I've started coming to Midas in Shelby Twp on a recommendation from a friend 7 years ago. I was told to "see Brad" he's a great guy. My friend was right! I still come to this day and couldn't be happier. Brad treats you like family and truly cares about your vehicle(s). My coworker merely called and asked a question regarding her vehicle. They tried to gaslight her and say that the reason her car was pulling left is due to the fact that all her tires were showing metal. Whomever she spoke to proceeded to call a family friend and say that my coworker called and screamed at him and was extremely rude, and is now refusing to work on her car. So not only is he extremely unprofessional, but he is misogynist and downright rude. I have no doubt in my mind if my coworker was male this would not be happening. Brought mt car in to have the exhaust run from the manifolds to the back of the car. Picked it up and took it home, It scraped the new mufflers going up my driveway. So i looked to see what was done, they welded 2 straight pipes to the the old cats the were supposed to be removed. The exhaust hung 2" off the ground, there wasn't ONE bend in either pipes. Funny thing is, they did my other same car last year beautifully. Which is why i went back. I talked to the tech that was doing the work and i even told him the exhaust manifold bolts were just off and he wouldn't have any issues with bolts breaking. Nobody ever said a word about cats are illegal for them to remove, and wouldn't been an issue if the tech would've listened to our conversation about goin from the manifolds back, which is what it told the service manager when i brought it in. I called to complain, tech wouldn't talk to me because he said i was yelling at him...I have every right i be mad about the hack job they gave me. they're all set to fight with you if you have an issue with the lousy job i got. the communication skills this place has between the tech and service manager stinks! What do you expect from a manger that wears his hat backwards...so non professional. Not worth any stars. read more

I'd heard that this Midas shop was by far the best place to go to get your car fixed because they're very honest, and it's true! I knew there was a problem with my exhaust system and was worried they'd tell me the muffler or entire system needed to be replaced, which many dishonest shops would have done. I was very pleasantly surprised when they said it only needed to be patched and charged me just $75. As a female who was there alone, they could have easily taken advantage and charged me for work I didn't need. This honesty is likely why they're so much busier than every other shop near me. read more

Okay I am blown away. These guys came highly recommended by my friend's dad. And I'm pretty skeptical of auto shops, having never really having found one I felt like wasn't taking me to the cleaners. UNTIL NOW!! Oh my gosh these guys are incredible. Brad up at the front is great, he's the man, incredible customer service, timely updates, and the auto service was so affordable for the monetary value. Fast turnaround, honest and friendly staff, and will go out of their way to help you out in a pinch. I can't tell you how many times I've had issues with different vehicles and I immediately go into panic mode and all the shops I used in the past aren't able to make accommodations to get me in. The guys at Midas especially (Richie) always has my back, usually is able to get my car in the same day and I always get a straight forward and honest answer. VERY dishonest (typical of Midas): Went in for a brake inspection, got quoted almost $1,300 for rear brake shoes, drums, seals, bearings, and a brake flush. I wanted a second opinion, but told them to order the parts and will be back next week. I later that week went to the Toyota dealership (FOX Toyota of Rochester) and they inspected the brakes, told me I was being scammed and all I needed was a brake adjustment and a brake flush, all for about $140. SAVED over $1,000 by checking elsewhere! I advise anyone who wants a brake inspection to stay away from this Midas location (or Midas in general) and always check elsewhere first for a second opinion. read more

Like the reviewer before me, I will never come back to Midas for any services. I had a coupon for getting an oil change thinking I would save some money. I end up paying an extra $75.00 more for work that they think is necessary. The coupon came with a free tire rotation which ended up costing me more than what the coupon is worth. Bottom line is that their free services are a way for them to ensnare you into costly services. read more

I have to agree with the others. They didn't want to honor my coupon for a competitor's shop. They charged me for an extra 1/2 quart of oil, even though NOBODY else ever has. They gave me one price over the phone, then wrote it up with a different and higher price while I was there. They gave me a "free" tire rotation (no, it's really not free) for $20. They wrote down the tire pressures as being normal, even though I knew what they were before I went in, and they were completely different psi than what my car's computer, as well as my instrument were reading. Fact is, they just never really checked them except to eyeball it and guess. They left greasy foot prints all over my driver's side carpeting even though I saw them taking plastic off my seat. Guess they're not worried about protecting the floor. My steering wheel was just as dirty from those grease monkeys. I won't go back there if you paid me to!! read more

TERRIBLE!!!!!!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! I brought my jeep grand cherokee in to have new headlights put in. The guy who installed them put the right headlight in wrong and at night I can't even see the road now. He claimed there was a problem with the part, not his service. BULLSH*T! They were brand new parts. And he never communicated any issues to me while I was there. I never was able to get a refund either. AVOID AT ALL COST. These people do not know what they are doing. Look at all the other reviews, they should be out of business for ripping people off. I will be reporting them. read more

I have used them a few times now, and have always been happy with there work. But what is more impressive is there honesty, we took a car in because an oil change place said we needed a radiator flush. We took the car in to Midas and they called to inform us everything was fine. Took the same car in yesterday because the muffler was hanging and needed to be welded back to the brackets. They called to inform me there was a leak in one of the pipes and it would cost $149.00 to replace it. I told them to do it. I went to pick it up and they informed me they were able to patch it, saving me $75.00. I will take all my vehicles there without any hesitation. read more
