I called and made an appt to have my oil changed and tires rotated and balanced. I dropped my car off at 9:30 AM for a 10AM appt. The car was finished at 2PM. They only did the oil. It's a car with 95k miles that is 6 yrs old. It has the original brakes, original battery and the spark plugs have not been changed yet. They did not do the tires because it was not on the order and their machine is broke. I did not get my inspection sheet so I could see what upcoming maintenance I might need and how things were on the car because that system was down. I know the aux battery is bad, it hesitated to start twice this last week and the idle is a little rough. I have been a long time Midas customer at a Midas in Bixby, OK. My welcoming to Houston is that the Midas on Dairy Ashford sucks. I went there because of my experience with the Bixby store and it is near my house. I gave him 2 stars because this car was ripe for needing $2k is maint on it and atleast they didn't try to sell me on a bunch of unnecessary items. read more

This place is solid. Professional, clean, and accommodating. I stopped by for an oil change with a Groupon, they informed me they'd just price match it in the future and no need to buy the Groupon again. They fit me in without an appointment, and most importantly, did not try to haggle me or finesse any extra services out of me. Being a single woman coming in, I wasn't sure what to expect, but they impressed me on many levels. They offered kind advice, and were very respectful and knowledgeable. I will certainly be returning in the future. read more

Do NOT go to the Midas on 2500 S Dairy Ashford Rd, Houston, TX 77077. This was the worst service I have ever received. I took my car in to get a catalytic converter replaced and they were never able to fix it. I had to take my car back 5 times because it kept tripping the check engine light after it was "repaired". I ended up having to take it to a new repair shop and spend even more money to fix what this company did. It turns out they were installing the wrong parts. The store manager, Steve, was incredibly rude and would just put me on permanent hold every time I called. Their district manager also has never called me back. I did not receive a refund for any of this either so I was out almost $4k. Do not use this company if you do not want your money stolen from you. I have filed a few cases with their corporate team and was told this stores regional manager would reach out to me, but that never happened. I followed up with the instructions that was commented on my google review and no one reached out either. I even filed a report with the BBB. Do NOT go to this store. They do not know what they are doing, they are basically liars since I do what is asked and nothing happens, and when they don't fix your problem you are still stuck with a bill and no resolution insight. read more

Went in for an oil change with no previous issues and they told me I had a coolant leak after they finished with the oil change. The overweight manager told me it was $40 to check where the leak was coming from then gave an attitude after I told him I'll get it checked myself. The next day the AC was blowing hot air for the first time in the 8 years I had the car. Went and got my car fixed the next day at a repair shop and spent a few hundred to get the hoses replaced. They 100% sabotaged my car and thought they were slick. Losers lol. I'd give them zero stars if I could read more

I was at Mr. Martiz's place to change the battery in my car. The man negotiated because I did not speak fluent English. He treated me badly with bad manners and attitude. In addition, I did not have clients at that time, bad place, bad treatment, I do not recommend this facility. read more

went in for a oil change and came out with a $2200 bill instead. this was a horrible experience for me. I was told that I needed brakes and rotors front and back there was a problem with them getting the rotors off no one called to inform me they just forced them off and when they finish the brakes the abs light was on so they changed the sensor and the hubs and charged me for the hubs. I'm so disappointed I didn't have extra money to give away . The training manager was supposed to call me to confirm the work I never received a call the store manager Steve tried to help which I do appreciate that but at the end of the day I'm out of $2200 dollars and on top of all of that now when I press on the brake pedal it's making a squeaking noise. This is horrible please stay away from here no family or friends of mines will visit this place. I will be contacting the BBB read more

Randy is the store manager and is money hungry. I came in for an oil change and he instantly tried to make me buy the more expensive oil saying the current oil I'm using (and have been using since I purchased the car) will mess up my car but little does he know I have mechanics in my family who have been doing my oil changes and I know they wouldn't put something in my car if it was going to mess up. When I told him no I don't want that kind he told me he was going to refuse my service after taking the oil out of my car, he quickly changed his mind when I told him I would gladly take my business somewhere else. I will still be taking my car somewhere else where they aren't worried about how much someone is spending but instead making sure their customers cars are healthy and taken care of properly read more

