Thorough and honest. Just wow! I love my 2012 Subaru but she's having some bigger issues these days. I keep my cars, so I had every intention on replacing the catalytic converter at Midas instead of the dealership because of cost. $5k at the Subaru dealer and probably around $1500 at a local Midas. Not this place- they gave the car a full inspection and came back with an honest list of repair needs. To the point where they could give me an estimate, but it's more than the value of the car. Here's the punchline. I'm from Nevada. They could have taken advantage of me knowing they will never see me again. They didn't do that. They were honest. Bait and switch tactics. Over the last two years I called them twice on the phone for an estimate. When I walked in they wanted to charge me more with some lame excuse that "other people work here". An oil change went from 84 to 123. I'm done doing business with them. On top of it they have a deceptive sign in from that says an oil change is 84! I'm done dealing with this location! read more

I had a great experience at Midas in Franklin this week!!! I needed a new tire since mine was punctured from a large nail. I drove in and Alex looked at the tire to check if he had it in stock. I was worried since I have a 20 year old Volvo. Luckily, he had the exact tire I needed! Kevin was very helpful as well and they both told me they were able to replace it immediately. They both made the process very easy and friendly for me. Within 30 minutes I had a brand new tire and was on my way. If/when I need their services I won't hesitate to return. read more

What a disappoint this business is. I went here today to have them change the oil in my C7 Corvette and instead of telling me that they didn't know how to change it or that they didn't want to do the job, they jerked me around and told me the oil change (which is normally less than $140.00 at the dealership) was going to cost me $326.00.... How unprofessional can you be... To the mechanic who claims he is the "GM Guy" you should be ashamed of yourself. If you don't want the job , just say so. Everyone should be aware of how they treat the customers at this location. Midas will never see anything from me and I plan to tell everyone I know in Franklin how they treated a US Veteran today. We have been using Midas Franklin for the last 5 years and appreciate their quality, professional approach to car maintenance and care. While I strive to never need to go there, when I need to, Simon is always more than willing to find me a slot and get us back out and on the road. They explain issues or recommended repairs patiently and leave the option to the customer, never pushing or overselling the service. We've done thousands of dollars of business with Midas Franklin over the years and don't regret a minute (ok, dollar) of it. I'm willing to pay a little bit more than your lowest priced mechanic to get good, quality, timely service. Whether it's your normal oil change, brakes, new tires or any other potential car trouble, they have you covered. Stay away my wife made an appointment for an oil change at 9:00 am 4/24/22 dropped the vehicle off at 8:30 am. Called at 1:00 pm and was told they would try to have it done at 4 or 4:30 . Dropped my wife off at 3:45 to pick up car as it was on the lift. She informed the clerk she would wait for it. He wouldn't let her wait in the empty waiting room and made her wait outside in 25 degree weather. Stay local Goodbye corporate. read more

Just completed a full brake job for my Silverado. The team here was extremely professional, explained everything and shared all the options. No pressure decisions. Later they informed our oil life was below 9% and that typically we could still drive a little longer before it needed changing. Again, no pressure. We're headed out on a trip Tuesday so I had them do it. Every time I have service done here it's friendly, fast and completed the same day. Highly recommend these guys! read more

I used to own a fleet of vehicles in a former business and had "My Guy" take care of all their maintenance because I trusted him to do good, safe, work at a fair price. Midas in Franklin are "My Guys" now. They consistently exceed expectations in both the value they deliver and the timeliness and quality of their work. The entire crew, from the management to their technicians is kind, helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. This review is from a long time customer.. Black Friday 2022 I had a blow out front tire getting on to rt 495 franklin Ma. Approximately 1 mile from the Midas location in Franklin MA. I figured I could have Midas install a tire some time that day. I called Jason the store manager to explain my situation. I told him I had blown a tire just up the street on 495 north. Again a mile or less from him. I've been a regular loyal customer for years, spent thousands of dollars in that time. Most companies love regular customers. Not Jason the store manager at Midas Franklin Ma. After again explaining my situation Jason's response was "the earliest I can get you in was Monday the 28th of November. Three days after my request. So much for loyalty. After several hours of searching to have a tire installed I found a garage to install a tire on my rim. The garage took it right in. 18 minutes later the tire was done. Thank you Midas Franklin Ma for your concern. So much for being a loyal customer. read more

I went in for my oil change and had a coupon. They asked if I wanted a tire rotation - which I declined. They gave me a time frame for the work to be done, and I left. Later, the manager called saying my tires were a bit worn and I should do the rotation, which was free of charge (part of the oil change!) Of course I agreed. Later they sent me an update video with the things that needed to be looked at, and were on time even with the added rotation. They easily could have taken my word and not reminded me of the free rotation, but they took the extra minute to call me! I will go back, simply because of the service! read more

GET A SECOND OPINION I have taken two vehicles to this location for estimates. Estimates have always been close to $1000 each time. Recent estimate was $950 to replace an exhaust manifold. Got a second opinion from a local service station, turns out it was a loose flange and they fixed it for under $100. Midas is supposed to be the "Exhaust Expert". They could not even trouble shoot a loose flange. read more

