*Happened over a year ago. Hate to leave a bad review but they changed my oil and didn't replace the oil plug. Of course it was right before I took it to Carmax for an estimate and there's this huge oil spot under he truck where I parked it. Had to drive it back to the shop without oil (horrible but only a couple miles away). No apology no explanation. I was really surprised by all this. Mistakes happen but how you handle them says everything. I go to LMC on Aldine Westfield now which is less busy and much nicer, actually cheaper, and professional. read more

Went to get my 06 GMC Sierra catalytic converters replaced and Scott "the manager" said I needed 4 new O2 sensors because the old ones would be rusted in place. I had replaced them 2 days ago and he said in his experience they must be replaced because they will be destroyed coming out. He refused to even try to remove them. Very arrogant guy. They took my truck down and I told the mechanic it was stupid not to try- the Scott yelled "Oh, now I'm stupid!" He continues to at me from the parking lot as I left. Let Midas know what happened. I read other reviews on here with similar complaints but thought it couldn't be that bad. It was worse. Sad Midas- already called Midas and gave them details about the experience. Ref #4178865. By the way, took it to another shop down the road- they installed the new converters and the old sensors without issue for $150. These guys were kind and helpful. Shared my experience with them AFTER they did the work and the manager said charging $450 to do that job was way overpriced. read more

My car was taken in for service. They gave me a list of all the repairs needed. I approved and paid for their service. Upon picking up my vehicle, the problem was not fixed. They kept it for further diagnostics and now the vehicle won't start. The owner called me demanding I remove my vehicle from his shop and refused to accept responsibility for it not running. He seems to think it's acceptable to take my money and give me a car in a worse condition than when it was brought to him. He was rude, condescending, unapologetic, dismissive, and attempted to intimidate me. I don't know if he's just generally disrespectfully and lacks customer service skills, or if my gender and ethnicity made him feel it's okay to treat me this way. read more

I'm not your average auto repair customer. I used this place because I don't have time to make my own repairs. I was charged 3 labor hours for a half hour job. $211 for a fuel filter replacement on a F-250 SD. I questioned it before the work was started. And when the work was complete I asked the time it had taken for the repair. I was told it only took half an hour but since I signed for a 1.5 hour repair time I payed the $211. This was good to know because me and the electrical contracting company I own will not be servicing our vehicles here. Keep the change ya filthy animal. read more

Midas has got to be the worst place I've ever been. I bought new tires and had them replaced here. When they put the new tires on, they forgot to tighten the lugnuts on at least two of the wheels. I was called a liar twice, and told al they can do is apologize. Nevermind the broken hub cap now. This is why people have trust issues. Al they cared about was making money. read more