I came for an oil change and I believe I came across as competent so they delivered acceptable work without any extras. However they seem like if they can take advantage of you, they will. At some point they mentioned an "oil disposing" fee that they "waved" for me (something I've never heard of in 5 years of owning a car and keeping up with oil changes), and while I waited I overheard a conversation with another client where Midas was attempting to add extra unnecessary work and add extra fees. They also lacked professionalism, one of the workers went out to buy beers in the middle of the day. My suggestion is if you can't find somewhere else, just go in cautiously and educate yourself on what your car needs exactly. read more

Stopped in to get a front blinker bulb replaced on my 2007 caddy SRX... I checked two other places before coming here and they gave me a quote of 200 plus. Ridiculous-so needless to say I decided to shop around (and that was just for labor because I had the bulbs already). Well I'm driving home from work and I spot Midas, never even thought of calling then so I do, the guy was very nice and welcoming, told me to bring my car in so they could look at it... I damn near did a donut trying to turn around and see what he would have to say. Well the other two shops told me they would have to remove the bumper to get to it, but that wasn't the case, they were able to go in front of the tire to do it, and best of all he charged me 20 dollars!!!! Needless to say they now have a customer for life!!!! read more

First came here in 1997. Been coming here regularly the past 10 years even though I moved an hour away. Mainly because of Eric (owner) and good customer service. He retired and today is my last time here ever. In the past 6 years I have paid to have rear axle done 3 times, and was told recurring problem probably due to a bent axle. Total cost of about 2000 over 6 years. Today the mechanic told me he discovered why the problem keeps happening, due to a groove in axle housing that they didn't see before. Is new management willing to do ANYTHING to help with additional cost of 800 (on top of 600 already spent today) to permanently fix the problem? no. He said they had no proof that this problem existed before, even though it's the 3rd time it has been repaired at this very shop. So no easy choice but to just have it repaired. In addition, they refused to honor the $30 coupon, since he "underestimated" the quote for the work. You've lost a customer that was willing to drive over an hour to your shop. bye! I've never seen the bays so empty and I can understand why. UPDATE: Vehicle axle is still leaking and now Sam "the supposed owner" is saying they will not even look at the vehicle anymore. That there is absolutely NO WARRANTY on their work, and that this Midas is not associated with the national chain. Really? read more

