Beware of the workmanship at this Midas!!!! Had our wheels changed from winters to summers. The great thing was, Midas had an appointment for me right away. $15/wheel because they were already on rims. Simple enough, right?? WRONG. Midas didn't properly secure the wheels!! My car started making strange noises like we had a flat, and the steering wheel started shaking at higher speeds. Took it in to the dealer, and they said all the wheels were loose, one dangerously close to coming off. BEWARE. Update: after this original posting, the Midas customer service team reached out to me. They said someone would get back to me within 24 to 48 hours about my experience. It is now three weeks later still no response from Midas read more

I wasn't overly impressed with the experience I received here. Went here to have my flat tire fixed. When I went to pick up my car they never told me how the flat tire was caused (it ended up being a nail) or any details about the free service check that was performed. I then went back because my indicator light was still on to tell me that the tire pressure was low. They told me "it must just be the model of your car", which in fact I know it's not because I've had flat tires before and this was never the case after it was fixed. They said they could fix this "problem" for $60 ... no thank you. I don't think I will be returning. read more

I think he finds his mechanics off kijiji because they never seem to diagnose the real problems or give you any true feed back. They distract you with more profitable new items you can buy instead. My main problem with my car is a sound coming from the serpentine belt assembly. I brought it in. They said a pulley was broken and belt badly in need of replacement. So I said okay. They replaced the pulley but ordered the wrong size belt. The noise was still there, they said was because the belt is still the old one... I'm very busy and took me about a month to go back and get the belt swapped out. Took them over a day I had to rent car to get to work the next day. Once it was fixed, I drove out, it was very noisy in the shop. I didn't notice the same sound coming from the car. A couple weeks later I go back for an oil change and inquire about my still noisy belt. They said they'd adjust it for free. Well when I came back today. They didn't talk about my belt, they just distracted me about buying a tuneup including tranny and differential fluid I already got done Less than a year ago from a real mechanic. They're ignorant to the fact you may know a thing or two about cars aswell. Anyways as I left. Turn my car on, I hear the exact same noise. I didn't even bother saying anything and drove off. Never going back there. Waste of $460.00! They don't do the work you pay for. They scam you into buying things that don't fix the problem. They don't keep their business relationships strong. Time to find a real mechanic not just a salesman. Also I took the day off work to get the car fixed and it's the exact same condition... WARNING! PLEASE READ!! DO NOT GO TO THIS MECHANIC. My partner and I had a truly horrible experience with Anwar Javaid and the mechanic Mike the other day. She went in for full service on Nov 26th which cost over $1,800.00 and as she drove away from the shop, after the service was complete, she found out her brakes weren't working properly. Wanting to have it serviced to ensure the car was as road safe as possible, she soon found out after about 50-100m worth of driving that the car was in fact in worse off condition from when she had dropped it off. The brake warning lights began to flash and when she put her foot on the brakes to slow down, she found that they were not working as expected. She had to pull over as soon as she could, in fear of her safety. She immediately returned to the Midas and was told to leave it with them overnight. We both went back in the next day and was met by Mike (as Anwar was not at the front desk at the time) and wanted to know what safety measures were in place to ensure that the car was safe to drive after picking it up the day before (when the brakes weren't working). Mike (the mechanic) simply tried to shrug us off. Mike claimed there were safety checks done but showed us no proof. We were told to speak to Anwar. We asked where he was and was told he would return to the shop in an hour. So we decided to wait there for around 40mins. Once Anwar returned to the shop, we asked why this had happened in the first place and if there was a safety checklist that was signed off by a supervisor to ensure the car was in a safe condition to drive before leaving the shop the day before (when the day the brakes failed). From the get go Anwar was very defensive as if guilty of something, several times raising his voice and even managed to belittle us in the process by saying "you don't know anything technical" about being a mechanic "that's why you don't understand". Anwar gave us the run around for over 45mins, angrily deflecting my questions about safety with no sense of empathy, urgency or concern about my partner's safety. Even saying at one point they did nothing wrong as it was the cars fault for "being old" (Ford Focus 2007 with 48,000km mileage). There has never been any issues with the brakes in this car and they were in fact worked on by the mechanics as per their suggestion. She only went in to get her indicator lights changed, but they suggested she have her brakes worked on after they did a check of the vehicle. All we were looking for was assurance from them that there were safety measures in place (a checklist of due diligence that was signed off by a supervisor) and instead found absolute negligence from both Anwar and Mike. There is also absolutely no indication to believe them in the slightest when they say they did a test drive on the first day the car was at the shop. Otherwise, the test drive would have immediately pointed out the issue with the brakes. I implore you to PLEASE not trust your car and that of your own safety with these people as they put my partner's safety in jeopardy with no apology or reason and even angrily raised their voice at us for asking questions. I believe these people put profit over everything else, so please look into going to other mechanics elsewhere. I have a complete audio recording I am willing to share. WARNING: IF YOUR CAR GETS DAMAGED WHILE BEING SERVICED, VIDEO FOOTAGE WILL LIKELY BE CONVENIENTLY INACCESSIBLE / GONE. I've been to this location about 4-5 times since September 2017 for oil changes. No issues with this simple service. However, my last visit on April 19th was far from decent. I brought my car in to get my tires switched to my all season tires as well as an oil change. Shortly after dropping my car off at 9:30am I get a call from the manager saying I could use new break pads, at an estimated cost of $380. I agree to this added service. At 1:30pm I pay the bill and pick up my car, which was parked alongside the storefront, right side a few feet from the building. I drive the 300 meters home, get out of my car and notice a paint chip and large vertical dent above the front right tire - the extent of which HAS CAUSED THE RIGHT SIDE PASSENGER DOOR TO NOT BE ABLE TO OPEN. I call the shop and ask what happened during the service because there is damage on my car. The manager says nothing happened and asked me to come in to look at the damage. I come back (all within 10 minutes of picking my car up) and the manager comes out and looks at my car. He calls the employee who worked on my car outside and asks him if anything happened while he was servicing my car. The employee says no, goes back inside and the manager says they didn't do anything and proceeds to chip away more paint in an effort to argue that the damage was here previously, based on the colour of the metal. I become livid as I'm basically being told that what I know to be true - that this damage is new - is false. I am positive this damage happened while on Midas premises so the manager asks me to come in after 6pm to view video footage where I'd be able to see the car being pulled into the garage, from the right side. I agree and follow up around 4 to ask if he's viewed the footage, says no and that he has to make a call in order to do so. Closer to 6 I'm told the footage is not viewable, as far back as 5 months worth of video. Convenient right? The manager said he would follow up with IT to get this to work and eventually 2 days later after I follow up I'm told that ALL THIS VIDEO FOOTAGE NO LONGER EXISTS. What kind of company supposedly stores 5 months of video surveillance that can't be viewed?????? Complete and utter incompetence on Midas' part that they can't fix this issue and more importantly convenient and suspicious that when video is needed POOF! it doesn't exist! I am still waiting to hear back from head office as the franchisee is no longer willing to co-operate. TIP TO ALL DRIVERS: Take pictures of your car prior to being serviced so shady places like this can't deny damage that happened on their premises. This has been a horrible experience all around and I can assure everyone reading this that I will never step foot in any Midas ever again and always advise people to do the same. read more

