In the past, I have been very pleased by the service I have received at Hamilton Midas. Last Fall I took my car in for service before making a 600 mile trip. They moved my Honda's rear tires and put them on the front and put 2 new tires on the back. When I got to South Carolina I found symptoms of a serious front-end problem. On October 26, 2024, I took my car to a Midas shop in Lexington SC and they fixed my problem. They discovered extremely serious issues that resulted from improperly performed work done at this Midas in Hamilton NJ before the trip. The Midas dealer in SC found 2 broken studs on the left front wheel and one missing lugnut on the right front wheel. All of the remaining lugnuts on the front wheels were loose or only finger tight I talked to Pierre at Hamilton Midas about this when I returned and at his request provided him a copy of the receipt. I told him that I am looking for $838.00 to be refunded for the work that was performed to replaced the broken lugnuts. Because of the great service I have received there in the past, I have been reluctant to post this review. We all make mistakes but I was lucky that the wheels did not come of on I-95. I would expect Midas to make good on the $838 that one mechanic's carelessness cost me. So far I have not received compensation or even $838. read more

Midas is unable to do engine repairs. They had been working on my car for a few days, eventually gave up, put all the old parts back in, and told me they could not work on the car any further because the engine needed to be replaced. I had to get my car towed from their repair shop to Superior Automotive, upon their own recommendation. After all this, I was still charged for a part that I did not need. read more

While driving on 195, I unfortunately got a flat tire that was beyond repair. AAA was sending a tow truck and indicated my car would be towed to Midas in Hamilton Square. I called ahead to check that they had my tire size in stock and would be able to put the tire on. I spoke with Pierre who was very helpful in assisting me to determine the correct tire size, indicated he did have the tire available, and would be able to put the tire on. AAA was not sure exactly when the tow truck would arrive; Pierre reassured me he would wait at his establishment until I arrived even if it was after the closing time. Pierre really went above and beyond in customer service! I appreciated that so much as I was quite a distance from home! Highly recommend!! read more

I had a bunch of things wrong with my car the few years I've had it, i took it to so many mechanics that couldn't fix it, i decided to come to midas, and they did the work in literally one day, ONE DAY. i'm so happy, my car runs better than ever. DO NOT GO. Went for a simple oil change and they failed to put my oil filter back in correctly resulting in a leak of oil from my engine and my entire engine to seize! Needed a completely new engine which cost a fortune, all because of an oil change. Go anywhere else read more

One day it's one thing, the next day it's something else a whole lot more expensive. My Mother recommended these people and I'm wondering how long they've taken advantage of her. I'm still in the process of getting work done on my car so, I will return with a work review. But, at this time I can't recommend them to anybody. They should be avoided. Said they had to order a piece from Germany and it would take 3 to 5 days to get it but, the next day they have the piece and now have to fix a much bigger problem. They tried to upsell and flat out lied to me. Went for an oil change and was told my tires are bald. The guy made it seem like I should have a sense of urgency, good thing I bought the tires at another Midas and they were still under warranty. Took the car there and the tires were fine and were where they should be in their life. I watched him measure the tread. They also informed me that it appeared that the tires hadn't been rotated in a long time along with the alignment was off. . . . So not only was this location recommending unnecessary work, but they weren't recommending work that should've been done. Almost seems like sabotage. Then after looking through my service records, the tire tread readings are inconsistent. Example (December the tire tread is a 3, then in February the tread is a 7). I dropped my car off early in the morning with a very flat tire I called around 7:45 and Rob answered immediately. They were able to take my car first thing in the morning and by 8:45 in the morning I was able to get back to what I had to I really appreciate the quick service and reasonable prices read more

My experience here was Fantastic, Rob and his team bent over backwards to get my truck back on the road after I blew the front left brake line. I blew the line on rt33 and I pulled in here in a panic since I couldn't stop my vehicle. Rob greeted me with amazing customer service got my truck right in and had it fixed by the end of the day he may have actually saved my life. These guys will be getting all of my future repairs big and small from here on out! read more

I'm extremely surprised to see that this place has two stars. I just called last minute on a Saturday and they fit me in. My service light was on , a different auto body shop never reset. They had me in and out in fifteen minutes and saved me from doing the diagnostic test. I'll be back for sure! read more

