We had what we thought was a large nail in our front left tire--- So we took it in and were immediately satisfied. It had only been a tiny screw that didn't puncture all the way through. The minimum for patching a tire was over $20 but the lady said it was small and no big deal-- she let us go without having to pay a dime! Very good service ;) read more

I decided to try Midas for the first time in January for just an oil change. Two weeks later my engine was making a horrible noise. I took it to two different shops and both of them said my car was low on oil and you could hear my timing chains going. Two separate mechanics said whoever did my oil change did not put the plug back in properly and my car was leaking oil. I called Midas and told them what happened. Tim the manager said to bring my car in and they have insurance if they did something wrong. After looking at my car, Tim called me and told me he did another oil change on my car, my oil filter weighed over 2 pounds full of oil and it was a faulty filter. He claims there is no damage to my timing chains now. Then he informs me that my power steering is leaking and it's $900 to fix that. I am picking my car up in a few hours when they open. Tim even quoted me a price INCLUDING the oil change! He was going to actually charge me for another oil change! Also, two mechanics looked at my car and said there was no power steering fluid leaking. Something is not right here. I'm getting my car out of there at 7:30am this morning! I am bringing my car to the Nissan dealership immediately. If they do. It find this leak, or there is damage to my engine from this experience, I will see Midas in court. read more

Went in for a courtesy check before a 300+ mile trip the next day which i informed the mechanic working on my car about. The mechanics told me that all my fluids were good and that the only thing that needed to be changed were my rear brakes. I asked them to change my rear brakes and they did however they did not retorque back down my tire correctly so my tire came off while i was driving. I do not recommend these people for working on your car. They endangered my life knowing that i had a road trip the next day and on top of that i now have to spend more money fixing the problem that these so called mechanics worked on. Avoid at all costs. read more

Awful service!! I called them a couple hours in advance and asked if I could come in at 4:45pm to have an emissions inspection. They told me sure and to come in then. I came in and the guy at the counter said he couldn't take me because he just took someone elses car in for an emissions inspection it was 4:48 and I was 3 minutes late. I thought he was kidding at first, well he wasn't. Definitely not going back there. They aren't getting my business. Rude and horrible customer service. read more

Overpriced and complete cheats. Any problem with your car, mind me these guys will recommend only replacements, repair word is simply off their dictionary. Had gone here to get CELdiagnosed and for $100 these cheats gave me only Engine code along with whooping $1700 estimate to get all six spark plugs and ignition coil replaced. Thank god I know some basics around car mechanics, got my car serviced by another repair shop and got the work done in just $190...imagine 10 times lesser than what these guys estimated. Never go there if you love your car and your hard earned money. read more

My husband took the car for a simple full synthetic oil change. We were brand new to the base and saw they advertise to the military. They just took advantage of us. They did not know what they were doing because they filled my car to the brim. My emergency light on my car went crazy when we finally pulled off the I95 we looked under the hood of our car and saw the oil gushing out of my engine. We got lucky! They also tried to up sell us for many unnecessary things. Do not go here stay away save your car and save your money. Especially if you are military too! read more

Scheduled an appointment for at 11 o'clock. I came 10 minutes early and somehow I've been waiting for an hour and a half JUST FOR A BALANCE. Don't go here if you have a tight schedule or don't have the ability to be patient. read more

went for a brake estimate. said front rotors brake pads and calipers along with rear brakes needed to be replaced also a brake hose. estimate came up to over $1000. noticed there were upcharging the parts by almost double... also was told all 4 tires tread depth were at 4/32 of an inch... i kinda laughed at that one. went to cdl training school and i know what tread depth is and looks like... those tires are no where near that. stay away from these overcharging scammers read more

Great experience this week! The staff was very friendly. After an initial quote over the phone, they found a simple solution to the problem in person (and saved me money!). They clearly strive to please the customer. I recommend coming here! read more

I was stalling having my brakes done and decided to go to the Midas in Groton. What a wonderful place! The young girl at the front desk, Tammie, was so pleasant and helpful. They were able to do all of the work I needed for a very reasonable price! They also helped me a few months later with another issue and again a wonderful experience!!! read more

