May 6th 2026 had an oil change for 1pm, wasn't ready until after 5pm. Also the oil change dind't actually occur. No sticker, no computer reset. Maybe it was a mistake, but the response was to refund my credit card for the service?? It's not a refund if there was no service performed. I called the last shop to verify the make an model of the filter that they had installed and it's the one still installed (ACDelco). I called Midas and asked what filter they had installed and their records showed Purolator. I wanted more than a refund this is ridiculous, and possibly fraudulent. If it was a mistake then the fact that they overbook so much that this can happen is ridiculous. I have and sent them the pictures clearly showing this is not a new filter, but I got a refund on services not provided. read more

Worst experience ever. I have been a customer here for a few years, but after my latest experience I will never be back. They've recently changed hands, and the new management is unorganized and terrible. I made an appointment online and no one confirmed. I went in and confirmed in person and mentioned I had selected the "inspection" option on my appointment, and that I wanted to "wait for my vehicle". When I dropped it off they told me they couldn't do it while I waited (so it took ALL DAY). I had my tires swapped and they didn't do the inspection. When I asked about it they said to bring it back in a few weeks when it was less busy. When I called back to arrange, the lady on the phone was only interested in telling me they don't do inspections, even though it had been acknowledged by management already. She finally conceded and I was given a time to come. When I arrived I couldn't even get on the lot it was so packed, even though they told me to come at that time. While I was parked on the side of Danforth with my hazards on, waiting, the same lady came out to talk to me, so I said "I'd rather not argue with you" as I had no interest in going over it again. She then walked back to the lot and audibly called me an asshole to the manager, who was moving cars. When I confronted him about it he said he'd "talk to her". I asked for an apology and was told "I can't make another adult apologize". That goes for employees too I guess. He said he would call me back about the inspection and didn't. Wow is all I can say. My oil change coupon included a multi-point inspection, so when the job was done I was presented with a summary of their findings. My brake fluid was apparently very low. They wanted to find the leak, and would start with a total engine degreasing, blah, blah, blah... What they didn't know was that I'd had brake work done just days earlier. There was nothing wrong with my brake fluid level. This sort of deliberate institutionalized fraud is far too common. Just have them do the work you came in for and say No to anything else. read more

I came in to get a second opinion/estimate for 2 wheel bearing replacements. After explaining to them that, as a struggling single mom, I had to shop around for the best price for my car's maintenance, they came back with an estimate of $1350 for the work -- nearly DOUBLE the $750 estimate I'd already recieved elsewhere!! When I looked up the estimated costs for time and parts online for this job (and called 3 other shops) they all came in at approx $750! When I confronted the "gentleman" at Danforth Midas , he was condescending and dismissive and even charged me an INFLATED cost for looking at my car and providing me with his rediculas rip off of an estimate, -- but he did then offered me a 10% discount....! In my opinion, these people will clearly try to pray on your (percieved) ignorance and will undoubtabley try to take advantage of people. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

I am usually not the one dealing with car issues; however, tables have turned and I had to figure out a place to get my car fixed on my own. After researching online, reading reviews, I was still uncertain on where to go for the repairs. I was recommended a few places by friends and family that I investigated for price, service and satisfaction. I narrowed down the choice to Midas at 769 Bathurst Street and two more, but decided to go with Midas after some more thought. Still hesitant due to my first time engaging in this endeavour, I drove to the workshop and started explaining my issue. When I entered the workshop, I received a warm welcome from the receptionist. I started explaining the issue with my car. Being a student with no solid source of income, I wanted to ensure I don't get trapped with a huge bill at the end of the service, but still get the best possible service. Having already inquired from several places, I was very satisfied with the estimate that I was provided. The employees appeared to be very knowledgable, polite and professional. They were transparent in regards to the issues with my car and its prognosis had I left it unresolved. There was no instance during which I felt that they were rude or trying to establish dominance due to my lack of knowledge about cars. All in all, my car was fixed the same day, my bank account wasn't drained and I left the workshop happier not only because my car was fixed, but also because of the social interaction I had with the employees there. I have been using Midas Danforth off and on for about 12 years now (off when our car was under warranty still). They have always gone out of their way to be helpful. They even had someone pick my car up at work (N of 401!) and pick me up again after work, so I wasn't stuck with no way to get to work. Barb at the front desk is super helpful. read more

I have to give these guys 5 stars for customer service, price, professionalism, honesty and location. I looked them up on Yelp unfortunately not seeing many reviews. Since I was only going in for an oil change and tire rotation I thought trying them out would be safe. I found Geoff the receptionist very personable and easy to talk to, the mechanic was also much the same. Just friendly and nice. Treated me like a customer which is very important. They didn't try to push anything on me, and told me to keep an eye (so to speak) on my brakes. They told me my brakes were at 30-40% and should be replaced in the fall. I appreciated their honesty. They also asked me if I had my spark plugs replaced recently as it was time to do this, according to the maintenance schedule on my Jeep, but because I had this done already they didn't replace them. They were totally cool about it. Price wise, I'm really impressed. $52 for an oil change and tire rotation. Pretty awesome. read more

friendly, cost for standard oil change with tax is 51.43 with environmental fee, call to make appointment same day at least during the weekdays, takes around 50 minutes. I saw some water, coffee, and juice available. there is a speedy close by but this one showed up first on yelp for some reason. there is a red rocket coffee close by (12 minute walk each way) where a double Machiato comes to 3.15 or something and they have water with ice. read more

