I came in to Midas for an oil change. I was told 10 -15 minutes to get my car in, 10-15 minutes for the oil change to take place. It took over an hour. But that is not even the problem. After the oil change, I drove my car back to my place of work, about 5 minutes away. When I went to get into my car after work, the skid plate was hanging and oil was leaking. I took it to another place to check out. They said the skid plate was missing over 8 screws and they were surprised it was even hanging on. On top of that, the backlogs were ripped out so even with screws it couldn't be put back in properly. They then had to remove the skid plate because if it got caught on anything while driving it could cause serious damage to my vehicle and injuries to myself. Midas not securing my skid plate endangered my life. Then, they found the drain plug was stripped. My car is now leaking oil no matter if the engine is on or off. I took it back to Midas for them to observe the damage. I did not want them to work on my car, only observe what they caused before I took it to the dealership to get new parts and fixed properly. When I arrived they said that my car already had previous skid plate damage before they worked on it. I was never notified of that, and never received documentation that this was the case. If this were true, why wouldn't I have experienced my skid plate hanging before? Also, I called other Midas locations around the Houston area to get a greater knowledge of their policies. Multiple employees of Midas said that a visible inspection is done before and that if any part they will have to work on is damaged they would let me know and document it so they are not liable. This did not happen. I now they have made up documentation of this. Pull the cameras I was never told. Lastly, when looking to observe the additional damages they said that it was not my drain plug but my gasket that was damaged and that it was damaged before I got my oil changed done there. Again, I was not notified of this. They offered to fix this for free, but because of the current situation I do not want them working on my car anymore. I have taken my car to the dealership to asses and fix the damage. I have also spoke with both the General Manager of the store, and the Regional Manager, and they have refused to cover the cost of the repairs stating that I was notified of these damages, which I was not, and because I was in a rush demanding my car. I was not demanding my car, why would I ask for my car when the service wasn't completed? Furthermore, the dealership did confirm what the other location found which is that the drain plug was stripped, further proving the incompetence at this Midas location as they said the drain plug was not stripped, and it was the gasket. The dealership also found that an incorrect washer was installed on the drain plug. The lower belly plate also had to be replaced, and because the drain plug had to be replaced, another oil change had to be done. DON'T EVER GO HERE. They are also in charge of the Westheimer location and W. Davis location in Conroe, TX that I know of. AVOID THOSE LOCATIONS TOO! read more

Went here for my smog check! Was told 20 minutes when I walked in! The guy took my keys and went for a smoke break. When they did finally hook up my car, they said the machine couldn't read my cars system! Was not feeling good and now I really questioned the honesty of the two guys there! They said I probably have electrical issues but needed to run a $110 diagnostic test for them to know what the problem was! I decided to leave and go to a highly rated smog place on Yelp! So glad I did!!! When I got to the highly rated place, the person told me that someone had blocked my system...most likely Midas! He had my system flushed and smog certificate in hand in 20 min! Please beware of this type of scam during smog checks! read more

First of all this place goes through management like crazy and they all have different ways of running this location. I really feel as if one manager lies to women. He told me that I needed a part replaced on my AC that wasn't even having issues and quoted me like $500 for that, the guy in front of me he told the same exact thing not realizing that I was listening. We were both there for simple maintenance needs. He didn't realize that my AC was brand new from the dealership and I was just there to save money on brakes and an oil change. He was clearly lying to me knowing Houstonians dread a vehicle without a running A/C. Then he tells me that I need a tuneup, the dealership which is huge on getting people's money did not say that I needed a tuneup. I'm like "dude, just fix my brakes and change the oil and that's all I want". He later gives me his business card and shows me how much the manager before him made and how much he's pulling into the location--UNBELIEVABLE! I go back to get my car and the dude is standing there talking with a pretty woman and he had removed his wedding band!!! Go elsewhere! read more

I asked to change engine oil, and I asked a good one. I paid 60 dollars. But two days later, I checked the ruler. The oil was only on the just bottom. Not even to the lower scale. That means they are too mean to add engine oil even you pay a lot. read more

Really good service. They were really friendly and it took no more than 30 minutes for me to get in and out for an oil change on a Saturday. This was my first time here and I definitely plan on coming back next time I need service for my car. read more

Extremely bad service! I was charged for the balance after new tire installation. While I was driving over 70 mph, I felt my steering wheel vibrating very seriously. It wasn't like that before the damn balance. I took my car to Midas, but they just told me that they already did their best and refused to fix it. I won't go to any Midas again. read more