I came her to get a routine brake inspection. I know my car well enough to know if my brakes vibrate or shutter. However Midas beg to differ and said I needed new brakes. They wanted me to shell out 600$. Maybe they put gold bars in their brake pads. The bottom line is that they were either dishonest/ clueless . Be careful - I went to a different retail shop, paid less than half of the above for OPTIONAL rear brake pads. Always shop around. read more

this repair facility used to be great when the old Manager Tim Crippin was there now not so you would you's notice. issue 1- A/C problem- needs to have the freon bled so the issue can be fixed cost of freon was quoted at $100 (approx) per pound my vehicle takes 5 pounds the other repair place I went to also does A/c work their cost was about 1/2 that. Big issue- saying work was needed that wasn't- I have a leak- they said it was my rear main seal ( It had been replaced a few year back and the area was still a mess from that and a couple other repaired leaks. That leak is Not the rear main seal it is the Power Steering High Pressure lines when I asked about some steering problems- did not say anything about the grease seals for my ball joints being blown out ( when I doing a radiator flush after a recent oil & lube it looked like the ball joint and idler are fittings were not even touched) my steering issues is Ball joints & idler arms ball joints are bad and at least 1 idler arm has sheared off due to cost or repairs vs book value of my current vehicle I am forced to replace it am I going back there- no way when Tim was there they would catch problems while they were small and less expensive to repair- they would show me what the issue was and I was treated like I had a brain read more

Just spoke to my neighbor who said she had heard bad things also. To test the theory, she replaced her air filter, then went to this place for an oil change (i think she had an oil change coupon). End result: they told her she needed a new air filter and tried to sell her one at 50% more than she just paid. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I always do my own work to my vehicles, and the only reason why I came here is because of time constraints. My jeep has no check engine light on but being a very mechanically inclined person, I knew something was wrong with my jeep because every so often the jeep would all of a sudden stall and have no power. So I turned the key on and off 3 times to have the code appear on my dash and the only code that came up was p0320 which is the crankshaft position sensor. So since I didn't have time to do it myself I figured what the heck have them get it done real quick and pay them. It should only take 20-45 min to do. They fix my car and they get paid, everyone is happy! But with these previous reviews and against my better judgement I was very hesitant and kept reminding myself of how shops like this one are rip offs and still give them a chance! As I'm standing in line waiting my turn I listen to the customer in front of me getting quoted for 711.00 dollars for a valve cover GASKET and an O2 sensor or knock sensor! That's absurd knowing that those parts by themselves are less then 100 dollars give or take 50 bucks! So again I'm asking myself if I should even be here, but I figured lets just see what they say about my sensor knowing that's what my problem is and that's the only thing I want fixed and I already had the part for them just to install. After they got done ripping the customer in front of me a new one, I asked how much it would be for them to install the new sensor and right off the bat the assumed manager told me that I wouldn't have been able to drive my vehicle there with a bad crankshaft sensor. First of all I didn't ask him for his advice, I asked how much it would be for them to install the part I (the customer) want installed on my car! Secondly I only knew that if I stayed there they would have tried telling me all the other things that I know I don't need (like a continuum transfunctioner or some other part that is not needed and try ripping me off! Previous part really isn't real, some will get the joke and sarcasm), anyways knowing what they were already going to say and belittle me like I'm completely incompetent of knowing anything about cars when I myself know many things about all different types of vehicles just put the nail in the coffin and confirmed what I already knew about this place! At this point I just walked out and decided to do it myself later in the weekend, and drove away in my vehicle with a bad crankshaft sensor which is possible ( research for yourselves) but do still have stall outs once in a while but will do it myself and save time, money, and the concerns of someone else working on my vehicle that probably has less experience then me and would probably screw something else up! The manager was cocky, rude, and arrogant and should probably brush up on his customer service skills and listen to what the customer wants done to there vehicle not what he suggests unless asked first! I'm sorry for this long review, ( and this is the first and only review I've ever written in my life) but I truly don't want anyone getting screwed over at this place! I didn't even want to check the one star to be able to write this review because this place was horrible! I give it 0 out of 5! I'll never understand why shops rip people off so bad and to top it off treat them like crap and the customers think they got a great deal! They are worse then car salesmen and it's nice to be able to see through there crap! I work on cars on the side and have gotten a lot of people to see through there crap as well, and it's nice to really help people out without them signing their lives over to me! So thank you Midas for treating the people the way you do and sending business my way. You help me, and you help the people that no longer come to you because they no longer trust you after I show them and prove to them how you treat them! I know their cars appreciate it too, and don't bother sending me a customer service review trying to say how great you guys are, I don't want to hear it and it will not change my mind! Please for the sake of yourselves, cars, and wallets and or pocketbooks, DO NOT COME HERE!!!!!!!! read more
