Alright, I gotta make things right by leaving this crew a review. I've had two different vehicles worked on by these folks. The first one I dropped off before I went to work they diagnosed and fixed the problem before I got off so that I'd be able to drive home. There ended up being an issue a couple days after, turns out the part they installed had a factory malfunction. They took it in and replaced it right away no questions asked in two hours. So I brought my van in cause the steering was loose, the guy called me and told me that they could fix all the issues same day and I'd be back on the rode by the time I was off work. I had them do the work. Today I went to leave on a trip in my van and about 30 mins into my drive I heard a weird noise so I pulled over to check and I was dripping and spraying fluid all over the place. I luckily wasn't too far from this shop. I decided to go in and see what the hell was going on. Being super tired and annoyed I was pretty much a huge jerk and went in acting like it was their fault and told them they needed to fix it so I can get on with my trip. Well. Turns out I was completely wrong. It was actually my transmission line spraying fluid everywhere because my father in law apparently "fixed the small leak I had" when I was at work one day. Even though I was a jerk, these guys called around and did their best to find me another shop that would be able to fit me in so I can go on my trip. My college-aged son took his car in for brake repairs here recently. He told the man helping him (Sam) that it was his first time bringing a car in for repair by himself so he wasn't sure what he was doing and that his Dad would be the one paying for the work and needed to ok it. Unfortunately, I'm sure you see where this is going. Sam proceeded to write up an estimate that included a lot more than the requested brake repair. Then he got my son to sign an agreement without checking with his Dad (saying he would get in touch with him to discuss it) and without fully explaining that by signing, my son was agreeing to have all the work done. What Sam did may not be "technically" wrong (my son is a legal adult, as Sam so helpfully reminded me), but it was definitely ethically wrong. We would not have approved all the work that was included. My son trusted Sam (wouldn't it be nice to be able to trust people?), and Sam took advantage of his inexperience. It was not a "miscommunication", it was shady. We will not go there again. read more

I was charged $175 to diagnose my check engine light, then was told I had wire damage and it would be $1000 starting rate to even diagnose and work on the wires! What a rip off! I don't mind paying for my repairs but to charge me AGAIN to further diagnose is absolutely insane!!!! I already paid to have the engine diagnosed. I'll NEVER be back there again!!.. and I'll tell all my friends and family never to go there either. Lastly, the older Arabic guy at the front desk is so rude!! Shameful!! read more

My ac mysteriously stopped working after they convinced me to let them look at my AC filter while doing an oil change. I asked them to fix what they broke and was told they intend to charge me $150 just to look at it. I paid $140 for an Engine diagnostic test because my engine light was on and to check my Right front wheel bearing. when I got the invoice and looked at it. it only said,Refer to trans shop! No indication of what the problem was with the transmission or whether or not the Right front wheel bearing needed to be replace. I was so caught up in the transmission problem I forgot about the Right front wheel bearing. So this one is not for me!!!!!! read more

I can't speak highly enough of the service I always receive when I bring my car here. However, the last visit takes the cake. For this repair, I originally took my car to a tire store down the street because it was closer and I was at risk of the car dying. I wasn't going to take that gamble. After this other shop told me I need both a battery and an alternator and they made up lies about why both are more expensive than a typical battery and alternator, I decided that I needed to take it elsewhere. I've always got good service from this particular Midas so, naturally, I decided to take it to them. They checked it out and came to the conclusion that I only needed an alternator and the price for the part was $100 less than what I was originally quoted. Thanks for your honesty and for a total bill that was half the price of my original quote from the other shop who has now lost a customer. I highly recommend taking your car to this Midas! Very helpful! They did an inspection on my car as ordered by Uber since I'm an Uber driving partner and Chris in particular was amazing. He spoke up front about the pros and cons and ins and out of the inspection for my 2008 Kia Sportage and it was money well spent. I initially took my car into Midas to replace my rear brake rotors, front brake pads, rear brake drums, brake calipers and rear wheel cylinders. I told the manager that I could leave my car and that I could pick it up around 5:30pm. At 3:30pm, the manager called my cell asking me to pick up my vehicle because they had a family emergency and needed to close up. I paid the $710 and drove away. Coming up to the first stop light, I hit my brakes and my pedal went all the way to the floor. So, I called the manager and he told me that they "were in a rush" and that's why my car was not fixed correctly. The next morning I dropped my car off to fix the issue. I picked my car up that afternoon and immediately tested my brakes only to hear a loud clicking noise coming from the rear. Again, I took my car in the next morning. A new manager was there. He assured me that the noise was because I had all new parts and that I should give it a week and if the noise continued, to bring it back. The noise grew louder and I noticed my rear driver-side brakes were already completely covered in rust. Once again, I took my car back in and dropped it off for the day. When I returned the manager told me that he couldn't quite figure out where the noise was coming from and that he'd replace everything they installed if I could leave my car overnight. On Tuesday, May 19th I returned to drop my car off so they could do what they promised. However, there was a new manager by that time who was unaware of my situation. I explained what had happened in the past and that I wanted the issue resolved. Manager says, "No problem." Later that day, I received a call telling me that the clicking sound was not being caused by my brakes and that it would be an additional charge to fix. I told him that I had already paid an outrageous amount for everything to be fixed. I had never had a sound coming from my brakes before I dropped my car off at Midas. That afternoon I called customer service, explained my situation and expected them to rectify their mistake. Two days later, I received a call from a customer service representative. The rep told me that he spoke to the store manager and he told the rep that the issue was not brake related. I don't care what the cause of the problem is. I just know that I brought my car into Midas a total of 5 times, spent over $700 on brakes and now have a car that is in worse shape than when I had dropped it off the first time. Can't tell you how furious I am right now. I will never EVER return to another Midas. read more