I can honestly say I am very happy with the service that was provided to my car. I came there with a flat tire (I was down on Bloor when someone told me that my tire was flat so I was very fortunate that I didn't have to drive far before I saw the Midas). I spoke with the owner Anwar J. and he was extremely helpful. At first I told him I just wanted him to fill the tire with air and I would just figure something out. He told me that would be free of charge, mind you I have never came by that place so I was very glad that he didn't try to sell me on anything that I didn't need. Unfortunately, shortly after is when we discovered the rim was bent so I would either have to purchase a whole new rim or get that one re-bent back, so I agreed to have it bent back. The overall job was well priced, and wow rim looks like nothing happened. I was very impressed with the service, everything was done quickly and professionally, I was treated as if I was a long time customer even though this was my first time there. read more

I was there 2 weeks ago for an oil change. They also checked my tire pressure. My check tire pressure light came on this morning. When I checked them one was slightly low due to the cold weather but both my front tires were significantly over inflated. One tire was 42 and the other was 52 and they should be 32! I double checked with a different tire pressure gauge and got the same results. I called Midas to complain and I was told sorry but it's just a small digital reader so sometimes there can be errors. That's unacceptable and dangerous. I will not be returning. read more

Never use this places unless u don't care about your vehicle! I ask for the tires to be rotated which they didn't did. All the spark plugs were supposed to be replaced, I just got my yearly tune up and guess what, " they didn't replace 2 out of 6 cause it would of been to much work for them! These guys are really nice but they just don't know what they are doing for the most part. I wasted a bunch of time and money at this place. I would avoid it for anything more than an oil change and maybe some new tires. I've been going to this Midas shop for most of my car service (98 Honda Civic) for quite a few years. The ownership/manager of the franchise changes every few years. But I've been reasonably happy. The East-Indian fellow currently in charge fixed my A/C on my old car about 3 years ago and went to some lengths to figure out what the problem was. I ended up paying $600 to have most of the A/C replaced, which I thought was a bargain. About 6 years ago (different manager) my battery died and they ended up doing some tests and eventually selling me a battery for about $400 (rather overpriced). I suppose they wanted to ensure there wasn't anything else wrong with the car. I should have told them to just put in a new battery. There are a couple of very negative reviews posted. It might have something to do with what the problem was or the model of car. Overall, I've been happy. read more