Brought my 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee in for new pads and rotors all around, oil change / tire rotation. Took longer than I hoped, I made a 2pm appointment but it wasn't ready until 3pm the following day (they were very busy I will say). But great service, the cost was slightly cheaper than several other shops I called as well (Canadian Tire quoted $200 more withoit tax). These people will scam you. I purchased a voucher to get three oil changes there. It was a huge pain in the neck to use it. I would schedule an appointment, take my car in, then they would make up some excuse as to why that day didn't qualify. For example, Saturdays don't qualify according to what they tell you when you go it, but it doesn't say that on the voucher. After talking with the owner on the phone while I was in the store, I managed to get my oil changed. I was sure that this is the kind of place that doesn't actually change your oil or filter but they just tell you they did. After much haggling each time, I managed to get two of three oil changes I was entitled to. They refused to do the third one and I figured I had had it, not worth arguing about with a bunch of crooks who probably aren't even changing the oil filter but saying that they are. Do not go there. I called Midas head office to try to get this sorted out and they were just as bad. read more

Brought my car there because there was a noise coming from the engine compartment. They charged me $90 to look at it and told me my air conditioner compressor needed to be replaced. It took three of them to look at it and they were still wrong. Turned out to be a problem in the transmission. Noise was coming from a completely different area than the air conditioner compressor. I was extremely pleased with the service at Midas on the Danforth. I was intimidated to go into a shop with my car as I am a young female who knows next to nothing about cars. I was nervous about not getting my moneys worth and going into an environment full of men. I was given a fair price, a detailed explanation as to what should be done with my car, but there was no pressure to get it done that day or even at that location. When I arrived I was warmly greeted by a female who was very friendly. There was even coffee and refreshments offered to me in the waiting area which was very warm and inviting. I had a coupon from a flyer dropped in my mailbox. I mentioned it when I dropped off the car, then left it on the seat when I dropped off the car. They overcharged me, and the coupon was gone when I picked up the car! The manager claimed there was no such coupon out there. I have been taking my car(s) to the Midas Danforth shop for about four years and would go nowhere else. All staff are pleasant and friendly as well as highly efficient . If any additional services are required, these are outlined before they are done, with the faulty parts presented so customer can decide whether to have the work done. Midas on Danforth 5 starts out of 5 - would recommend their services to all. Pros: Service, Price, Competency, Knowledge. Situation: because of a move I was searching for a new auto repair shop I could trust for my 2014 SUV. I found Midas on Danforth on line, which was on my way to the Lake House from work. I started with a small work order: oil change, and as I was very satisfied with all, I returned for tire change for the season, storage, and for my break work. I recommend this place for many reasons: 1) Online: I was able to request my appointments on line, and I did get responses right away. While they repaired the car: I stay in the waiting room and got a great place to work, free WiFi. 2) Respect: They respected the appointment time, they told me 1:00 and they were able to take my car in at 1:00 and start working on it. Appointments respected every time. I also saw walk in, they accommodate them, but people with appointment are not moved to accommodate more business. 3) Knowledge: They have updated their tools, they do research, they keep themselves updated about current developments in their field, they put the right resources and tools to maximum use, changing resource depending on challenge and knowledge required. Staff seems happy and very competent. The time they say it would take for my work: they were right on. 4) Transparent: you can see your car being worked on, it is not like other places when you go in the waiting room and wait for hours without updates, you see all and they come back with updates, good communication, showing all, price, ... you become part of the decision. 5) Empowerment: They 'listen' to your needs. We are not all the same and we don't have all the same requirements, they offer choices. Explain the differences, you can clearly hear reliable information and sound judgment. You are not forced into certain decisions, you remain in control. And they don't try to sell you anything at all, they inform you. 6) COST: this was better than all services I previously got; in addition they had great promotion I took advantage of. 7) Leadership; the owner is there working in the office, he assumes a very strong leadership and influences positively others. His knowledge and communication skills are great. Any question you may have, he would happily give you all the information you need. And he relies on the right people with their ability for each part of the work. All are working well as one team. 8) Ethics and trust: this is important for me. The way I was treated and how I saw many people being treated, all with very different needs, it was amazing, helping all, not taking advantage of situations, searching for best depending on budget. To close this review: Trusting your car repair place is a safety issue as well as a financial concern. You stay with your physician and your dentist if you like all of their offerings: not only the work they perform and their knowledge, but it is also about the experience.
