    Wrong placement of the lift

    Well I started my day at 0830 and figured ahh it should only take 1-1.5 hours to replace the brakes and rotors. Well, I wish that was the case. The manager stated it should be about an 1 hour till we get these done, I told Home I went to BMW and they said it needed it and I just bought the car used. I then said ok I'll just go for a walk. I did my walk and asked how's it going? Well it seem that I need to wait a little longer. Then the parts arrived(so I thought) ahh wrong rotors Then they said well they are 1 day out I said, ok tomorrow No Monday ahh that's no good.. 1030 They decided the rotors needed to be shaved, I said what ever it takes. 1130 I was told that it took 40 minutes to do the one and it might take 30 to do the next one. ( I think the kids name started with D, sadly he had his act together but it was his last day, hope he went on to bigger and better places) 1230 rolls by no contact 1330 rolls by and I noticed they put the support in the wrong spot on the car and it was resting on the frame and not the block. They argued and I said well if I can see the light under the block that you say is resting on the arm then the weight of the car is resting on the brake lines. The manager says, We will see when we get some wheels on the car, fair enough... (remember this for later) 1430 rolls by - I did meet some neat people a nice pastor and nice couple going to Maryland one starting a new job. I told them my ordeal since they had seen me ther for several hours and they said ohh we are not getting out brakes done here. 1500 - about 1.5 hours of no contact nothing about what's going on, then manager comes to me and says, I don't know where the rotors are we are going to have to drop them as a business partner. It's been over 3 hours come on.. I said look, I just want it fixed, this is getting ridiculous. It's 1515 hours he rotors arrived (the manager asked where is the bill for them and the kid said, there isn't one and they just dropped them off( remember this) Then at 1530 - I ask, what the hell is going on, everything is here, well it turns out the the brakes are the wrong ones they are trying to new ones, I'm like WTF ( remember this for later) 1535 - I went for a walk and I was a about burst.. 1545 - I head back and I'm like what is going on, what is this. He said he was sorry and that the brakes were wrong, I was like what? So we I asked the kid that had a head in his shoulders, what's the model number on those brakes. I typed them in the phone on google and came up with them. I told the manager and he asked how did you do that what did you use, I said google.. So now there was the matter of checking out the car since they put the support on the wrong spot. Well the manager was fighting that the whole way, he knew he was in the wrong and didn't want to accept it. So I said I need to make sure the brake lines are right or fuel lines what ever is there. We take the car to another lift and this time we see the brake lines are there and it does not look like they are damaged, I'm not a mechanic he is and he said they look fine. I then say look at this damage since you put the original lift in the wrong spot and he manager said to me Well we do 23 cars a day and we know where to put them. I was like well obviously not ive been her for over 7 hours and you messed this up. Then he said we are going to need to go inside and pay for the shaved rotors and then I'll give you your car. I waited a second and showed my buddy the damaged to the panel on the undercarriage. The manager comes out and says do you want to settle up, I said I'll give you 50, because I know the guy that came didn't give you a bill and he didn't charge you and let's look at the damage again. He said what damage there was nothing wrong the brake lines were fine. I said the other damage (2nd time pointing it out) he says well then brake lines aren't damaged, you messed up the undercarriage panel, look to the right they put the lift correct, look to the left they messed up. I said I'm spent 7.5 hours here, the manager says sorryx I said sorry? I don't want to hear sorry, I came for a small job that sucked my day up, I came to see my sister who just had a baby and sorry doesn't cut it. He then gave me back the car and I would stand infront of that place with a sign if I could. Don't go there.. the manager is a joke and they should check part numbers on parts. The people working there that are any good should leave.. Don't waste your time there..

    First let me start with this...I have had several vehicles over the past 15 years--most of which…read morehave been "used" and it is reasonable to expect that wear and tear happens. 10 year old cars are going to have issues. With this in mind, I have tried to be trusting and loyal to a particular, major auto repair shop in the area. I come from a small town--you know who to trust and who will do right by you. Youngstown isn't a "small town," at least not where I come from. It is difficult to know who to trust here. When you own an old vehicle, are on a budget and still realize that there is a need to leave room for car repairs--it means a lot to be able to trust people with your car. When you go to a large, commercial shop hoping that loyalty might mean something and excuse you from being taken advantage of, especially as a female--you hope that you can rely on these men to be straight with you. Not jerk you around because they can and because you have a balance on the charge card you felt blessed to have to cover extraordinary charges that come along with owning an old vehicle. FYI, ladies: Don't trust everywhere you go. These guys at Pep Boys have been kind, understanding, accommodating and empathetic. They haven't neglected to help me and shoot me straight. For that, I am grateful to these guys. I'm done with Midas seriously don't even care about any "warranties" on work I have had there. They have done me wrong too many times and I'm not spending another minute in that disgusting waiting room. Thanks to Adam, Eric and any others at Pep Boys for helping me when I've needed it most. I appreciate you guys.

    The management is untruthful. Dont trust them . They will have you fixing things that dont need…read morefixed . And the mechanics do side jobs at store not under company invoices. Pep boys is very overpriced and over rated