At the same time they overpriced everything to rip me off that last little bit..turned out to be a wheel bearing which they would have found out if they took it for a test drive. Not impressed at all with the lack of service received here. Went in with a flat tire, it was repaired. Few weeks later we had to put our winter tires on and have done so on our own for years without any problem. Changed 3 tires and got to the one that was fixed by this location of Midas and it was impossible to take it off. Tried once and it stripped the lug bolt key (we drive a VW Jetta). Called Midas explained the situation and they said bring it in we'll look at it. So we do... the mechanic greets us in his open toe sandals and socks, tells us to get to the point when we tried to explain the issue... and then has us go wait inside. We do with our 7 month old baby. They come and tell us there is nothing they can do as we stripped the lug bolt key. When we explain it's because they put the tire back on with too much pressure they refused to accept this. When we asked what setting they use for the pressure they couldn't answer, when we said the number its supposed to be they said yea yea that's what we did. Clearly they didn't... they refused to offer a solution or accept that this was in fact their fault. Told us to leave their store. Next day we take it to a different mechanic who asked why the tire was on so tight it's completely wrong and could have caused damage. He had to use many tools to remove the wheel but eventually got it off and $50 later we had the final winter tire on. I've followed up with Midas several times regarding this and nothing from them. Not impressed at all and will never go back or recommend them especially this location to anyone. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE ALL AROUND!!! Take your vehicle anywhere but here. I was a good loyal customer until they changed ownership in the summer of 2010 and the new management is terrible. I gave them 3 opportunities and they were a constant disappointment. I believe if you make an appointment for an oil change it should take no more than an hour, it never took them less than 3 hours, frequently longer............ for an oil change??? Major service was poorly done and needlessly advised. They will scam you if you don't know your way around a car. For example I needed two bolts replaced for tires that were stripped, left the car with them for 3 days and the said they were half done but couldn't get one of the wheel drums off. After 3 days they said we can't do it, come pick up the car. I arrived to find it was NOT even half done, they lied, and then charged $175........... for doing nothing! I then took the car to a REAL mechanic and they did the job in under two hours for $80. Please take my advice and don't waste your time, money or piece of mind. This place is a joke! read more

Very bad service ,went in just to check the brakes and the engine light when all of the sudden they told me that the car would not start and has very bad electrical problem and they could not fix it .Had to pay 200 bucks for practically nothing and another 100 bucks to get the car towed to another place in 20 minutes the other mechanic told me that it simply needed a new start engine .Seems like the mechanics in Midas in Bloor str west know more about sowing machines then cars, just a big wast of time and money . I do not recommend this place to anyone.Simply do not go there with your car. read more

I took my 2006 Buick into Midas because the "Check Engine Light" was on and my car had been having a problem picking up after stopping and getting into the correct gear. Midas told me the battery needed replaced I asked Midas to make the necessary repairs and paid almost $250. It seemed to be running okay, but later that week the same problem started to occur and soon the check engine light came on again. I took the car back to Midas to get it checked again. I was told that they could not find the problem. They finally said to take it to the Buick dealer as they could not locate the issue. I went to Buick and was told that the problem isn't related with battery. As far as I was concerned, I paid $250 to Midas to have my car fixed, and they did not fix the problem, so I have to pay Buick to get it fixed. I asked them about refund they very rudely said they cannot. Midas neither fixed my car, nor refunded the money I spent for unnecessary battery replacement. I truly had a horrible customer experience and will never go to Midas again nor will recommend Midas to another person. read more

Don't waste your precious time on this garbage garage, they are not reliable, have bad manners and screw you over whenever possible. I took my car there and they repaired a ball joint and control arm on the passenger side, one week later I took it back because there was still noise in my front end, the extremely rude old man Mike Morrison, obstinately told me there was nothing wrong. Of course since I drive 100's of kilometres for my job I have to have a reliable car so I took it to the Suzuki dealer and they said the tie rod ends and the steering tie rod as well as the drivers side ball joint were also gone. So of course I was angry and upset, I called Anwar (can't understand most of what he says) the owner and told him what Suzuki discovered only 2 weeks after his rude mechanic so apparently thoroughly repaired my car and he could care less, so I went in today to discuss it, still they were not hearing what I said simply because they didn't want to. This was an infuriating experience and I will report them to BBB and Midas. The problems I am having with my front end are very dangerous and they are hazardous, I shouldn't even be driving the car when these things are faulty. Do yourself a favour and don't go to this garage. I had similar bad service at the Midas on Bathurst and Bloor, a technician put the ball joint on incorrectly so that Suzuki had to dissemble it and put it in properly two weeks later, again because of noise. They must also sell subpar parts because I had to get two ball joints put on the car only after driving about 8,000 k they should last about 100,000 k. Cheap, sloppy, unpleasant and rude, I will never darken that door again. This Eastern European old man should do us all a favour and retire!!!!!!!!! read more
