I don't write negative reviews lightly, but this experience at this Midas location was unacceptable. My partner purchased a Groupon for a synthetic oil change and was given a specific appointment time. She arrived on time, only to be told that they would not perform the service due to an upcoming snowstorm. What made this especially frustrating is that the staff openly admitted they were continuing to service other customers while refusing to honor her appointment. No alternative appointment was offered, no estimate of when to return, and no effort was made to accommodate a customer who had done everything correctly. When she attempted to obtain a refund, she was only issued Groupon credit -- despite the fact that the service was denied due to the shop's decision, not hers. Paying for a service that is then refused, with only store credit offered, represents very poor value for the customer. Appointments should mean something. If a business chooses to prioritize walk-ins or selectively cancel scheduled customers, that needs to be stated clearly in advance. Based on this experience, I can't recommend this location. read more

Bad people running a bad business This is my second experience with this location. I wanted to give them a second chance but I regret it. The first time I came, I was upsold something I was told would take another 5 minutes. They did not even have the part at the location, the employee who assured me it would be 5 minutes left the location, and they refused to give me a refund when I told them I had to leave right then because a pregnant woman and senior citizen would be waiting in the 90 degree heat if I did not pick them up on time. I was forced to leave to make the pickup and come back after because they lied to my face. I gave them another chance. I made an appointment, which they confirmed for first thing in the morning (8am, when they open). I arrived and was told they would not look at the car until after 10am. I explained that I had an appointment and was told it didn't matter because they were prioritizing other vehicles. I asked why they would confirm my appointment (the exact time they chose; I was only able to ask for a window) if they were not available. They guy unapologetically said "I don't know" and acted as if I was an inconvenience to him. Go here if you want to be lied to and treated like crap read more

My car with 153k miles was vibrating. They said my differential was bad. Another shop agreed. I had it replaced there for $1200. Fine. I bring it back in 3 months as suggested for a follow up. Car is ok (we agreed the car would need a $1500 transmission) - but they proceed to do a transmission service without asking me. $300. After that, the car was ruined. Scary to drive. It would not go more than 50mph and shook bad. They charge me $300, damage my car to the point it is dangerous to drive and remind me I need the transmission replaced. After that, I did not want them working on my car. Don't go there. read more

I went in and asked for a quote for an oil change. The manager on duty today started off by saying that I should not talk to his employee and that he gives the employees orders. I only told the employee that I need an oil change. The manager then proceeded to raise his voice and tell me to wait while he figured out the price for an oil change. He then goes, takes my vin number and comes back and tells me he can't give me an accurate price as his system was down, and he could only tell the price after they drain the oil to find out how many quarts I needed. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee, it shouldn't be that hard. He was playing games with the pricing after he told me standard pricing and that only included 5 quarts and said if there were more then I'd have to pay more. I didn't trust him so I left, especially after he yelled at me. Amazing they get any business. Went down the road to AAMCO less than a mile and they told me exact price, were very professional and $10 cheaper than Midas. To boot, I left a google review (it was on the register at the store to review that location) and he went in and left a disparaging response on my review. This si the second time my mother has been to this location and as an 80 year old woman, they were kind, responsive and honst about what she needed. They also did a once over to make certain the car was fine to drive. They were courteous to every person in the place, even one who was yelling at them. read more

We have a video camera that they scraped our bumper!! My husband has been trying to get their insurance information and we've been told they'll give us a call. I called them and I told the guy who works there and he told me it would have to be with the owner and that the owner comes in as he pleases so whenever the message gets to the owner because they don't know when he comes in and they don't have his schedule. He also said he'll forward my contact to the manager and IF the manager wants to give me a call, he'll call us. Excuse me, but we have a video camera proof from our dash cam showing you guys scraped and damaged our bumped. He kept saying "if the manager wants to give you a call, he will call." How is that acceptable???! And when I mentioned the dash cam recording, the guy said I don't know how that's possible. It is called a video recording proof so how are you going to question what we can visibly see on camera?! The audacity to even said "if he wants to give you a call" is absurd to me. **Please read this and other reviews** I had over $4.5k of repair done here 4k of that was my very first visit. I purchased their life time breaks deal and their pre-purchase 3 oil change deals as well. The break are consistently noisy, I brought my car in the first time and I was charge to inspect THEIR breaks. They said something was loose... I was charged to correct something they left loose. The breaks continued to squeak even after. During the most recent oil change the mechanic damage my oil housing spring and loosened the metal cylinder inside the housing which cause a slow oil drip. I didn't release till I was driving back from 75 miles from my home. I had to do an emergency oil change and filter replacement at Mavis, thankfully they were open on Sunday. i attempted to contact midas through various sources to be refunded. They offer to only refund the emergency service I had done at Mavis... when it came time to refund I was only given half of what the Mavis service cost and that was from the regional sales manager and not the midas location. The midas of huntington manager was defense and refused to take accountability. However the regional sales manager was professional and patient even when I wasn't. Overall do not use this midas. DO NOT GO HERE! CROOKS! I went in with my car engine light on, They told me they spent an hour diagnosing the noise I complained was coming from my tail pipe. They charged me to fix it, and charged more to fix other problems they found. I paid over $1,500. As I turned on my car to drive away, the engine light was still on! The guy fed me a word salad. I don't know what everyone's problem is that works here but everyone has such an attitude. Today was my last try with them. Their listed hours say they open at 8 but when I showed up at 8:05 the door was still locked. When the guy came to unlock it he seemed annoyed and didn't even acknowledge me. So I ask to make an appointment for service and he tells me it's first come first serve. Okay, whatever I guess. So I'll be back tomorrow at 8am when they open but he insists to come at 8:30. Dude, if it's first come first serve, why are you telling me when to come? I tell him the sign says they open at 8, he tells me "it's my shop don't you think I know what my sign says?" Alright guys out there's plenty of places in town to get an oil change and most of them don't treat customers like crap. read more

