I used to love coming to this place but their prices have become outrageous. I got my rear breaks and rotors replaced. When I mentioned how much I was charged to a friend I was told I was completely taken advantage of. So I did my research. Breaks are $52.99 per set and rotors are $82.99 each. I was charged $119.99 for break pads and $149.99 per rotor. The whole job was $695.37 which is typically what it costs for both front and back breaks and rotors to be replaced. I would not recommend coming here. Go to your local independent auto spot instead. You're not only supporting a small business but you will also save yourself a lot of money.

To impact marks, one rather large, a smaller one at the bottom of the photo that created a crack

Had my car over night to try and diagnose an electrical issue. Went in on the afternoon the following day, car wouldn't start as the battery had been drained. Had to leave an additional night. Picked it up the next day after I was told they didn't have the ability or understanding to fix the issue. Upon getting into my car, I discovered my windshield had been cracked, an issue that previously didn't exist. Two impact marks left from a tool dropped. Chris the manager, who when was told my windshield was cracked, asked which one? Not a great sign when the manager doesn't know what a windshield is. I pointed out the crack and impact marks to him, to which he said, not our fault, we didn't touch the windshield. Only the front door and engine bay, though as I drove by the night before to see where they parked it, it was left under an Owl Transport van in heavy disrepair on a lift. Wouldn't acknowledge that the inspection report stated nothing about my cracked windshield, despite it mentioning my brakes are at 60%, the tread life on my front tires was getting low and I may want to replace that, what my oil looked like. All important information from the initial inspection. Chris refused to acknowledge the damage or take responsibility for the liability this presents driving the vehicle.if it was there initially, to safeguard themselves, they would have recorded it. It was not. When you leave a car with a mechanic, you at minimum expect it in the same condition as you left it, not as it was returned to me. Under previous management, this place was decently run, now it's a truly questionable.

No Star Rating. The guy in San Leandro who new what there were doing retired. Took my mini Cooper for an oil change. Left saying it was my spark plugs and they made my check engine sign come on. Left with all the oil spilling brought it back. Said they fixed it it they only spilled a little oil and now it's my heater that is spilling. They messed up my car trying to change oil and now want to charge me. Don't take here. They still didn't even change my oil filter. Stay away from this place!

    Love this place! Highly recommend

This is been the place that I take my Mitsubishi Montero XLS "Maria" for years. After moving to the bay area I looked for a reliable trustworthy person to work on my car, I didn't want any bullshit and I didn't get any here with Paul. I've had my oil changed here, my O2 sensor changed and when the check engine light comes on, it's Paul's place you'll find me! He's a real honest guy and he'll help you fix your car if somethings wrong that he can work on and he'll send you to the right people if it's something he can't fix. Also there's a really adorable cat in the front office that you should get to know, tell him I sent you. @thomasleatherboi on Instagram

Friendly staff - quick and honest service from the techs. No complaints whatsoever. Will use them for my regular oil changes in the future.

I had one of the best customer service experiences I've had in a long time at Doral Auto Repair…read more Before even coming in, John was incredibly helpful over the phone. After I told him my make and model, he suggested I pick up a replacement headlight bulb just in case and told me to come in anytime--no appointment needed. When I arrived, he immediately came out, had me open the hood, and took a look on the spot. Within less than 3 minutes, he had the new bulb installed and working perfectly. What really stood out was what happened next--I asked how much I owed him, and he told me there was no charge. That level of honesty and kindness is rare these days. John didn't try to upsell me, didn't waste my time, and didn't treat a small job like it wasn't worth his attention. He handled it with professionalism, efficiency, and genuine care. Because of that, Doral Auto Repair has earned my trust. The next time I need any work done on my car, this is exactly where I'm going. Highly recommend.

Rating: (1 Star) I…read moreused Yelp's "Get a Quote" feature expecting a straightforward price estimate. Instead of receiving a quote, I got what appeared to be an automated response telling me to "come in." The message looked scripted and didn't address the request for pricing at all. After I replied again asking for the quote Yelp indicates businesses will provide, the same scripted response was essentially copied and pasted back to me. Only after pushing further did I receive what seemed like a more direct reply stating that their insurance does not allow customer-supplied parts due to liability concerns, followed by a note that they offer a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty. That explanation would have been fine if it had been stated clearly from the beginning, instead of sending automated responses that avoided the actual request. Consumer Education: When repair shops purchase parts, they typically buy them at wholesale cost and then apply their own markup in addition to the shop's labor rate. There's nothing inherently wrong with making a profit--every business should. However, when customers ask for a quote while supplying their own parts, it can reduce that margin. Based on more than 20 years in automotive retail management and sales, my personal conclusion is that some shops simply prefer not to quote jobs where their parts markup isn't included. The bigger issue here is the Yelp listing itself. Yelp allows customers to input the vehicle, describe the work needed, and press "Get a Quote." If a shop isn't willing to provide quotes--or only wants customers to come in--then that option probably shouldn't appear on their listing, because it creates a misleading expectation for consumers trying to comparison shop first.