What a great Midas location! I went in for an oil change because my Toyota 4runner has been leaking oil bad. They were able to find the cause and it was pricey but the man was honest about what it needed, the labor time and price. He even showed me the quote directly from the Midas pricing system. He even threw in a discount he knew et were offering for repairs over a certain price range. He didn't pressure me into get any additional work done but timed out what things MAY need to be done in the future and just be cautious. They did a great job on my oil change, tire rotation, topping hiss, etc for only $20. I have never changed my air filters and they were disgusting so of course I paid additional to change those out for only $20 each. Moral of the story, they were incredibly nice and honest people. I will DEFINITELY come here again!!! read more

I took my car in for an oil change and an alignment yesterday. I was informed that my vehicle was due for the 100,000 mile factory servicing so I went ahead and agreed to let them take care of it. After waiting for over six hours and paying over $1,000 I finally got my car back. When I walked out to it I saw a little bit of smoke rising from it, but was informed that was to be expected and that it should go away in a few minutes. Still skeptical I drove off, I was planning on leaving for Louisiana this morning and was in a rush to get everything in order. I drove maybe thirty minutes before I noticed my gears were slipping and my car would not shift past third maybe second gear. Luckily I was near a mechanics house who happened to be a friend so I stopped by to ask him to take a look at my car. Apparently when they did a transmission fluid flush on my car they failed to replace any of the transmission fluid and the smoke that was coming from my car was most likely the transmission being burnt. Now I am facing an extremely expensive repair and most likely a law suit for negligence and damage to my personal property. In short I took my perfectly functioning car in for routine maintenance and ended up with a ruined transmission and most likely a law suit on my hands. This is the last place I would ever recommend taking your' vehicle. Trust the midas touch? I think not. read more

I brought my car for a brake job and they not only fixed my brake but also found a issue with my radiator, that would have cost me an arm and a leg at the dealership, cost nearly nothing!!!!! The manager was extremely kind and informative. The technician was also kind and gave me a lesson on car maintenance!!!! Thank you guys!!!! read more

Worst experience with this store. I requested to change the headlight of my car and they charged me $126 for 1 headlight that costs in Oriley or Napa between $60-70 (after checking the catalogue # of the bulb) The new management looks terrible. read more

These motherf**er almost blew off my new toyota camry for no reason, Actually went, there to do a regular oil change using an online coupon for $19.99. They Intentionally, left the air filter box open, I tried to press an acclerator funny noise was coming out from engine or exhaust pipe, I was loosing power, how could that be possible, It's a new car with only 30k mileage on it, never had any problem before, as I always do the regular maintenance with the toyota dealer which comes under the warranty. I wish, i could send an email to midas main office or Better Business Bureau, Any suggestion from ppl will be helpful. I really like to nail these bastard. NEVER GO TO THIS STORE! THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER! My first time there was in the spring for an oil change and alignment. When I came back to pick up my car, I discovered Whataburger napkins and straw in my car. I immediately called the manager and he was very nice and offered me a free oil change, along with promising me the tech would be disciplined. I went back for the oil change (and wasn't going to go back due to my 1st experience). I recently went for an oil change at a different location and they found some damage that had been done to my oil pan (and immediately told me as soon as they figured it out). They suggested I go confront the manage at Midas (my last oil change) b/c I would now need my oil pan replaced b/c they screwed up a part (around $500 expense!). I went to Midas and explained to the (new) manager what they told me....he was rude the whole time, interrupting me and completely denying anything and wouldn't call and speak to the other place. We went and got a written report and the tech called and told the manager what happened (clearly it was Midas fault) and the manager was rude again. I took the report and my car back to Midas to see if they would give me a deal on the replacement since it was their fault. Again the manager was extremely rude said he would not take responsibility and that his boss agreed with him but would not give me anyone's number to call. So now I am stuck paying for a new oil pan b/c they do such LOUSY work! read more

Went in for a simple oil change and tire rotation. They came back and told me I needed all my fluids flushed at $400, needed new belts and that my car could over heat at any time and the belt could snap and I could be stranded. They said the work that needed to be done on my car was totaling over $700. Took the car to the dealership today and they checked everything and said my car was good for at least another 10,000 miles. Midas also told me they couldn't rotate my tires because my alignment was off, which was another fee to fix. Dealership told me the alignment was just fine. Called to talk to them about the issue and told them I took my car to a family friend who is the head of service at this dealership and all he kept saying is that the head of service never looks at the cars and just went to school to learn about it, this is not the case for the dealership I went to today. Would not suggest going here, they seemed like they were just trying to get as much money as they could out of me. Always get a second opinion or go to a place you trust, this guy just made it seem like he was giving me a good deal my giving me $20 off here and $30 off there, but all in all I didn't even need the work to be done. read more
