If you need an Uber inspection for your vehicle DONT go there! Waste of $49. I had 4 tires replaced in less than a year and they failed my inspection. They said 1 out of 4 treads on one tire was below 32 millimetre. Then they tried to sell me tires. I went to another inspection place and passed with No issues with the tires! read more

Terrible, I would give 0 stars if I could! I went to the location on 110/Cicero to get a SLOW leak in my tire fixed. I made an appointment and still waited close to an hour and a half to get the tire repaired. A week and a half after the tire was "repaired", I walked out and found the tire completely flat. Mind you originally this was a slow leak I needed repaired. I ended up bringing the tire to another shop who said the patch was "all messed up". I wasted $50 getting the tire repaired to have to pay someone else to do the job right a little over a week later. This was a huge safety issue, I'm glad the tire didn't go out while I was on the highway.(I didn't go back to Midas because I didn't trust they'd do the job right) read more

I had an exhaust leak that was getting worse but I needed my car to drive from Oak Lawn to downtown Chicago. So I didn't have time to leave it at a shop. I called this location at 330 pm and told them my issue with the car and if I could bring it in to get it looked at and the man said yes. With traffic I got there at 4 pm and by 430 pm they had found the problem given me an estimate and were able to get the work done that day. They finished by 530 pm. read more

Service is 5-star. I dealt with Eddie and he couldn't have been nicer. I had to have major brake work done on my car - because of letting it go way too long before having my brakes done. My bad. Everything was explained to me in detailed, and shown to me. They kept in constant contact with me while the work was being done. The amount of time they told me, was accurate. I brought my vehicle in because my front passenger wheel area was making a noise everytime i turned. They called me up and told me that the front driver side axel and tie rods were going bad. I asked them what about the noise in the front passenger side. They tell me that they didn't find anything wrong with the area. So they replaced my driver side axel and tie rods. 3 weeks later the noise was even worse on my passenger side, so i brought it to a neighborhood shop. They found the problem right away and told me it was my strut. So i just figured to go ahead and have them replace both struts. Thank goodness i did because this new place i brought my vehicle to noticed that i had my axel replaced on the drive side and he said to me that they never clipped the axel rod to the transmission. So if i had to make a hard turn at a fast speed that the rod could've slid right out of the transmission and my car would've been inoperable. Needless to say, i do not recommend them and would never go back. read more

I've been going to this location in Oaklawn for the past 10 years. Eddie is the face of that vitals you explain everything to you in detail allow you to go in the shop and they will show you what needs to be done. To this day I have never had a bad experience at this location. if you have any problems with the repair you bring it back and they will fix it until it is right. I had been going to Midas for over 10 years, Eddie was so good, wish I knew where he went as I would follow him. I got a new car and have tried numerous times to get in for an oil change. Can't get an appointment, Eric is very rough, called in morning, told to try again in the afternoon, then call and 3 people ahead of me. Will now take my business elsewhere as they obviously don't care about return or loyal customers. Also, tried to make an online appt, said I would receive an email within 30 minutes, it's the next day, still no return message. read more

Midas on 110th and Cicero is my second choice in mechanics after Paton's. These guys have always been nice, explain things well, apply coupons and discounts that you probably didn't remember you got in the mail. One time there was nothing actually wrong with my car (I flooded the engine with gas pumping the pedal trying to start it...yeah, don't do that) and they didn't charge me. Nice guys. They can usually get you in and out pretty quickly. read more

This is the reason why I will NEVER use Midas again!!! I called in 30 minutes prior to my arrival to check wait times and spoke with the manager who told me that it was first come first serve. I asked him what the wait times were and he said there wasn't one. I arrive 30 minutes later and every single garage is filled with a car except for one. I ask the mechanic how long is the wait for an oil change he tells me a few hours!!! Why would you have me waste my time to come here if you weren't able to accommodate any customer within a reasonable amount of time!!! I have a huge social media presence and I will be blogging this to let all of my followers and family and friends know NOTTTTTT to EVERRRRRR do business with MIDAS!!!!! The last time I went here, I had some suspension work done and when I drove it off the lot, my brakes went out when I drove around the block. I brought it back to them, but they didn't seem interested in checking it out (which I thought they would since they were the last ones to touch it and now the car was dangerous to drive). Eddie went out looked at it briefly and told me to bring it back the next day and it would be $1200 to fix the back brake line. Just like that. Like I'm going to drive a car with minimal brakes back there for that amount. I took it to another shop and they did it for $400. After going to a few different Midas locations that I disliked I was hesitant to try the Oak Lawn location when I moved into town for an oil change. They were incredibly pleasant to work with, and told me I had a leak in my exhaust. Me, not knowing much about cars was hesitant to get it fixed. They brought me to my car and explained exactly what happened and how they would like to fix it. Then on top of it, it was super cheap! I'm not usually a big fan of franchise type mechanic shops, mostly since they don't seem to take the time to foster a relationship with a customer since they don't have as much accountability being a nationwide business with hundreds of locations. The neighborhood mechanic has a little more accountability. Either way, I ran into an exhaust issue that needed immediate attention and I was forced to stop in at this location and the manager was excellent. He was informative, honest and friendly. He proved me wrong in that it felt like he genuinely wanted to get to know me and my vehicle. Perhaps it is just because they were slow that day, but perhaps this gentleman deserves benefit of the doubt as well. If you need general maintenance done, I don't think I'd hesitate to recommend this place. read more

So far, we have been very happy with Midas service. After a few unsuccessful attempts with another chain, they gave a thorough explanation and solution to fix our car. Eddie is always friendly. This helps because the mechanic is not exactly a place that you look forward to going to. Another thing I like is that they are sensitive about your time. If it is quick, he will let you know. Otherwise, he gives a pretty accurate estimate for time. This way, if you can arrange for a ride or make other plans instead sitting there for the afternoon. Because of the economy I have changed from buying new cars to buying used cars. My biggest fear as a used car owner was being taken advantage of by auto repair shops. The guys are great, the service is quick, repairs top of the line and the prices are so affordable, I found this shop about 9 years ago and I refuse to take my vehicle anywhere else and so will you.
