I am a long time customer of Discount Tire for multiple vehicles. Discount Tire in Lathrup Village…read moreis the truth! Their hazard insurance/certificate is a great value with pothole season upon us. My dashboard was continuously indicating one tire was experiencing low pressure even after adding air a couple times and another tire had a visible bulge on it. The Discount Tire team work on a rotation at the service counter. On my recent visit, I had the pleasure of getting the Service Assistant Manager, Tyler Baur. He indicated the bulge was most likely caused by hitting a pothole and the bulge was the indication of what was happening inside the tire. He got my other tire looked at and they determined there was a small piece of metal causing a slow leak that they were able to remove. My hazard certificate took care of replacing the other tire with the bulge. So, I received a $180 tire replacement plus a repair of the other for me to be out the door for less than $34. I'm confident and pleased that my tires are in a good and safe condition for the road. Thank you Tyler and Discount Tire!

It's now over ten minutes of trying to reach them and I'm on hold as I write this. Get a VA or answering service. You're losing business from frustrated customers like me. I've bought at least 4 sets of tires here but the service has gotten worse and worse over the years. I originally came here for tires in the winter but the lines were insane so I waited til May when I figure they'll be slow but it doesn't seem to help.

The staff was real nice and understood that I needed the car done quickly. They checked too see what They could do. They said it'll take about hour to hour and half, but about 20 mins in, they had already pulled my car in the bay. Found that I had hit a nail causing a small hole, which they patched up. Checked for more leaks and I was all set. The guy working was real cool he didn't even charge me, saw that I had bought the tires in December. Was out within about 40-45 mins and back on the road.

What John, my salesman, explained to me was that Brent, the mechanic, had put the brake caliber on backwards on the front driver's side. I noticed no mention was made of that on the report I was given. That concerns me because I think more concern was being given to saving face for a bad mechanic than the safety of customers. Brent's irresponsible workmanship was compounded by his negligence. If he had test driven the car, he would have heard the ticking noise and known something was wrong. That kind of negligence could cause brake failure and the unnecessary loss of a life. I hope management takes this seriously. To know a problem exists and do nothing is to possibly have blood on your hands. Some things the staff got right. John told me to bring the car back even though it was after the closing time of 8 pm. And the master mechanic, Paul, patiently tracked down the problem and was able to fix it. Thank goodness for that.

I get back in the car he puts them on quickly and puts my car bag on the ground. While he's putting my donut back in my trunk I notice the tire he just put on has a nail in it (but with brown goop around it) this sheister tried to sell me my same tire and didn't realize he put the tire on nail side up so I could see it(before I drove off). I explained to him that was too much of a coincidence for me and that I'd feel much comfortable with another tire. He pissed and moaned and groaned and frowned while putting me a different tire on. He thought he was getting a free 70 bucks outta me ughhh! The short, Caucasian guy with no teeth! He was rude and when he finished I tried to explain my logic and still thanked him for his service and he was angry and walked off lol!

My choices were $55, $65 or $75, depending on tread. He said $75 was excellent tread, I said go for it. So the dude with the ponytail tells me to pull up by the middle jack, stay in my car and bing bang boom he's done, give him my credit card and on my way. This is what he did to my car(pics to follow). Went back to show him, got ignored for half an hour, , finally just spoke up as he was blatantly ignoring me, my son stopped me from having a total meltdown as he was changing tire on a gorgeous G wagon, reminding me we were in Ferndale, but still on 8 mile. Point taken.

Unfortunately, on a Sunday morning there are not a lot of choices to choose from...then I googled closest mechanic near me and this place popped up. I called ahead and was quickly greeted by a nice guy who told me to bring my car in and the team will take a look at it. I slowly drove over to the mechanic shop and was pleasantly surprised by how clean the shop was AND the professionalism of the staff. The gentlemen working the front desk was very nice and made me feel really comfortable. I ended up getting more air in all of my tires by another super nice gentlemen who was happy to help me. They checked all four of my tires to ensure I was ready for the road. It's safe to say, I truly appreciated that they were not only open on a Sunday when everyone else was closed but how fast, efficient, and KIND every person was. What I loved most was the fact no one tried to sell me on anything and the staff seemed to really care about me - the customer. For this alone, I definitely can see the value of of coming when my car needs additional service. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the area and in need of an excellent team to take care of your vehicle.

I came to this business to get a slow leak fixed. They proceeded to try and sell me two new tires instead of just fixing the slow leak. I told them I didn't want to buy two new tires today; especially since they were pricing them over and above what was being offered on the Goodyear site for the same tires. I asked them why that was. They came some bs excuse that the price online wasn't including the labor or the road protection plan. REALLY! I wonder if they would have pulled the same crap, if I was a guy!! I thanked them for their time. They said they understood and would fill the tire before giving me the keys back. Well, guess what they didn't even put air in the tire. This is the car that my 18 yr old daughter drives to get her back and forth to school. Real class act they are, not!! I definitely will not be spending my money there. I was able to get the tire fixed at Costco. I will be buying the tires from a business that isn't trying to cheat or lie to me and offers excellent customer service.