Came by this location to try to get an oil change. Before I could even walk through the entrance the mechanic stopped me outside and asked me what I needed. I told him I needed an oil change. He told me that there was a long wait and he wasn't going to be able to help me until later that day. That was fine. I proceeded to say thanks and walk to my car. After I sat down and looked up I saw him staring at me with a look of disgust. Idk what his problem was. Maybe it was the fact that I pulled up with my music blasting. It doesn't matter though, you don't stare down potential customers like that. Needless to say I drove down the street to Jiffy Lube and they had me in and out in a jiffy! read more

I had a great experience at Midas! Rob was extremely helpful and answered any questions I had. By far, the best experience I've had at any auto shop. I will for sure come to Midas for any servicing my vehicle needs. I know I'll get honest recommendations and a thorough explanation of what is needed plus pricing. I will recommend any who is in need of service on their car to visit midas on route 33. I know that Rob will make sure they leave a very happy customer! I got four brand new tires at a great price. I came here with 1 rim/tire that was off the car and in my trunk. I walked in and asked if they can replace the rubber valve cause it was leaking and wheel is in my trunk. Guy said "what kind of car"? Really?? Does it matter what kind of car? Its a god damn tire valve! So guy walks over and looks at tire in my trunk and says "Oh we can't work on that rim we don't have the machine for it", Seriously? Midas does not own a tire machine??? He said "you need a special tire machine to do that kind of tire". A rubber valve is all I wanted not tires not mounting nothing! Its a 275/35 18 tire on a 18inch rim. I said just replace the rubber valve I will pay you, "No sorry we can't help you maybe Nissan dealer across the street can help you". WOW! Not only are you an Idiot, you dont want my business, you refuse to work on my tire even tho I can clearly see the tire machine from outside, you send me to some other shop, you wanted nothing to do with me. No wonder why this Midas always has an empty parking lot! Stay away! read more

I have been to this Midas several times over the years and never had a problem (at least I think I haven't), but in light of this new development, it leaves me to wonder have I been dealt with in the most ethical way. In May I brought my car here to have a passenger side back bulb replaced, which they was suppose to have done it. Apparently, I have been driving with that same bulb out for weeks and was stopped by a police officer to advise me my light was out. I showed him the receipt that I was suppose to have it changed and he let me go with a warning. I returned the car to Midas and was basically greeted as if I was lying and trying to get over on them. I asked him to look into the system and see what bulb was noted that was changed and he said to me, "it was noted in the system"- REALLY!!! He hesitantly had another worker pull the car to the back to look at the bulb, in which the person called me back and told me that it may be a shortage in the wiring because the bulb is working and this was the one they changed....he said, he twisted it and it works. I examined the car and both lights were on, but you could see the left was brighter than the right and anybody can see the left side shined brighter. I left with the car and drove it for several more weeks and someone else told me that same light was out. This has now turned into a 6 weeks ordeal, 2 visit to Midas, one police stop and annoyance of one bulb. My better mind told me to take it to another place to have it looked at because at this point, my trust level was very low for Midas. I took it to the other place and these guys were professional out the gate and took the car and looked into the issue and came to me and said, "there is not an issue with your wiring, we changed the bulb for you for FREE" Midas risked their reputation over a $16.00 bulb. This left a bad taste in my mouth and needless say i will not be going back to them. Makes me wonder, have I been dealt with honesty in regards to work and charges in the past. Doesn't matter at this point because they will never get another penny from me. Proceed with caution. read more

Terrible service and attitude! Had a complete break job done there for ~$1600 and the brakes were squealing from day one. Thought it would go away since they were new but it never did. I brought it back a few weeks later and was told my emergency brakes were the culprit. They were rusted and broke apart after my brake job. Are you serious! You mean to tell me they were so rusted that they broke apart right "After" you fixed my brakes and you never noticed how bad their condition was!? Ridiculous!!! They charged me more to fix the emergency brakes then sent me home without checking them. I got home and found out they were not working at all now! Lucky for me I didn't need them on my ride home! They replaced them but never checked to see if they worked?? Again, very unprofessional way to run a business! Check your work Idiots! When I came back, the guy behind the counter would rather argue with me than help me. After much argument and much waiting for service, they told me the spring came loose. Cam, loose or was never correctly installed in the first place?? No apologies from them of course! Either way, they gave me terrible brake service and terrible customer service. Nothing for my trouble but anger and blame that was vehicle was over 10 years old. Heck my old truck of the same brand is over 30 years old and never had these problems!
