moving frat house, and a bad one at that, given that they've got the puke smell down but that's about it. I agree completely with the other one review here: she basically listed everything I thought, except mine was a Groupon voucher. Booking your reservation: -simple enough- the directions are literally on the voucher, and the Captain (Captain Anthony) will email you a confirmation or instruct you further if he needs further information. Very self-explanatory. They do request people get there at 11:30, but they don't start boarding till around 11:45-11:50 am, and we definitely linger there awhile for late people. Either way it's best to get there early as suggested because once everyone flocks onto the boat, you can snag a table for your group inside at the lower level or the upper level, which isn't air conditioned. The bar is at the lower level, FYI. Friendly and amusing staff: -one guy didn't seem thrilled to be there at all, but he did his job, helped give people beverage pitchers, helped people onto the boat, and he seemed real , like a New Yorker, if that makes sense. It definitely didn't turn me off from the experience. The bartender was super friendly and bubbly, very fast and efficient, which was good considering the drinks line was long! The rest of the crew who were responsible for distributing the food were friendly as well, even had a laughing moment when I requested the "real salad" as opposed to potato salad. It's not a huge boat of course, and depending on the crowd or groups, it can be very loud and overwhelming. One group of girls near us were dressed as if they were going to a nightclub, but it was 12:00 in the afternoon, for brunch on the water, and at times they would scream and shout in laughter, as well as stop their high heels for emphasis. To each their own and they paid their money to be there as well, but have a little respect for others. If you rented a private boat then you can act however you please, UGH! Ghetto asses! The food was 100% crap- generic, mediocre, snack food really to hold you over until you docked and could get a real meal. In the Cruise's defense, they were upfront about the penne pasta and wraps, but everything was really cheap. For one thing, my idea of a brunch meant that you could serve yourself. It's kind of annoying to have things rationed out for you, but of course I'm sure they would abide by your request for another scoop, but some people don't want to be that person especially with a lot of people there. Also, food ran out very fast- especially the tastier options like pasta salad which was kind of bumming. They had plenty of wraps thought- chicken, turkey, roast beef- which above said Ghetto Asses brought home, after the (I'm assuming) crew gave them tin foil to cover it. I mean, really?? Overall, this food is akin to the Continental breakfast you get at hotels in the morning. The bare essentials, but not tasty. As for the drinks, I just had one cup of VERY watered down soda. It was ridiculous. At first I was confused as to why my Pepsi cup was so light in color, but after drinking it, it was extremely diluted. Like, maybe 20% actual soda. I should have brought my own damn can of Pepsi! Same goes for the alcohol beverages- very little liquor. All sugar and fruit mixes. I really understand trying to cut costs and since this is a Groupon, they aren't getting the full cost, but it's important to make an impression, because people might be willing to book this line for future private events, and such. Instead we're left with a cram impression and eager to get off the boat....at the risk of tripping. Good thing the bartender was sweet enough to lend us a helping hand. Oh, and bathrooms were extremely tiny. The door was heavy to push and when I stumbled in, I nearly tripped because of the step there! And every direction I moved, I always turned on the hand dryer. And no, I'm not a fat ass heffer, for those of you who are wondering. Apparently you couldn't flush either; you had to throw the toilet paper into the basket? EWWWW!!! I also didn't see any sign for this, but my friends and I assumed this is what caused some flooding? The captain does announce Coney Island, the Verrazano Bridge, and Seagate, which were actually very nice views. But I think most people want more of the experience of being on the water, with brunch food, than seeing sights. But that's my personal take on it. Boats left every 1.5 hours not every 30 minutes like they said. Going to their address is not only difficult to get to but left you at a really sketchy pier and an even sketchier boat. The Pink Lady is a phenomenal boat! I attended a 4th of July cruise to see the Macy's Fireworks show aboard the Pink Lady. It was the most perfect day! The staff was friendly, courteous and attentive. The boat was clean and neat. The buffet dinner was delicious and the DJ played lots of different music, something for everyone to enjoy. When it came time for the fireworks, the captain was able to get us to the front of the pack. We had front row seats to the fireworks display! It was a really amazing night. I couldn't have asked for better. This boat cruise is worth the money. You will have an excellent experience! read more

This is scam. The person who will be selling you the ticket will lie about everything. Starting from prices. The ferry leaves from a pier 30 mins away from battery park. A bus that will charge you extra will take you there. The tour is sub standard. Whether you're looking to watch the fireworks over Coney Island or plan a special family or corporate event the Pink Lady is a top choice. Beware that there is an outfit with the same name operating out of Manhattan. Couldn't find anyone with a credit card square for a half hour then waited on the bus for another half hour to arrive at a dock on the alley to wait on line again. Bus didn't leave cuz driver went to get lunch. No warning about not standing on top deck could have been killed by traffic lights. Credit card machine not available cuz only guy with machine was at lunch. They pull prices out of their asses and lie. I agree on all the negative posts. This is totally a scam. Was also promised boats leave every 30 minutes. It does not. The printed ticket shows it is suppose to leave every 1-1.5hrs. We were on a tight time schedule. We walked out of the train station to board the free Staten Island Ferry when we were approached by these people. They told us the Staten Island Ferry doesn't even go passed the Statue of Liberty. This is totally false. You get great views of the Statue from the ferry and it is free. We were also charged an additional $4pp for their shuttle to the boat (was not told this either). We waited for 30 minutes and no boat was in sight. My guess is if the boat did finally show up it would have been 1-2 hours late from the time printed on the ticket. The people are very unprofessional. DO NOT DO THIS...TOTAL SCAM!! read more

I have been on the Pink Lady for three separate occasions. A childhood reunion, 50th wedding anniversary and a 50th Birthday and each time could not have asked for a better experience. The boat was very clean and well kept and the crew was exceptionally nice and very accommodating. A top notch well run organization that will definitely satisfy all of your needs. I was going to take the staten island ferry and unfortunately they convince me to take this tour...waited 45 mins in a line for the bus which they told me it was going to be a 5 min wait. Then when it got there we didn't make the cut and we had to wait another 30 min so I finally got a cab to take me to the pier another $10 and still had to wait another 30 min for the cruise to leave... the should be honest and tell you how long is going to take you to finally go on the tour.. 1.5 hrs later the tour started. The guy that sells the ticket seems very sketchy, i was informed that there is a shuttle bus that will take us to and back from where the ferry departs. But we were charged for $1 for each trip per person. No instruction given whatsoever about when to get off the bus, and there were more than one stop! I run a B&B on Long Island and was trying to update our guest directory with sightseeing information. I ran across this boat tour company that was "new" or at least I hadn't heard of it before and wanted to include it in our directory so visitors would see it as an option for their tourism activities. When I called and asked for information (I explained why I was calling), I spoke to an incredibly rude and unprofessional person who said "Why the f--k are you calling me? Who the f--k are you?" Really? this is how a company that depends on tourism and hospitality for its revenue behaves? (there are so many other options in NYC metro). Needless to say, I will not only NOT include this business in my directory, but I will also specifically tell my guests and every other B&B proprietor I can reach (there is a large network of us) to STEER CLEAR of this business! read more
