After losing my husband to stage IV cancer in late 2024 following a 20-month battle, I've been in hospitals all over the world. Beebe is, without question, one of the very best. My father is my favorite human on this earth. When he suffered an LAD heart attack, a type of event that rarely gives families a second chance, the Emergency Department, Cardiac team, and ICU nurses not only saved his life, they saved me from enduring another truly gutting loss. I will never forget that. A "thank you" feels impossibly small compared to what you gave us, but it is what I have to offer today. From my family to yours, happy holidays. I wish nothing but the absolute best for everyone working there

My grandmother had known heart problems, yet our family felt she was given an overwhelming amount of medications and painkillers during her stay. After only three nights in the hospital, we were told she went into cardiac arrest while being bathed. The entire situation was shocking, traumatic, and extremely difficult for our family to process. What hurts me personally is that I tried calling my grandmother every single day while she was in the hospital, and not once was I connected with her. I wasn't even given the opportunity to speak to her while she listened on the phone. I will never get that time back, and that has been heartbreaking to live with. We left feeling unheard, confused, and with serious concerns about the level of care and communication provided. I would not recommend this hospital based on my family's experiences.

The nurse came in to go over his meds.. but with his history of multiple strokes.. he could remember. I normally take care of his meds. But I did give the ambulance driver the print put of his meds. But the rest of this nurses shift n the following shift my husband was ignored.. being a diabetic he was offered any food nor drinks. They were very rude and acted like little children... so he gets put on tge black list because of these professional nurses.. please make this make sense to me. i had to take my husband to the sussex campus of bayhealth in milford on friday, july 4th around 3…read morep.m. in the afternoon. first mistake. he was in excruiting pain and had passed a substantial amount of blood when he urinated. we drove to the hospital which is p robably 5 minutes from our house. i pulled up to the er, got out, when to get wheelchair because husband couldn walk, the attendant in the er, said you have to move your car. i said i would when i got my husband inside. he said no, move it now. he wheeled my husband in and i moved the car! they came and took him and evaluated him, brought him back to the waiting room said they had no beds. so we waited. keep in mind, there are 30 beds in the new hospital at milford er. shortly they came and took him to a room, told him to undress and someone would see him when they could. now i realize it was not a life or death situation, but he was in a lot of pain. we waited. finally a woman dr. came in started asking him questions. she got a phone call, said she had to take it, walked out of the room. didnt see anyone else for about 20 minutes or longer. when she came back in she said they were going to put in orders for a ct scan, and needed a urine sample. at the time he didnt have to go so we waited. in the meantime, it is a zoo out there. when he finally said he could, had to find a nurse to ask if he could get a bed pan or did he had to walk to bathroom. he said he could walk, went to bathroom. gave the sample. we wait some more. in the meantime he is in a lot of pain. a male nurse named Dane came in and said he was going to start an iv. he did. again, not a lot of communication about how long and what was going to happen next. the whole time he was not hooked up to any machines, i.e. blood pressure or temperature being taken or anything. the female dr. came back in, said it appears to be a urinary infection but not sure. the ct scan will tell them more. in the meantime, since we lived so close i ran home to get my husband's cellphone. in the short time i was gone, when i returned he was still waiting. finally took him to get ct scan. the attendant brought him back said it would be abaout an hour or so before results would be read. we waited. then at one point a nurse comes in, says she is going to start an iv antibotic. i questioned her becausse we had not talked to anyone about results of any blood work, and my husband takes a lot of medicine. he has parkinson's and severe arthritis. she said very rude she said you can deny the medicine! no, we just needed a little more information about what the antibotic was and if it was going to interact with his other medications. which at this point, no one went over his medications when they put him in the room. she asked what do you want to do. of course we both said yes, start it, but was anyone going to come in and talk with us. she didnt know. keep in mind, at this point i was so frustrated beccause of the lack of communication. and we went through a shift change which if you have ever been in the er when that happens, you see no one for awhile. they did come in and say they w ere going to do a bladder scan to see if he was leaving urine in his bladder. we waited for that. in the meantime i left and came home. it was after 9 and we had been there since 2:30 pm. i knew he was not in any danger of dying. hopefully. at 10:30 he was discharged. really seven hours in the er. told to reach out to his primary and his urologist on monday as followup was needed. they sent him home on antibotic. nothing for the pain. he called this morning to his primary, he was told couldnt see him not before the end of the month, he had a follow u p with his urologist on july 22nd, because of being in the er on may 4th with the same problem. they could not see him any sooner than his scheduled appointment. i am very frustrted because it was very evident to me that this er is grossly understaffed to handle the day to day activities of an er facility. you may have built a state of the art facility, but if you cant staff it properly then it doesnt matter. as i was observing that night, i saw people who didn't need to be taking up the time and efforts of the staff. they didnt appear to be in any life threatening situations. isnt this why bayhealth is building all of these urgent care facilities so they can be used for non life threatening situations thereby freeing up the er for real emergencies.?? again, i was not happy with the care that my husband received and the followup situation was no better. and its only going to get worse as pharmacies are closing, budget cuts in the government, over population in the milford area. it is very disheartening to look at the situation in milford er building this facility has not made the emergency room any better. only worse when you cant properly staff it.
