Really the only benefit is proximity, and knowing the job gets done. I would not bring your car here. The workers and store manager don't know what they're doing. They keep saying "we fixed the problem" then the next few days you'll be back in there because it was never fixed to begin with but yet there will suddenly be a "new problem" they found with the car that they can now take care of all the issues for "no extra charge"and yet you leave again, just for THE PROBLEM with your car that you initially came for, TO STILL NOT BE FIXED!! Came back over 4 times for it not to be fixed, but I thought y'all fixed cars in there?! How about the staff actually know how to fix the car's issue to begin with so the customer doesn't have to get the run around and keep wasting their time and gas to keep driving there to not get the problem fixed. That's so unprofessional. If the staff couldn't fix the issue with the car after diagnosis, instead of taking the customer's money and jerking them around, they could be upfront that they aren't competent to fix the car's problem to begin with. And the day I came in, another customer was having the same issue where the staff was giving him the run around telling him to bring his car back in which would've been the third time that that other customer would be bringing their car back there to have the initially problem fixed. Stop playing with people's money, time and cars. So unprofessional and would never recommend. You need to give people their money back after wasting their time and never fixing the issue! I called in advance to ask about replacing just brake pads, no rotors on the front of my car. John said no problem, come by around 230pm and it should take an hour or so. I said ok. I couldn't make it that next day. I called and told them so, being respectful. I then called back and said Saturday is ok, what time is best to come in? They said 9am. I got there at 907am. They didn't even get the brake pads until 11am. Then he called me at 1108am and said the wrong pads were delivered. ? Delivered or ordered, i wonder. Then at 146pm, auto parts intl dropped the correct ones off. I got out of there a little after 230pm. 5 and a half hours for replacing two brake pads is insane. I then said can you do anything about the $263 price since i waited 5.5 hours? No. Ok. You lose a customer for the ridiculous delay. Not willing to waive the $18 shop supply fee? Or any inconvenience consideration. It isn't being spent on MASK's. No one wears one. The manager. The workers. No one cares. All the customers wear them in the waiting room. Why does not one worker wear them? They weren't busy either. Just ordered wrong pads and took THEIR supplier from Newark about 2+ hours to drop off the replacement. Right. Brakes are done. Good service in the past. After today i will never go to this Midas again. read more

