My husband brought my car here, even though there is a Midas within walking distance of where we live, because they had a better price on an oil change. He was very impressed with the staff. More so when we discovered the car was leaking oil after the oil change, when they were very accommodating to get us back in to check to see why. Our family was in town from out of state and the check engine light came on. A auto parts store employee recommended Midas in Longmont. At Midas we were told the bill was thousands to fix the car and that our car is an anomaly, which it is not. It is a Honda, made by Honda. The man at the front desk talks a great talk but he is a shyster, lying to us at least twice. Our car was "fixed" temporarily but the engine light came back on the next day. Midas worked on the car again and then told us to "drive it like we stole it" because the additive that they put into it would start working after many miles. After returning home and to our trusted mechanic, they fixed the issue and now our car runs like it did brand new. We did contact Midas corporate headquarters and told them about the issue. The district manager called us and did approve us getting back $500 of the $1,500 back that we spent. Our trusted mechanic in our city did all of the work for $700. They highly recommended that we contact Midas corporate to report the Midas in Longmont. There is no way that I would ever recommend this Midas, no matter what anyone says. read more

I called in and was quoted a price for a transmission drain and refill. When they performed the service, they let me know the price was misquoted and should have been about $100 more. But, they honored the price they quoted me over the phone. They got me in for same day service, and my car is running better than it has for months. read more

No other shop could figure it out and they all just wanted to start replacing random stuff until something worked. These guys found the problem and had my car back and fixed in two days. Extremely rude and unprofessional. The worst I've ever seen. Came in because my engine light kept turning on and off. First guy suggested I go get a code so I wouldn't have to pay Midas for diagnostics. I appreciated that, and returned 10 minutes later with said code. Different guy came out. He scoffed that a code did absolutely nothing for him, then shrugged when I said I had just been advised to get it, repeating that my picture of the OBD2 scanner doesn't tell him anything at all. He then remained completely silent, frowning, leaving me to do all the talking, and giving me nothing but contempt, sighs, and two-word answers. He sounded and looked very annoyed when I asked whether they could fit me in today, but finally agreed to set me up with an appointment two days later. There was no way I was going to let them touch my car with that sort of attitude, so I took it to a different shop. When I called Midas to cancel my appointment, the same guy just said, "All right", then immediately hung up while I was still speaking. Absolutely unbelievable. Bart was super great and helped me out after a disastrous visit to a dealership. They looked at my car (brake pads) after the dealership told me they were in "dire need of changing." Took it here for a second opinion and they told me I had 60% or so left and would be good for another 15-20k miles. I'm traveling from out of town and my battery died. My car has a unique battery configuration and size. As I drove up, a gentleman came to my window, and subsequently I explained this. Without looking, he assured me they were qualified and they would have the correct battery size. I gave him my keys, and the next thing I know, a guy is disassembling my engine in order to get to the battery. It did look strange how this guy (Bob) was removing the battery, which clearly looked like he had no idea. He was removing the windshield wipers to name just one of the things he was removing to get to the battery. The real issue was that he laid out a couple different batteries sizes and types next to my old battery. He was measuring the dimensions with a tape measure, and making the determination of its compatibility by whether or not it would fit in the compartment. I'm no mechanic, but it is clear to me that this is not how you do things. Lastly, I explained to the gentleman at the counter how uncomfortable I was, and to kindly put my original battery back. The mechanic was furious when being explained my request and instructed to the counter person to charge me for the labor regardless. Unbelievable. Here is the greatest part of the story: when I did finally get my vehicle back, the windshield wipers were on the front seat of the car, not on the windows where they belong. Guess what, the forecast today is rain. Bob walked over, still disgruntled and said to me "you shouldn't have a problem having the next guy put these on". Whoever owns this place needs to fire that guy immediately I have written very few Yelp reviews, but this one was a must. I would not go to this location for anything, and if you do, make sure your service representative is thorough and most definitely, do not let "Bob" touch your vehicle. Oh, and lastly, in all, I spent an entire hour there and only have this review to show for it. read more

