This review relates to the Midas facility on Maple road in Troy. Even though it may look like they great work because the lot is always packed with cars don't believe that for second. my first experience with them was when they said I needed a radiator to fix a small leak $1,600.00 bucks and the small leak was still there so i just kept adding a few cups of fluid every few months and forgot about it until i had a new driveway installed and the leaks stained so i took somewhere else to find out it was only my thermostat gasket that needed to be replaced. Then came the break job they did and within a year they were destroyed and i was told the pads are only warrantied for 30 days and the rotors for 3 months and I would have to shell out another $500 bucks to have them fixed. This place does horrible work, see video! They try to rip off young girls, and sell them things they don't need, then do horrid work like this! My daughter had carbon monoxide leaking into her car. UPDATE: 7/14/21 Midas made good on their promise and ended up refunded me. Thanks for making this right. As a result, I will change the review from 1 stars to 3 stars. - KM RUN!!!! They're LIARS as they DO NOT perform the services that they OVERCHARGE you for. Jason Morgan, the Service Manager at Midas located @ 2995 E. Big Beaver Rd., Troy, MI agreed to refund what I spent at the dealership on 7/8/21 AFTER paying Midas to service my vehicle on 6/7/21 and learned THEY NEGLECTED TO PUT 3 QUARTS OF TRANSMISSON FLUID AFTER SERVICING MY TRANSMISSION. Really?! Yes, he tried to blame the technician for the errors. But, he LIED because I took my vehicle back to them to look at and he said "my fluid levels were full" LIAR! It was 3 quarts shy of transmission fluid which the dealership confirmed (noted above) Further, I learned from my bank today (7/13/21) that the refund they processed to my debit card on 7/9 was retracted by the shady owner. Rick at the front desk was professional and nice. He went over and beyond to get my daughter and my car in and out as quickly as possible. We've had many places try to tell my daughter she needs hundreds and hundreds of dollars on fixes to her car. We have had mechanics tell us we were getting scammed. Rick met husband a month ago and my husband felt very comfortable with him and the team that he told us to go to Midas. So glad we did. There was one issue with my daughters car which was a true issue. No trying to rip a teenager and her mother off. Will continue to bring my business here and highly recommend this jewel of a place to all others!! read more

Honestly this is the only place I trust to repair my car. As a woman, I can't even count how many times automotive shops have tried to convince me to spend money on unnecessary "repairs". However every experience I've had at this Midas in which I require more than a quick oil change, the manager (Rick) has taken the time to not only tell me what he feels needs to be replaced, but takes me to my car to show me. I've even received a call from the manager shortly after some of my more significant repairs to make sure everything was running smoothly and to my satisfaction. Had a check engine light and flex pipe leak. Went to AutoZone and got free diagnostic for O2 sensor. Went to Midas to see how I can fix it and they said first try replacing flex pipe, if not try changing air filter, if not then try BG fuel induction cleaning, if still not working try changing O2 sensors (already know all of that from google; just want to know how much it costs to do it). Final cost for these recommendations: more than $45 with shop supplies and stuff. Wheel alignment expensive for $100. Purchased tires and tire mounting costs $15 each for $60 for four tires; can get it done for $10 or less with wheel balancing at other shops considering I am spending hundreds on tires. Overall go to a locally owned shop and save tons of money. read more