Stay away from this place. The owner, Gordon, is a nasty person. He refused to diagnose my issues with my vehicle and told me to take it back to who worked on it prior. I basically wanted to know what was wrong with my car and explained to him that I would prefer to give him the business. The manager was about to tell me and Gordon cut him off and instructed his manager not to tell me claiming that it was a " conflict of interest ". Even the manager was dumbfounded by this display or rude unprofessional behavior towards a longtime paying customer. I notified Midas corporate several times and they finally got back to me. Quick and professional. Offered to give me a ride home while the job was being performed. They took about 2 hrs for full break and rotor job. I had car trouble on a trip through NJ and stopped at this Midas. Given I had just replaced my radiator and thermostat, I was pretty sure I had an engine prob. And asked them to perform the simple test to check my head gasket. Instead they wanted to try to sell me a water pump and avoided the test as long as possible until I very firmly reiterated I wanted the head gasket checked only. In fact that was the prob. They then wanted to charge me $100 for this simple diagnostic I asked for from the beginning. I would recommend everyone bypass this shop unless you want to spend a lot of money for unnecessary parts and services. Called Tuesday to ask a question about my exhaust that had a leak. Answered question over the phone at 4pm they were willing to look at it and fix it same day. However that was too soon for me, brought it by at 330pm Wednesday without calling first, they looked at it right away, showed me the problem, fixed only what I wanted fixed, and guaranteed the work for 1 year. They didn't hassle me to fix more things, they didn't give me the run around. Told me it would be 150 for what I needed fixed, they charged me 149.80. Which is always great. Usually you hear 150, & end up at 180 with taxes/fees/nonsense. Took 90 minutes to fix my problem just like they said. I will go back to them again because they are smart & prompt with their work. Caution Read before going you'll be thankful!!!! They Didn't use the correct oil! Instead of full synthetic they use semi synthetic oil 0w20 !!! If you're getting a oil change I suggest you go somewhere else because they don't switch the oil filter. I know I witnessed it first hand!!! The absolute worst! I went for an oil change and tire rotation when I picked up my car and got home my low oil light was on. I went to check the oil and the dip stick was dry. Not one quart off or just a little under, ZERO, nada, zilch. It is amazing that a simple task of changing the oil can be screwed up so badly. THIS IS THE WORST MIDAS EVER! When I called to tell them their huge mistake everyone I talked to was extremly rude and insistent that they put the oil in. If so then why did my car just take 3.6 liters and now read full? Brought my car in for a brake job and after inspecting the problem, Midas informed me that the car needed a new caliper, two new rotors, and new brake pads and showed me the damage so I could see for myself. They were able to take me as a walk-in on the spot and they did the job within a few hours. The price ended up being a lot lower than what a dealership would have charged me and they guaranteed the labor for 1 year, which goes above and beyond what Midas requires of them. My worst experience I've ever had at a shop. Went in to get an oil change and to top off my 4x4 fluids and they didn't even know what that was. They had to ask me where it was located on the truck and ended up having to bring me back into the shop to show them. Wasn't the best feeling. Also I had asked for them to flush my engine, and again they looked at me like I was crazy. A SIMPLE ENGNE FLUSH!!! What the fuck!!!! At the end of everything or what ever they did they just asked me to swipe my card. Not even telling me what they had done or if everything checked out, any other problems they might have found, NOTHING! So I go ahead and ask what was completed and they just said " what you asked for" LOL....???. Do not go here. It is a waste of time and money. I would not feel safe with these people working on my car let alone you're car. I'm going back home and checking my self like I usually do just to make sure they did what " I asked for". I bought a exhaust system and muffler and after 2 1/2 years the muffler was shot so I told the service manager that it's warrantied he told me that it would cost $100 for parts and labor to install the muffler so you are actually paying for the muffler. Cars go 15 to 20 years without needing a muffler. That goes to show you how much their stuff is garbage. I told the service manager forget it. I said to the service manager that it's is warrantied why do I have to pay for it and he told me that because there is a catch everything basically telling me how they screw you. I told him to give me the muffler over the counter and I will install it myself he got so pissed and started yelling because now he's not getting no money at all for the muffler so the service manager gave me a muffler and said that the warrantee no longer lasts I said OK I got home to install the muffler and it was a cheap muffler it was not the one that I purchased from them he gave me a piece of crap muffler instead of the direct link muffler that was on my car I went back there to get the correct direct fit muffler and they would not give it to me and told me to get out of their business. I called The corporate office customer service line so many times and nobody ever got back to me they said someone will get back to you within 24 to 48 hour and no one ever called me back I was so mad. These people at this Midas are thieves and there parts are garbage. They should send this service manager to school to learn how to do customer service. read more

I bought two tires from this Midas, they broke my wheel lock key without telling me. This time when I went there for oil change and wheel rotate, instead of getting a lock key for me, they replaced those four lug nuts with four regular wheel nuts, and charged me $40. They broke my key, and then even overcharged (the nut is $1.99 in autozone) for their mistake. However, the guy told me he usually charges $60 for those four nuts. read more

Went this place for figuring out what is draining my car battery. The deal was this;$100 for inspection and then if I do repair they will take off 50% of that. I have some amount of knowledge of car systems and so did some amount of testing from my side. I knew the battery is not faulty, and there is no external channels creating the drain(alternator,spark plugs etc). I was sure the electrical is the one causing trouble because when I take out the fuse there was no drain and it kept in the charge for even 45 days which otherwise drain it in 3 days. Only thing which was pending was things like CD player, remote unlock key, passenger airbag, and small electric like internal lights. So I said them clearly about the issue and asked them to check. I left the car there and next day they came out and told CD player was causing the issue and asked to fix it (which they will charge me 150). since I know how to do it myself, I told them not to do it. However it was unplugged when I picked up the car. I know it was because they did it already and did not want to spent time on it to plug it back again - (no no... not because they are nice) So that is phase one. I wanted to make sure it was the thing draining the battery and so kept the car unused for 5 days and did check the battery levels. WHAT TO SAY IT IS STILL DRAINING!!!! I went back and explained what I did and then they asked me to leave the car to check. Next day they say the car is not drained.(I feel they played with it and charged the battery since charge was unusually high when I checked levels back at home) I had heavy argument with manager and he is not ready to check further and no reimbursement on my money. HE ALSO TELLS HE WILL CHARGE FOR CHECKING CAR AGAIN (WHICH IS STILL UNDER 1 MONTH AFTER SERVICE) !! If they are not ready to check it then why are they taking money for it? So I take it back home and use it for next two months. Now it is Jan 2016 , and it is freezing in my area and today my car is dead again. I might need to takeout the fuse to keep the battery up in winter... SO WHAT IS THE USE OF SPENDING $100 IF THEY CANNOT FIND WHAT IS CAUSING THE ISSUE?