My car died on me while driving and I towed it over here and they said the alternator had failed, car is driving great now and the battery lights are off now! This one-star review does not speak to the service I would have got, because I cancelled my appointment prior to leaving my car here. My rear brakes were squealing, so I brought my car in to this nearby Longmont Midas. The gentleman who greeted me at the counter was very friendly and had a nice sense of humor. After a brief inspection, I was provided a quote of $1,245. I was told I needed to install new front brake pads and rotors, new rear brakes pads and rotors, and needed the brake hydraulic system flushed. I then asked if this was the best price around, and all the proposed services were warranted, and I was told "yes." I don't know anything about cars, but since that was a lot of money, I wanted a second opinion. I went across the street to Brakes Plus, and after their inspection, was told that my front brake pads and rotors were just fine and didn't need to be replaced at all. Huh? Midas was going to do this unnecessary service and charge me $508.96 for it? Wow! I am so glad I got a second opinion, and would suggest everyone do the same. Not too ethical if you ask me, and would hope it's not a pattern. read more

I purchased lifetime shocks from here on my vehicle and went in last Friday 11/30 to have them evaluate the condition of them as one was obviously bad and the others were questionable. They told me they all needed replaced and it would be $20 labor for each one plus they also found I needed a new front CV axle for an additional $470 for this. Not knowing if I could trust this place I declined the CV axle work to have my own regular mechanic take a look at it later. Well today my mechanic told me they could not find any problems with what Midas claimed was bad with the front CV axle problem. Wow totally unbelievable to hear this news. It appeared because they were doing warranty free replacement work they tried to make up for it by adding work I did not need. Truly sad to see this type of dishonesty from a business. Management needs to rethink their business practices here in my opinion. read more

I have taken my Volvo there for a couple of oil changes because they offered a fair price. Then I had a right CV axel replaced and was told I needed back shocks. I like the technicians because they actually show you the part that needs repair, so I can wrap my head around what needs to be done. Bad back shocks are difficult to "see" but there was shock fluid leaking and I had had other issues that were related. So they gave me a quote. I took that with me and started to save my money. I checked other places closer to me, just to do due diligence. All were quite a bit higher. I called Ken Pratt Midas to book my appointment and at that time I asked them to reconfirm the price for both back shock/struts. They reconfirmed it after my, not once but twice, asking that this was going to be the price. I get there and AFTER the work is done, the price is almost double what they quoted!!!!! The front desk guy that quoted me wasn't there but he was called and he said that it was a mistake and the quote covered the cost of only one shock!!!! So they were just now realizing their mistake??? I call bullshit on that as they had plenty of time to look at my quote and when preparing for the job to see that the quote only had one shock included!!!! I was never called back to be told of the discrepancy. The other issue I have is that they overcharge for parts so that they can offer a "fair" hourly rate but make more money by gouging you on parts. They charged $150 for one coil and I have 5, so the job to change out the coils was over $800. And they seem like they are doing great by "throwing" in the 5 spark plugs for "free". This is an insult to my intelligence!!! But I was desperate at the time. And the coils was 3 weeks after the shocks and new tires I got from them. I called about when to rotate my tires and Patrick, the owner's son, answered and as always, he was patronizing and rude, under a supposedly polite talk. But he was just condescending and RUDE and I told him so, because I was so tired of his bad attitude. I will not take my Volvo back to them. They appear to be fair but take advantage of whoever they can, even though they do offer you some discounts (to help their conscience, maybe) - all the while more than making up for it but overcharging for parts. read more

Don't waste your money or time going to this place if you're looking for something more than a cheap oil change. I took my car in to get the alignment done and they gave it back to me in worse shape than when I took it in. When I took it back in and explained that my car was pulling worse than before, the guy at the front desk was nice about it but when he called me back he told me I was basically exaggerating how bad my car was pulling and explained that everything was fixed properly. I took my car somewhere else and the alignment was clearly off. The guys at the front desk know how to talk and will say what they need to to save face. read more