Giving 1 star because can't give 0, came in this establishment for an oil change, Oscar the manager is very personable, however, I explained a secondary problem in which I was charged for the oil change and the diagnostic for secondary concern. The technician oiled my key and ignition switch and told me it works its fixed, I explained not the case problem still exists, so Oscar says bring it back next day, he will have expert look at it. Roll in at 815 am the next morning, keeping in mind I bought the car brand new have driven it for 7 years without a problem, by 825 he is calling me it's user error there is nothing wrong with your car, I explain again the problem and he then explains the spring in the ignition is wearing but it's fine you are not turning it off correctly. I explained that on Google I'm told the problem is the parking switch, again Oscar says no that's not the problem it's the spring and it's going to cost a couple thousand to fix. So I picked my car up, pockets $192 lighter and problem persistent, Today my coworker took gear shift apart bent a piece of metal back correctly and the car is again working as intended. 0 out of 10 do not recommend for anything other than an oil change. !!!THIS IS A WARNING!!! DO NOT ENTER THIS BUILDING TL;DR is manager Steve at this Midas finessed me and then lied to my face, very positive my signature was also forged on loan documents for work I specifically said I didn't want done when I entered the shop, got buried in $3k of debt at a rate 15x the legal limit, and I had to leave stuff out to fit this here. After checking some other yelp reviews, it seems I'm not the only person this has happened to. Sorry it's long, wanted to be thorough, hope the formatting makes it easy to read. I entered Midas on S Dairy Ashford Oct 27, 2023 around 12:00pm under the impression I needed a break pad replacement as my car is only 3 years old and the breaks had just recently started squeaking, and had done research to make sure this was doable. I also mentioned I wouldn't be able to afford it yet and just wanted to know how much it would cost, and was planning on returning at a later date to have the work done as I also had work later that day and an event to attend in the evening. I was assured there were financing options available and not to worry, they could get me set up right then and there. I figured something like a break pad replacement wouldn't take super long or be very expensive (was expecting around 4-500$), and I still had three hours before work. They didn't look super busy, so I completed the loan qualification form just to see if I would be able to have the work done there. I was approved for 2,400$ in financing (this should have been my first clue something was up). Then my car was pulled into the shop and they started taking a look. After two hours, I asked how much longer it would be for my estimate. I had heard someone order a bundle over the phone and was nervous they had ordered rotors for my car, and I had to leave soon. He mentioned they were ordering and waiting on parts, which concerned me because no one had said literally anything to me at this point. Come to find out they had indeed ordered a rotor break bundle for my car, and they had decided to replace everything without checking with me or getting any kind of approval, because 'replacing just the pads is something we just don't do. Just can't do it'. That's fine, if that's the case. but nobody had mentioned this to me. I asked how much it was going to cost and they printed me an invoice with 4 digits on it, which I was not very happy about considering nobody had approved this with me. It was explained to me my rotors were heat warped, because 'Hyundai uses low quality materials', and had to be replaced, so I asked if they would take me into the shop to show me, which Steve did, even though I was wearing sandals (which has to be against safety regulations), and I went and looked, obviously I just took his word for it. I couldn't contact any of my people either, because my phone had been dead this whole time, so I had no way of finding out or getting a second opinion. I let him know I cannot afford this right now, which is exactly what I had already said multiple times. I asked about the financing and he assured me I wouldn't have to make any payments for two months, and that there was no interest. This made me feel better as I figured it would be manageable. I said ok, I guess I need new ones anyways, under the impression I had been painted the full picture. This was not the case. I filled out the rest of the paperwork electronically, didn't see any mention of any payment plan or interest rate, so you can only imagine my absolute terror when I received an E-mail a few days later notifying me I'm enrolled in weekly payments of 40$ that start next week. Open the documents to find the loan is financed at 154% with 70~ weekly payments (totaling almost 3,000$). The legal usury limit in Texas is 10%. I had never seen these sheets before. I don't know ANYBODY who would sign for a loan at 154% willingly. The manager also asked me for my loan pin which it specifically said not to give to any employee, but to type, which I thought was very strange, and am now wondering if that had something to do with it. Afterwards I consulted with one of my friends who is a mechanic in North Houston who confirmed I was ripped off. The breaks they put on work, but are super noisy and groan every other time I break. I have already been majorly inconvenienced by these payments, and will continue to be. I sent in an electronic message containing this experience through the online complaint portal, the only communication back I received was one voice mail from the shop asking me to call them, and understandably, I would really rather speak to anyone else than someone from that shop, unless it's them refunding me in full, which was not mentioned in the voicemail. I'm hoping someone in the company sees this and can make this right. I plan to begin contacting lawyers within a few days if not. Hopefully this serves as a good warning for anyone who might see it. Pretty cool place to begin with. I made my reservation online for the weekend. But I received a call from a lady to confirm the appointment. Well, the computer didn't know their schedule. But she was able to find a time on Monday. The schedule worked for me. This is a husband-wife team. The owner is very knowledgeable with cars. Service was satisfying. I heard he gave a customer $10 off for being a war veteran. He was in the forces himself. It's nice to see more businesses looking out for the vets. I always wanted to come to Midas. But since my car was new at that time, I had to go to the dealer. Now my SUV is matured. This would be the place I come to get serviced. The facility is very clean. The mechanics are friendly and approachable. Like the slogan says, "Trust the Midas touch". read more

