What a waste of time and money…read more First took my car to Toyota who couldn't fix it, but "highly" recommended Aamco to me to have a "second look" because they will have more equipment (as mine was not a Toyota so they could only test so much). Trusting both parties, I drove to Aamco two days later after speaking to a friendly manager Doug. Met him at the shop and he asked me to describe the problem to him. I told him the engire is misfiring. This is when the engine starts shaking back and forth like a race horse, and occasionally causes you to stall or slow down abruptly which will be very dangerous on a highway with cars following you at 100km/h. I know for a fact it's misfiring because this is not the first time. The mystery is the cause. In some cases, it's the spark plug, but sometimes, it can be other parts connected to the engine (or so I'm told). Doug assured me that he was use his equipment to test my issue properly. Hours later he called and said he could not pinpoint the problem. I asked him how he tested it and he said they drove the car around. He suggested that I bring it back when it gets worse. Worse? It's already worse! That's why I was there. I'm not going to allow the car to break down in the middle of a a highway to confirm that it's "worse". I am disappointed that they were not more honest up front and just tell me they can't fix it. They charged me for half an hour time to tell me what I know already!

I had the vehicle towed at night, called in the morning and the manager apologized saying he is really busy and they are booking for a week. Not rude, just stating the facts. When I mentioned that he did the work 2 years ago, there was a pause and he actually sounded disappointed that the repair only lasted only 2 years. Even though the invoice stated one year warranty, he said he would get back to me later in the day on the status and schedule. 4:30 I received a call, fixed and he only charged me labour.