Three hours for an oil change and swap tires. Slow slow slow. They broke a tire sensor and instead of balancing the tires that they could they waited for the one tire sensor to show up before balancing the remainder. So I wait for one tire sensor to balance the others. SMH. Not to mention no AC in waiting room which made it worth the wait. Update 3hours later, sensor didn't work and Midas sent me to Discount Tire in Longmont. Midas installed wrong sensor and Discount Tire will get me taken care of tomorrow. 1.5 hour job wasted an 8 hour day for me with a lot of headache. 6 weeks after having my brakes repaired at this shop, the brake pads literally fell off of my car while my son was driving it. Thankfully no one was hurt and they did pay for the tow back to the shop and replaced the brakes and covered the cost of the repair. When I asked if they would pay for an independent inspection, they absolutely refused. I had it inspected anyway because i didn't trust them. It turns out that they didn't flush the air out of the hydraulic system and they didn't reconnect the sensors. They just zip-tied them to the bottom of the car. They used inferior brake pads and the sensor cannot be connected. I had to pay $250 more to have the repair repaired after they could have killed my kid. Don't go to this shop. read more

I usually give every business the benefit of the doubt three times before I move on to another. In the case of Longmont Midas, I gave them a dozen, because the service manager can talk a good story. Every repair job started with something small, leading to something major. Their advertised multi-point inspection never caught the split windshield wiper blade on my back window on each of my visits, but I never called them out on it. They never caught that my battery was not charging properly until it and the alternator quit and I had to get both replaced at a different garage far from home. It was only after talking to other mechanics and customers who were neighbors did I realize I had been ripped off for literally thousands of dollars on repairs and replacements I did not need. The last straw was after they kept my vehicle over a week and did not repair what I brought it in for (as well as paying several hundred dollars for the privilege) that I angrily gave up on Midas and their guarantees and promises, and went to a real garage (Hayes Automotive). If you don't have a lot if money, time or patience to waste, stay far away from Midas. read more

I went into Midas to get my brakes look at. The staff are very professional, friendly and honest. They were honest and said which brakes needed to be fixed. My ABS brakes were also out and they were upfront and said not to fix them. It isn't a necessity since they knew I was watching money. I have taken my car there for the last two years for oil changes and will continue to go there. I will not take my car anywhere else. I highly recommend Midas. I am a loyal customer. read more

ARNING, NEVER come to this place! I can not stress this enough, don't ever come to this Midas location. I came here last Wednesday for a routine oil change. The mechanic working on my car brought out my engine filter and cabin air filter and showed me they both were a little dirty and asked if I want either replaced. I decided to get the cabin done. They finish and I leave. For the next two days I drive my car like normal. I drive for Door dash for a living, so I drove about a total of 10 hours in those two days. I then notice my check engine light is on. So we pop the hood and find a vacuum hose is broken and completely disconnected. I hope that the vacuum hose is triggering the check engine signal. SO I go back to Midas and was expecting they would replace the vacuum hose they broke, but instead they just cut it shorter and put it back, (Not what I would have liked but fine). And here's where it gets much much worse. We have a reader at home so we do all our own research, and find the signals are related to the O2 sensors. Check engine light is still on after they "fix" the hose. So first thing I do is take it into a different mechanic to have the O2 sensors looked at. New mechanic says the O2 sensor is shot and to add insult to injury the cabin air filter they replaced was SHOVED into the car, mangled and broken because is was over an inch BIGGER then the actual air filter meant for my car. I call Midas incredibly upset, expecting a full apology, explanation and to be fully refunded for the "service" they provided me. They first guy I talked to was incredible rude and demanded I had to bring the car in for "proof" the second guy I talked to was condescending and rude as well and after arguing with me decided to refund me 20.00 (of which I spent 45) for the "unfortunate" broken air filter. He also said the only way the filter could have been put in wrong was because it was in the wrong box and that they're meant to be tight, that's why the mechanic CRAMMED it into my car unknowingly.. long story short after speaking with my mechanic I am 100% sure the O2 filter malfunctioned and broke from me driving ten hours with the vacuum hose disconnected from my engine. I had to have 600$ worth of repairs and labor all because the "mechanics" at Midas have no clue what they are doing. It is so disappointing. I have never seen a more negligent mechanic service and rude, condescending customer service in my life. I went in for an oil change, I left with a broken vacuum hose, a cabin air filter broken, mangled and shoved into my car, an O2 sensor shot, and 600$ worth of repairs. Please! Take this story to heart and never go to this mechanics shop! I am so sorry that I did. All to save a couple bucks on an oil change... learned my lesson I suppose. read more

