Well, they only replaced the battery, and the car died an hour after pick-up. Turns out, it needed a new alternator, despite my confirming prior to pick-up that it didn't. Instead, I was told that the old one passed their tests and that it was ready to be taken back early. I can already hear the reply to this review saying, "we said it needed more tests before you take it." This is a flat-out lie. I was told it needed new rear brakes, not more alternator tests. I'm not even going to get started on the fact that they replaced the wrong brakes and still charged us for it. Overall, service is very overpriced and very dishonest.

This Walmart Auto Center in Terre Haute saved my day…read more After changing my tires at a Walmart near St Louis (not this one, a different one in Missouri), I noticed that my tire light came on. I drove back to that Walmart, and they checked the tire. It was a few pounds low, and they added air. I asked them if they could figure out why a brand new tire was leaking air. They told me that it wasn't a big deal, and that it was only a few pounds. I told them, that I was driving 800 miles and could not afford a mistake, could they please check it? They told me that if I had another problem, to stop at any Walmart in the country. Well, a couple of hours down the road, and the light came on again. I continued driving, but could feel the car pulling left. I was also pulling a motorcycle trailer. The closest Walmart on my route, was the Terre Haute location. I got there less than an hour before closing. They were very busy. I explained the situation. They lent me a floor jack, so I could unhook my trailer and drive up the car to the doors. They put me in line, and within a short while, checked my tires. It turns out, that the other store had not properly installed my valve stem! The Terre Haute store checked out my tires, and quickly got me back on the road. They went over and above by helping me align the trailer ball, and hook the trailer back up to my car. Excellent job. This is the place you should go for tires, oil, and batteries. Thanks Guys!

I know they changed owners a while back, sadly. A few days ago I had a bad noise coming from the front of my car, serpentine belt related. One of the idler pulleys came off while driving there. I left it for an estimate. Well, I get a call the next day and they quote me 2 prices. With bad pulleys and belt - $527 With tensioner, all pulleys, and belt $1,157. I was gobsmacked. Im on social security so i told them no and picked up after paying the diagnostic fee. I have always worked on my own cars until i turned 69,, lol. Decided to do it myself. Gates Serpentine Kit $325. Turns out it is an easy job on my Infiniti G37X. Less than an hour start to finisn. I know garages charge more on parts but even if kit was $600 that would be $550 for labor. Like i say i know everything is more expensive. Seems like they want timing belt replacement prices for a serpentine belt. I need recommendations for a new shop.​

Have been taking my car to Wilguess for years & they are the best and most reasonable place in the whole city (to my knowledge). They do engine maintenance, drum & rotor work, and pretty much any general car issue. They do NOT do the following; body work, glass replacement, electrical/wiring issues, wheel alignments. Wilguess is a mom&pop local store, they are ONLY open 8-5 M-F (they close promptly at 5pm). You must call and make an appointment, or else just drop off your car & they will get to it in 2-3days time. They are soo reasonable on price. As standard they will use NEW parts, but if you request they will buy USED to save you some extra cash. Used parts like headlights & stuff. Very knowledgeable mechanics, no BS with you. Might be quiet or gruff at first, BUT ask them questions & they go out of their way to help answer it. I ALWAYS ask where they would take their car for some service & am always happy with their recommendations. In a nutshell, give Wilguess a chance. They are 100% local & you will be totally satisfied with your experience. PS: No shuttle service.