He told me I had to replaced my tie rods in my truck to get a good alignment. So I agreed to them doing the job. 1,200$ was the cost because they had to replace my tie rods, he assured me my alignment was fixed. I paid and drove off with my truck to find out that it's still not aligned!! And then to make the situation worse I was overcharged by 1000$. On the paper it says only the Inner tie rods had been changed. If that's the case then it should've been way less. 2 parts that cost 49.99 each at the most expensive rate from the AC Delco Website and a Job that takes no less than 30 minutes with the proper equipment time. I got that info by calling the GMC dealership and asking them how long it'll take to do the job. Parts and price matched from website and labor charge was 200$ this is insane. The corporate need to do something about this because it is not right. At this rate I'm not asking for compensation. But I am asking how can a profesional well known mechanic shop be more expensive than an actual dealership and be so unprofessional that they have 2 stars on Yelp and google and have not gotten better in all the years Scott's been working here. Sad part is his brother that works in the front told me he was getting a shop too. I hope that's not true because then both of them would be bringing the Midas name down and running it to shame here in Houston. Told all my guys at work to stay out and they will. My 83 year old grandmother went there to get an estimate for a tune up ONLY!! They talked her into getting a diagnostic done at $100.00 and then wanted to charge $500.00 for a tune up for a Chevrolet Impala - REALLY. When I called to let them know what they did was wrong, the manager did not want to give me his last name, he said take it up with the corporate office and I quote "she is a grown woman". I am a small business owner and have been using Midas for my fleet needs. I have always believed that you get what you pay for. I have used many mechanics and Jacob and his guys are great. The prices are a touch high, but in the overall scheme of things, the important thing is that I know once I get a repair done, that will be the end of the issue. As a contractor myself, its frustrating when you tell someone that something needs repaired and they want to question your expertise. If you were a mechanic, you would not be at Midas. The great thing about living in the USA, you can charge what you want as a business, and as the consumer, you can say no if you think it is too high. Always remember, YOU GET WHAT YPOU PAY FOR. This is the only fair rating I could give this place. They treat me like family here, that annoying little sister they want to lock in a trunk... They offer amazing service and excellent advice. I trust in their opinion here. Especially the mechanic Ben, I hate to admit it but he knows his stuff! I thought my car was Junk and he brought it back to life for me with minimal effort! The wait is a bit long if you don't have an appointment but that's because they are Great at what they do, you have to expect a long line. Jacob is Awesome! I'm not sure if it's offered to every customer, but I received curbside service. I received a ride to work and they dropped off my car to me at my job. Services are always given with a smile. The Price is a bit steep, but I rather pay once and have it done right. The last mechanic I went to charged me $400 dollars to fix the same problem... and here I am again less than 2 months later getting it fixed Right at Midas. They Guarantee their service here! If I could leave no stars I would. After getting off work, I stopped to get some air only to get told I could not get any air. As I arrived I stopped the vehicle in front of the bay awaiting someone to greet me, mind you I'm watching all three of the employees just sit there and casually keep talking to one another. One by the name of Austin finally looks over and keeps talking, but you can tell he says something about my vehicle being where it was because the others looked my way and neither came out to assist me. So I drive up a little more looking to see if someone would come out to assist me, only for Austin to come at me with rage saying something as he's walking to the door. Austin threw his hands in the air like what do you want. I said I just needed some air. Austin then stated if you want some assistance you need to come inside and they don't give out air. I was told, "I couldn't get any air" now what shop do you know not to give people air? That was interesting! So I move the car and get out of the vehicle to say hello and ask for his name as well as the address. Then once I asked for his name I get a smart remark stating I hope you leave me a good review lol. Yeah right! Like I said before if I could leave no stars I would. The service sucks here, I DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL! Most times the workers tell you to pull in front of the bay until they tell you to pull into it and someone comes out to assist you. Scott just came out of the back while I was talking to the guy at the counter and told me he doesn't care how many times I've been here or how much I paid previously, we don't have any discounts for me, and you're not getting away with paying the same price you did 4 months ago. The guy behind the counter just looked in completely embarrassed by the way Scott was talking at me. I sure hope he wasn't in training. After Scott basically told me to leave and never come back at doing nothing at all to provoke this type of treatment, and buy now another potential victim to Scott walked in so I just kindly came back to my truck and posted this comment. I went into this location in reference to a popping noise on the right front end. Manager, Robert advised I needed struts and motor mounts. I told Robert D. That I just replaced the struts about three months ago at Firestone and he said he repair a lot of their mistakes. Robert advised since the motor mounts were bad it ruin the new struts. $1398 later I picked up my vehicle and it was still popping on the right front end and doing the same thing it did when I brought it. Manager, Robert D. Advised he was not in the business of chasing noises and refused to correct the issue at hand when I first brought my vehicle in. I asked Manager, Robert for the owner's name and phone number. Robert advised that he was the owner. I asked for a corporate phone number who advised he is a franchise owner. "Please" don't get your vehicle repaired at this location they are only guesting and making recommendations. Take your vehicle to the dealership were they know their products and backs their work. There were a few unhappy customers sitting in the waiting area, that should have been my first sign to leave. I will later contact Texas Licensing and complaints and the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint. I will also attempt to contact main office for Midas to report this incident. Midas on FM 1960/45 encounter staff member - Scott, my first time visiting this location , he was very friendly and knowledgeable , service was promptly , he also explained details of the service , quoted prices of oil change for speciality vehicle , offer an $10 OFF discount coupon , also he did advise me of a general vehicle mantaince check that will be conducted. Additional purchase windwiper blades, no labor fee special. Everyone seemed very nice at first, they got my car right in to look it over. Then dropped a bomb on me telling me that I needed almost 3k dollars worth of work done to even make it home. I expected to be taken advantage of a little, since I was stranded there with my kids, but this was ridiculous. I felt super uneasy being there, and I grew up in a shop and I'm not stupid. I had it towed to another shop and thank god I did because all I needed was a fill up on break fluid. Take your business to Service First on louetta road if you want to be treated fairly. I wish there was a 0 star option! I recently purchased a Living Social voucher that I gifted to my husband for another automotive center 3-oil change package (Louetta Automotive) and he had a great experience. All he had to do was produce the paper voucher or show the digital voucher on his iphone or android and the service was great. So I jumped on the recent deal for 3 oil changes at this Midas on 1960 East a few miles from 45. I mentioned to the man who scheduled my appointment that I would be redeeming my first Living Social voucher, and he said, No problem, I've got you down. Jacob, the owner, supposedly, checked me in today at noon, as I had already made an appointment last week for an oil change prior to our family vacation this Friday. When I produced the living social voucher, Jacob, the alleged owner (I can't believe that an owner or manager would give such HORRIBLE customer service), said that I need to produce a laminated voucher that is supposed to be mailed to me upon visiting some auto saver website and that they would not accept the Living Social voucher. Despite the fact that I purchased said deal via Living Social. I'm a business owner, and I've been a deal-site vendor, and this is a total crock of crap. He said that he has "no possible way of keeping track of said services"... yet somehow Starbucks, small yogurt shops, Jamba Juice, Louetta Automotive, hair salons, nail salons, etc, can managed to track said services. I said, you might try using that computer that you have there with all of your client information and records??? Just a thought. I made the valid argument that they should mention this pertinent information to their clients who mention (as I did clearly) that they are first time redeemers of a Living Social Deal. I took the day off of work, literally wasting my entire day, and his response is that it isn't his problem. I would HIGHLY recommend NOT visiting this business. If they care that little about customer service, I would gladly recommend driving ANYWHERE else, even out of the way. Houston is a huge city and there is plenty of competition. I have a super saver card from the Internet an these fools told me its not good for 2013. No where on the card does it say that it expires. They told me to take it up with the website. The real dumb thing is that I redeemed one of my vouchers in 2013! Dumb as hell Midas and horrible customer service! The voucher that I could redeem was no walk in the park, I was there for two hours for a simple oil change. I took my car here because the brakes I purchased from another Midas location were starting to squeal. They supposedly inspected my brakes and found a leak in my master cylinder, then told me I needed to have my rotors, brake pads and brake shoes done. The manager said an elderly lady in the customer service area was having the exact same job being done on her car. While waiting in the room for more repairs for them to find, I overheard them charge the elderly lady over $700! WTF! I took my car to my mechanic, who found no leaks in my master cylinder, and who said I didn't even need new brake shoes. This Midas would literally ROB the elderly! I hope to find a Midas I can trust... I just know this is NOT the one. read more

