They've resolved some major car issues for me so now I go here for everything. I once drove right off the highway into their lot with every engine light on, and my car was diagnosed, fixed, and ready to drive again very shortly after. They even supported me through getting reimbursement from a shop that had done poor work leading to this issue. I feel that the cost is reasonable compared to what I've paid other places, I am often pleasantly surprised with the total for services. Call ahead and they can often tell you when the best time to come in is for the quickest service!

I have Parkinson's and the van has been converted to accommodate a wheelchair and fitted w a ramp. I need it to stay independent. The reviews on Yelp were so positive I called and got an appointment. Allow me to say, you all were so right. This place knocked my socks off. John is so thoughtful and thorough, he doesn't make you feel like a loser if you need to have something explained, and he's a problem solver. McKenzie, the young woman working the counter, is similarly on the job, and is equally thoughtful. For example, seeing I use a wheelchair, they made it easier for me to access the office and in a way that was matter of fact and not condescending. When I needed to return the next day for an inspection sticker, McKenzie met me outside the office while still in the van, and did the back and forth on my behalf. It might seem minor but it's so nice to have someone see and act on the "little" things that make life easier to maneuver. Bottom line: Bayberry Automotive is now my go-to garage of choice. They were great w my car, and w me. They have my strong endorsement.

    I've been going to Matt's shop for many years. I believe I've taken my last 4 or 5 vehicles there…read more I felt he was upfront and honest, telling me if a problem needed immediate attention or if I could hold off on fixing the issue. I never felt like I was being taken advantage of. I recommended Hiram's to anyone who was looking for a new mechanic. Sadly, he has passed away, and the shop is now being run by family members. My 2016 Subaru Forester has some miles on it; but Matt took good care of it. Last December, under the new management, it had an oil leak. Among other things, it needed a valve cover gasket. With a very long list of parts and labor, the total bill was over $2,500 and they fixed the oil leak problem. Over a week ago, I had an appointment for an inspection, and the check engine light came on right before I even brought it in. I was hoping it was due to the extreme low temperatures we'd been having that week. They ran some tests and told me the results were that it would need 1) NAPA Eclin Mass Air Flow Sensor and 2) Bosch Oxygen Sensor. To replace both parts plus labor would be over $1,000 plus $200 for the tests. I paid $200 for the tests and left with my car. I took it to another mechanic that a family member highly recommended. They ran their tests to determine why the check engine light was on. They reset it, kept it overnight, drove around with it the next day, and the light did not come back on. They could find no problem with. The car passed inspection. Not to mention, their tests were under $100. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to Hiram's and will not recommend them to anyone ever again.

    I dropped my car off on Saturday before I went to work. The person behind the desk told me that I…read morecould pick my car up on Sunday morning when they opened at 9am. Sounded great to me! So Sunday morning rolled around and I got a ride to Mavis and arrived there at 8:59, and one other person was there waiting. So I wait as well. Then it's 9:10, then 9:20, then 9:30. I called their customer service line and the person there tried to reach the manager and then the so-called, "Regional Manager." and they said they can't reach anyone. Well I can't go anywhere because my car is locked up inside and I can't leave. So I had no other choice but to keep waiting, 9:40, 9:50, still no one arrived. I called back again, and they STILL can't reach anyone to get someone here to open the door so I can pay and get my car. The clock strikes 10am and still no one from Mavis is there! I've waited outside for a literal hour! Then at 10:10am, FINALLY someone pulls in wearing a Mavis dress shirt and runs to open the door. I ask him what the hell is going on and he's even more confused than I am! He was an employee from another store that was called in on his day off and asked to come open the store. He cashes me out and gives me my car and I ask him to be compensated for the hour of my time that I spent just waiting outside and he says I will have to call the actual manager, Nate, on Monday as he doesn't have the authority to do that. Fair enough. How was the work on my car? Great! Couldn't be better! My new brakes work perfectly and I can't complain one bit about the work they did. My customer service experience? AWFUL!!! I will NEVER go to a Mavis store ever again. Avoid at all costs.