Beware! I booked a noon appointment for today. When I came inside, I showed the man at the register who says he's the owner the appointment. He couldn't find it but then eventually did. I showed him a coupon and said the last time I came, they told me don't use Groupon just show the coupon and They will match the price. he kept insisting the price for synthetic was the price for synthetic blend even though it was clearly marked right in front of us he finally agreed and then said OK. It's a two hour wait. I asked what the purpose of the appointment was and he said they take walk-ins. For example, the person whose car was in front of me didn't make an appointment and came in that morning for other work therefore, I am pushed back two hours. The owner started to confront me And was totally non-accommodating ,add to that the reviews this place is getting and I would not waste your time I ended up leaving and walking out and he couldn't care less. read more

Went online on Wed. the 25th and made an appointment for 10 am on Saturday the 28th. Got there several minutes early, manager said that all the bays were filled because of walk in traffic. Explained that I had booked a specific time online to avoid having to wait. He repeated that he had to take the walk ins. Asked why have people make an appointment if they arrive on time only to be told they had to wait anyway. He said again that I could wait but the walk ins had filled up all the bays. So impressed! Professional and friendly. Came in for exhaust repair. Atif was so kind and easy to deal with. Quoted me a price for the exhaust before the work and let me decide. Also quoted me for front and rear breaks and I opted to have them do them. Drive me home and offered to pick me up. Went in for an overpriced oil change & inspection- I was pre-warned that problems with the inspection might come up before even looking @ the '19 blazer w 40k miles that I've owned a year without issue. they failed my inspection and quoted me $3100 worth of work... took my car to my regular mechanic who reassessed necessary repairs and completed the job for $1000... Great service-was supposed to go out of town but realized on a saturday morning there was loud noise when i started my chevy.I went straight to this newly renovated Midas auto repair shop in Huntington.when i told them i had travel pans they took me in right away and found a hole in the exaust system because of rust.There mechanic was able to weld that piece in 35 minutes for a very reasonable price. i highly recommend this repair shop. read more

When looking at the receipt I noticed that most of the charges ran were for labor ... meanwhile, having the same car trouble the next week seems like nothing was ever actually done to my car. I stumbled upon this Midas when my significant other needed new brakes and inspection on her work vehicle. They were benevolent in driving her back home to avoid an Uber while they did the repairs and worked with her vehicle repair company covering repairs. I drove her back to get her car and was greeted by two friendly faces one in Nasir Khan. I mentioned my own vehicle needing a synthetic oil change soon and its cost , and where I have been. Nasir informed me of their special (70$ for the same oil change that many charge 100$), and also told me they had a special of $150 for 3 synthetic oil changes paid upfront; allows a savings of 70$ plus to the customer over one to two years. He even gave me a Midas stainless steel cup to remember them. Placing customers first, along with knowledgeable service repairs, friendly faces, and competitive pricing, this Midas is persuasive enough to try them out. read more

I bought an oil change off of groupon, the hours that I selected were from 4-6, I called Midas to ask to make the appointment for after 5 due to my work schedule. The employee stated that I will not be able to do that and I need to be there the next morning at 8AM. They told me they did not have any apts after 5 for 2 weeks when I asked, after going back and forth they finally gave me an apt for the next day at 5 but "Do not be a minute late or we are canceling". I arrived at 4:40 and when I got there I told the same man I spoke with on the phone that I arrived early because of what he told me over the phone, the response I got was " Good for you, go have a seat." Once my car was in the garage being worked on, the employee wanted me to take a look with him at my car. The mechanic and the salesman (rude employee from before) stated I had a list of issues with my car. The two less expensive things were: a hole in my tire and my cabin filter were bad, so I agreed to patching the tire and changing the filters. He then went on to tell me that I work in the medical field that I shouldn't want to be breathing those horrible fumes in and that I should know better given my outfit I was wearing, which were scrubs. He than went on to tell me that my tie rod on my front passenger side was "the worst he has ever seen before" and also that my radiator was leaking coolant. I explained to him that I would need to speak with my dad before making these financial decisions, I am a 22 year old female. He was telling me that I don't take care of my car and that I should be scared that I let my car get this bad. Once I said something about my financial standpoint he tried to explain that he can put me on a payment plan, after shutting that down, he kept going. After my car was looked at, he brought me back inside to ring me up for the tire patch, and cabin vent. It went from a 50 dollar oil change to a 150 dollar fix. I asked him to break down the cost of the tire rod and radiator issues and he said he didn't feel comfortable giving me one since he couldn't be sure. I asked him again to give me a ballpark, he stated around $950 for everything. Being freaked out, I wanted to get another opinion given my experience at midas. I brought it to a mechanic that was trusted by my family and after looking at my entire underneath of my car, he stated that there was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR. so thank you midas for almost scamming me of $950 to fix nothing. read more