One star is the lowest review possible but Scott manager and owner of Midas at 2509 FM 1960 rd Houston, Tx does not deserve that. He does not stand behind his work even though the work is under warranty. He repaired and installed my Catalytic Converter, Turbo Charger, and Spark Plugs on June 6, 2020 per Midas' diagnostic testing which was $100. After parts and labor 1,359.06 was spent on my car, for the diagnostics to remain the same. Check engine is still on and diagnostic is showing the same error codes. On June 13, 2020 an attempt was made to discuss the error with Scott who was rude, unprofessional, and displayed aggressive behavior. Scott refused to discuss it, folded his arms, turned his back and stated "if your going ask questions leave the store" ceasing all conversation and contact. I am filing a small claims lawsuit against Scott and Midas, per these reviews I feel Scott and Midas have a history of poor performance and being aggressive ie unprofessional towards their customers. I WILL NEVER USE MIDAS AGAIN! read more

Bad experience! I took my vehicle to this Midas to have my back brakes checked, as they were squeaking. Scott, who to my amazement is the manager, listened to my problem and said give him a few minutes and he would have it checked and give me an estimate. The estimate was $445. I left my vehicle to have the brakes fixed and later got a call from Scott saying that my cost was now going to be $1062.78! I told him to go ahead with it. I picked up my car and paid by credit card, which Scott failed to tell me there would be a $30.95 credit card fee!! I drove my car home and it sat for the next two days until I took my friend to an appointment. On the way home, when I reached a speed above 40 mph my car started shaking. I pulled into the closest tire place and had them check my tires. They checked out fine, but the mechanic asked me if I had had any brake work done, because he could smell them burning. I immediately drove, 35 mph back to Midas. Scott approached me and I told him my problem and that I had my tires checked before I came back to him. Before having anyone check my brakes, he defensively told me that it COULDN'T be the brakes it HAD to be my tires!! That made no sense. If it had been tires, it would have happened before I got brakes done and the guy at the tire placed checked all of my tires. All Scott wanted to do was argue and deny it could be something that they did or did not do. Finally, he got one of his mechanics to take off the tires and check my brakes. Then it was taken on a test run. When the gentleman came back and handed me my keys, I asked him what had been wrong. He said that one of the bolts, screws, whatever had been tightened too much and they were not all tightened or calibrated to the same extent BINGO!! My car drove fine on the way home. Scott never came back to me, never apologized. $1,000 seems to be his magic number, as my friend went there to have her AC checked and Scott told her she needed a new compressor and it would be over $1,000. She took her car to another place and they ran it through diagnostics and told her that her compressor is not bad! I don't know if Scott also owns this store, but I plan on going to the top and express my concerns. If he is a franchise owner, that is a real pity and not what Midas would want representing them. read more

We took our truck in and brought all the parts. We were charged $250 in labor for NOTHING! They didn't grease the brakes or put the cotter pin back in. Our tire could have come off going down the road! Very rude serviceman as well. I will never go back. Please avoid this location. If it was possible to give a zero rating, I would. I paid Jacob and his staff to press out a wheel bearing and press in a new one. Simple enough task or so I thought. I ended up returning 3 times because of shoddy workmanship and improper bearing installation. I emailed Jacob in an attempt to come to a resolution and set up a meeting with him at his shop. He confirmed our meeting. Well, I left work early to make our appointment and he is nowhere to be seen. His assistant manager Chris, attempts to convince me that the defective seal on the bearing is still perfectly fine.....guys, I'm a lot of things, stupid is not one of them. Please avoid this location. I ended up out $150 and still have to fix their mistakes. I would be great full for a refund be they have made it obvious that's not going to happen.
