They gave me the feeling that were truly listening to me, making eye contact and were very courteous. They pulled it in almost right away and on my way home they called with an estimate surprisingly low and explained how and why they were able to keep it at a minimum. I gave them the go ahead and less than two hours later they called to say it was done. They also texted an app to me, making the credit card payment process super easy. My truck is so quiet now I'm afraid I'm going to hear whatever else may be wrong with it (smiling). I am totally sold on Big Al's and have already started spreading the word to my friends and family. T & D gave the lowest estimate, by far: labor rates for the other auto places were above $124 per hour; T&D is a single mechanic operation and I had reliable work done at this location over a decade before. The owner was honest, did what he said he would do and was flexible and accommodating. The work was done well and quickly; the alternator, water pump, radiator fan and timing belt were all replaced. Warning about Bill's Auto Repair & Towing Service…read more I want to share my son's experience with Bill's Auto Repair & Towing Service so others know what they may be dealing with. My son was in an automobile accident Friday evening. The police called Bill's to remove the vehicle from the scene. We have roadside assistance, but I understand that police can require a vehicle to be removed immediately for safety reasons. When Bill's arrived, the driver said the car was going to their impound lot. My son asked about having it towed elsewhere. He was told that would cost $250 plus mileage, and the driver convinced him it would be cheaper to have the car taken to Bill's garage, where he was told he could pick it up the next day. What he was not told was that the garage would be closed for the entire weekend. When he was finally able to get the vehicle today, his bill was $328.79, including $25 per day in storage fees while the business was closed. They also initially attempted to charge him an additional $100 in mileage because the tow-truck driver had been pulled away from another job at Kings Toyota and wanted to charge my son for the driver's travel to and from that job. After disputing it, that charge was removed. On top of all of this, they would not accept a credit or debit card. They required payment in cash. My issue isn't that a tow company charged for towing and storage. My issue is how this was handled: my son had just been in an accident, was told taking the vehicle to their garage would be the cheaper option and that he could retrieve it the next day, wasn't told they would be closed all weekend while storage charges accumulated, and then faced an attempted additional $100 mileage charge unrelated to towing his vehicle. I would strongly recommend that anyone dealing with Bill's Auto Repair & Towing Service get the full towing charge, destination, storage fees, business hours, and payment requirements in writing before allowing them to take your vehicle.
