I was skeptical when they did and didn't want to pay the fee so switched offices. Big mistake! There is no another office that cares as much! In fact during the time I was at another office I had a mystery illness that the other office couldn't solve (and in fact I am positive they didn't even believe what I was saying). After a year and a half of this illness, I decided to switch back because I knew how good the doctors here were. Dr Amick spent hours with me going over everything that had occurred and spent many hours on his own researching possibilities. After a few tests and just 2 or 3 months he diagnosed me and solved the problem! Dr Amick is a fantastic doctor. He cares and also helps educate you on what's going on, never trying to talk over your head. The office is clean, everyone in the office is super friendly and they never rush you so that you actually get excellent care. It's such a great feeling when you have a doctor like this!

The initial nurse who took my vitals was rude. All the office staff is dismissive. I've had to call and wait on hold numerous times to get the results of a test I had to have done. Now, I'm from NY, but I don't think its too much to ask that the office staff treat people humanely. Once I finally got a hold of someone, I was berated about how she needs to do her job and that my call wasn't a priority. I also thought it was laughable that when I was exiting from my appointment, the one receptionist was trying to take care of something for me while the other one sat there looking at the Popeyes menu while the phone rang off the hook. Not to mention I didn't see the doctor until 50 minutes after my scheduled appointment. Though I would highly recommend him for his knowledge, I would not under any circumstances recommend Total Care Physicians since they do not employ professional office staff.

If you stop in for a referral for a specialist, be sure they do not provide you with an expired referral number. Also be sure they don't overcharge you if you have a copay. Know how much your copay is going in. COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR INSURANCE PROVIDER before stepping foot in here because again, they will schedule your appointment and wait until you arrive to tell you information is missing and you can't be seen. He is extremely thorough, includes you in your healthcare decisions, and responsive. I can send him a portal message and he will respond within the day even on weekends. Heather, the phlebotomist is exceptional. She is the only person I will allow to touch me for blood work. All of the the front desk is great, I just wish there was more of them. The wait time on the phones can be very lengthy upwards of 20+ minutes.