I rarely write reviews - however the service I received from Brian and the staff at Midas on Telegraph and 10 mile was outstanding. It was very early in the morning and I had a problem with my car - I went to a gas station where the person behind the counter could not have been less helpful - I spotted Midas and got my car there. Brian was awesome. Even though they were not really open - he had one of the workers look at my vehicle - he got me going so I could make it to work - they located the part I needed - I came back - and it was fixed perfectly. This Midas location has the best staff - I will definitely be back - It is worth the trip if you want professional and friendly service and your car is in excellent hands. read more

Stay away from the location and all Midas, the same franchise John XXXX owner has most in the area. I paid over $500 for brakes and rooters, my car still squeaks, it actually screams when I stop. I returned and Brian Gilbert the service manager accessed the issue wrote and sign to replace rooters and breaks, which were already paid for and brand new. After the parts got delivered to the store, I returned and was refused service. I have the manger on tape refusing me service, after he signed the document to replace them. I want a refund, I didn't pay to have the same issues I came in for. This location the management and the staff are all scammers. There are sooooo many complaints against this and all local stores. STAY AWAY DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. At this point the company doesn't care about my safety, I have a warranty on parts that they are not willing to fix, very shady business here. contacted the Midas on Telegraph in Southfield to inquire about tires. I spoke to Larry and not only did he find me a great deal on a new set of tires I was also able to receive a free wheel alignment but also a one year road hazard warranty for my set of tires. They took me same day and finished in 1 1/2 hours and washed by car. I highly recommend this location and a huge thank you to this entire team for your excellent customer service. I never write reviews for ANYTHING, but this place absolutely deserves one. I went in to get my window fixed and the gentleman that works there, Chris, was such a great help. He found out what the problem was and when we found out it was going to take a couple hours to fix, he offered to drop me home and pick me up once my car was done. I have never had such great service and someone offer to do such a nice thing! And not to mention, the prices here are very reasonable! I would definitely recommend this place! read more

Midas gave us a price to repair a loud muffler. Withing weeks of the repair the noise started again and Midas charged us to repair the second half of the muffler. While the car was on the hoist Midas illegally removed the Catalytic Converter. The car is still loud and we have had to have an auto dealer work on the car to ensure the light related to the stolen converter Midas removed did not indicate other problems. Service to fix the exhaust system Midas worked on so far is $200.00. The Ford dealer now wants an additional $1,800.00 to replace the exhaust system and to install a new Catalytic Converter. So far the $700.00 we paid to Midas is the most expensive repair we have had. read more

I am not happy with the Midas shop at 10 mile/Telegraph, Southfield, MI because they have been dishonest with us, which has cost us over $3,000 dollars. We have met with the owner and he does not stand by his service and is not trust worthy. Because this location has a great reputation in my book; the manager is very friendly and makes a great effort to relate with you and not just your car; and there was even fresh coffee brewed....also the most important thing is the quality of their work; they got me the tires I wanted, an oil change and repaired my outer tie rods...and my vehicle drives like new again ! I am very happy with my experience this Midas. They caught problems other mechanics missed and went out of their way to help me. Rob looked around for a good price on a used catalytic converter for me because a new one was so pricey. He ended up finding me one by Midas that was new and cost less with labor than a used one would. The service was quick and very reasonably priced. Plus they just treated me well. Fantastic service! I regularly come to this location for oil changes, however, recently I had a headlight out and my engine light turned on. They were able to identify what needed to be repaired within minutes. They have a very friendly staff and affordable prices. They both dropped me off and picked me up at my office. Going to this franchise was one of the biggest mistakes my wife and I have ever made. Management is simply incompetent. When we called the Corporate offices to complain, nobody called us back. Midas has lost us as customers and we highly advise anyone to avoid this location like the plague. On October 4, 2014 we presented my wife's car to this location because it was stalling at red lights and hesitating during acceleration. They made a quick repair and the car was ready. The problem is, the manager closed the location early because they "were slow" and we couldn't pick the car up before they closed. When we returned on Monday, October 6, 2014 to retrieve the vehicle my wife experienced the same symptoms as soon as she left the shop. We couldn't take it back until the following Saturday October 11, 2014. The problems during our visit on October 11 were vast: (1) Management showed up LATE despite having a line of 5 -10 people waiting for the store to open; (2) One of techs remembered my wife's car and took a quick look. Said we had a PCV valve leak (3) When management finally showed up, he had his entire family in toe. It was like take your child to work day. (4) When we relayed the PCV valve diagnosis to the manager, he dismissed the diagnosis said "we need to run tests". He also said he would reprimand the tech who performed the diagnosis (5) we never got a call about the car, when we showed up that afternoon, the car hadn't moved management said the car wasn't showing the symptoms we described. But when we started it up the care started showing symptoms right away. Management looked at the car & said "you have a PCV leak". To which we said that's what the guy who you dismissed this morning said! (6) I called corporate to complain about our visit. Over a week has passed and nobody has responded. In the end we got the problem fixed for free, but the unprofessional management and corporate's lack of a sense of urgency with regards to our complaint has lead us to find another repair shop to fix our vehicles. read more

The manager was so rude I left. Obviously these people are complete amateurs. Run from this place! They don't deserve any business. If how I was treated is any indication, I would recommend going somewhere else. I can't imagine if I had actually had any work done. These kind of people give auto repair shops a bad name. Keep in mind most of these Midas shops are independently owned, so another Midas shop may be great, but this one, stay away! read more