I decided to take advantage of a free wheel rotation with an oil change. When I got home there was oil leaking out onto my garage. I returned and the manager remarked that I had a defective oil filter. In order to change the oil on a Totyota 4 runner you have to remove the skid plate unless you have very small hands. It is time consuming. Draw your own conclusions but I wouldn;t let them change the training wheel on my grandsons bike..... read more

I have only gone there for an oil change so far, but they were very knowledgeable and had good customer service. They might be a little on the higher end pricewise just from one quote I received but they seem reasonable to discuss if I find other lower quotes. The owner Patrick has a passion for cars which is a good sign in my book. They are not pushy at all. I would also recommend this as a good starting place for those unfamiliar with cars and wanting to get an honest opinion. I dropped in for an oil change, which they finished in 30 min inspection for ~$15 cheaper than nearby Grease Monkey and which included a free brake inspection. I heard the guy at the desk offer to drop off a customer's car nearby if his daughter couldn't get off of work in time to pick it up. I went in for an oil change here about 6 months ago and had great service. The person was very friendly and did NOT give me a list of dumb things they could fix for crazy prices. I hate that. I went back in again this week for an oil change and found out there are new owners. Received the same great service I had back a few months ago and felt well taken care of. I went in 30 minutes before closing and they were happy to change my oil. They noticed a small leak of coolant coming from my car (from some prior issues I was having), told me about it and filled up my car. I was there today, and I felt like they do not cover their warranties. I agree with Austin. I have had my car in their for the same problem several times. I bought a battery from them a couple of years ago, and was told by two other companies, that I needed a new battery. Since I had a 6 year warranty, I took it to Midas and they said it was marginal, but not bad enough for them to cover it. One month later I need jumped started . Great customer service. I requested an appt online. Got a callback almost immediately, and they were able to schedule me that day. Took my truck in-after ignoring the brake squeal far too long- and was told that I needed new brake pads, and rotors on the back. They explained that since they would have to get the part delivered, and to see if I was willing to wait. I said I was, and I'd come back at the agreed upon time. I showed up early, and they made me a fresh pot of coffee while I waited. As I sat, I noticed that the manager ( I can't remember his name, sorry) took the time to greet by name each person, and explain what was going on. They even had someone who was fluent in Spanish explain what was going on to another customer with limited English skills. When it was my turn to have my vehicle done, they reviewed my bill to double check I was not charged erroneously. It did take a couple minutes longer, but I was always kept informed of the status, and the repairs were done correctly. They took my vehicle for a test drive to ensure that it was safe. The employees were friendly, made good small talk, and really went above and beyond in making sure I was well cared for. The waiting room had enough seating, and there are a lot of places nearby to enjoy a beverage or some food while you wait for quality care of your vehicle. read more

I was so pleased with the help and service I brought lunch back for him... While i was paying he gave me an overall run down of the car inspection... He then told me my breaks needed to be replaced and that my rears were 20% I was livid, having just had these replaced 3 months ago!! So I immediately called the other place and made an appointment the next day to have them looked out to see what the heck! Well they personally showed them to me and you could clearly see these breaks were BRAND NEW!!