Five stars for Eric. Very sad to hear Eric is no longer the owner. Eric was a perfect example of kindness and honesty. He was not in it for the money for sure. Once my Jeep dealership told me I needed brakes immediately. They we're going to charge near$1000. So I went to Midas to see if I could get it done cheaper. Eric told me. Ma'am, theres nothing wrong with your brakes. I never went back to the dealership again. I only took my car to Eric. It was nearly 2 years before I heard my brakes squeak. I found out from reading the reviews Eric is gone. So sad. I immediately looked for a new place to go. Thank you Eric and best wishes!!! read more

I was very happy with my experience getting my brakes and rotors serviced. From the time I called until the time I was done and out the door it was less than two hours, and that's including driving there. All in all - good price, good service, I'll be sure to use them again in the future. read more

10/23-One of my work colleagues recommended this place & I am so thankful she did. I told the gentleman about what was going on & he went right to work. The front desk service woman was beyond polite and very friendly. This morning I took my car back to Midas so they could check the shacking that started after they fixed something else. I barely spoke with the new manager, Sam, and before I could say anything about the service I needed and that I was going to pay for, he kept interrupting me and telling me that he had so many car in his shop that needed to take care of and that if I had anything to say I needed to hurry up. He was very rude with me over the phone and couldn't waste time hearing what I had to say about the problem with my car. My only option was to get my car back since he didn't want to spend a few minutes to hear why I took it there. He just lost my business, that is no way to treat a customer of 15 plus years. read more

I came for the 49.99 special that includes full synthetic oil change with tire rotation. Somehow the 49.99 special ended up being 60.10 dollars, how did the price increased 10 dollars, 20% taxes?. I had been nervous about going to other places in the past, fearing that they would take advantage of the fact I didn't have much knowledge on certain things. With that being said, this place is fantastic and I truly trust their judgement with everything! I was looking to purchase a 2017 Nissan from a car dealership (not one of the major ones like Mossy, Don McGill, etc). The person trying to sell the car, had told me it was in an accident, but made it sound like it was a little fender bender. Nothing big. Well decided to get it checked out before I purchased it...and so glad I did. I believe Eric was the one who checked out the car, and notified me that it had been in an accident that was a little more than just a fender bender...and that the AC wasn't working correctly, despite the fact the car had been a rental and had less than 4K miles on it. The information he gave me, basically helped me to make the decision down the road..to not purchase that car, and I'm glad I took it to Midas! Will keep coming back to this place! read more

MIDAS - S. Dairy Ashford/ HTown 77o77 is trash and will take your money and give your car back to you worse than you took it to them. 9/21/22 took my car in for recommended work Valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, cooling system labor (new water pump), tune up, alternator belt. paid close to 2,000 for the work only to get it back screeching when I push on the accelerator, sounding like a lawn mower from my ac (why I didn't ask for this to be fixed) and then running hot. WTH the work I paid for is supposed to keep it from running hot. It wasn't doing any of that before. Took my ride back up there on 9/22/22 in the morning had tech ride with me so I can show him the issues they caused. He admitted it was from the work he did, and an easy fix and my car would be first priority. I took a rideshare home (more money I'm out of) waited till 4pm so they can do their job. Well, I had to call and call I figured my calls was going ignored so I had my brother call just for R@ndy GM to answer immediately (unprofessional) R@ndy told me that R!ch@rd (the tech that messed my ride up) had to leave for his wife dentist appointment and supposed to be back but hadn't and won't be back till 9/23/22 the next day. I've missed 2 addition days of wk due to this Midas madness, no ride and took my money. I requested a rental R@ndy bs saying he will text his DM. note I had to call from my mom's number, and a google voice number to get this last bit of info. They don't do rentals. THIS IS MADNESS I used this location for years this new staff is trash. I want my ride fixed and the two days I had to miss work or refund part of the money I paid back to cover those days and my rideshare money back. UPDATE day 3 so, the missing worse tech ever Richard came back fixed on my ride got ride of the sounds but my darn ride is still over heating. I'm disappointed, dissatisfied, sad, traumatized, worried, out of funds, this is abuse, from these guys & store. Randy & Richard are trash and I reported the to BBB as well.