I called to get my brakes checked. I tried to schedule an appointment same day. I promptly got a call from Ethan explaining they couldn't do same day but to pick a time next day. Went in the next day to have the car serviced. A I walked in the shop, I was greeted by Ethan by my name. I was impressed as more people showed up and he actually took the time to check the schedule to call each person by their name. Ethan explained everything to me in detail about my service, as he did everyone else who came in. Ethan was extremely upbeat and happy to help. I needed a check on break lights for Honda as another auto shop said bulbs are fine and probably electric circuit issues causing both not to work. Midas took a look at it and explained me upfront on possible charges of electrical issues, if they have to do. Had my car fail inspection for some holes in the muffler that was making it too loud. I'll never understand how choppers and modified cars with tuned mufflers that sound like a jet turbine working in overdrive are legal but that's besides the point. I haven't found a local mechanic that's given me the warm-and-fuzzies and I was hesitant to bring it to my local stealership (I'm kidding, I like my dealership, just couldn't resist that joke). I've driven by this Midas for a year since it opened and decided to just lob an email to them to see if they had a chance to put it on a lift and give me an estimate. Matt responded very quickly to my email, and we figured that the following morning would be good - although we had to push back a day because of a blizzard we got hit with. Matt greeted me, remembered exactly what I had asked for and got it right on to a lift to look it over. He gave me an update on what the problems was, where the problem spots were, and a printed breakdown of parts and labor costs. I agreed to the work and he said he'd have it done by the end of the day. Late afternoon rolls around and Matt gives me a ring, has me come in and pick it up and explained the warranty on the parts. I felt like the charges were all reasonable and the car passed reinspection that afternoon without issue. The Wrap-up: Friendly, prompt, professional service at a fair price. No pressure, I didn't feel upsold, and Matt and his team do great work. I'll certainly be coming back for any other things that I might need done! read more

I had a serious and sudden brake failure on my 2010 Toyota Rav4 and wasn't sure what I could do about it on short notice over the weekend. I called the Midas in Franklin on Saturday morning and they said, "No problem, we will get it fixed today". I drove my vehicle over very slowly and it was all fixed less than 4 hours later. The repair wasn't even as expensive as I thought it was going to be (failed brake caliper that destroyed hydraulic pressure in the brake system). They kept me informed about what they were doing, didn't try to upsell anything and provided excellent service at every step along the way. This is a new location that is very clean and seems to be very well managed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this Midas location to anyone and I will go back when I need repairs. read more

STAY AWAY! My second time using them - first time I got talked into more than I needed recurring theme based on some of the other reviews. I think "knowledgeable" is being confused with being talked in buying than you need. This time I brought my wife's 2012 Honda Pilot in to get the wheels balanced and steering fluid line replaced. Dropped car off and and a couple of hours later I get the Midas car report via text - what's working (39 items), what's not (4 items) and what are code red (9 items). I get the call from one of the tech - my wheel balancing and steering fluid fix had turned into $3,200 of repairs - 3 new tires, new power steering pump and line, new belts, Midas recommended updates et al. I decline the $3,200 option and asked to go with the 3 new tires and wheel balancing ($680). I ask for tire brand - tech gave me no-name tires for premium price. I decided to pass - I ask for existing tires to be balanced and steer fluid line fixed. I had dropped off the car before work and picked it up at 5:50PM - it turns out Midas had decided to not do anything with our car. Nothing. If you chose to not go with their recommendations they can decide to self-select out. The parting words from the passive aggressive receptionist was - "We don't believe your car is roadworthy, so to avoid liability we have decided not to do any work on it. I hope you have a great rest of the day!". I turn on my car to leave and the AC doesn't work. Coincidence! I tell the receptionist I'll be back the next day - he didn't care. I leave knowing I am not come back - I make it home no problem (45 miles). I decide to go to a my local guy today (take a day off work) - balanced tires and replaced steering fluid line - $350 - passed the MA inspection. STAY AWAY! Also, spare me the stock response you have used previously. Not one believes this canned nonsense! "We're sorry to hear you aren't happy with your Midas experience. We make our service recommendations based on a number of factors, including visible condition and manufacturer's recommended services for the vehicle make/model and mileage. Ultimately, we want to keep our customers safe. We'd like to talk with you in hopes of clearing up any misunderstanding. We've sent you a private message. Thank you." read more

I scheduled an appointment for my Honda Accord's brakes. There was significant grinding as well as a nail in my tire. They took my car in right away. They did an overall assessment and were very upfront on what was needed overall. They talked to and treated me like I was human. While there were a few things on top of the brakes, I focused on the brakes primarily. They were very respectful of my choices. I've taken my car to Sears for many years for oil changes, tires, brakes, etc. In the amount of time Sears usually takes for an oil change, Midas completed my front brakes, rear brakes, plugged and patched my tire, oil change, and brake flush. The waiting room was very clean. Bathroom was clean too! I will be visiting Midas again in the future when I'm in need of work on my car. I am very pleased with their work! read more

I went to get a tire patched a few months ago. While they did a good job patching the tire, they failed to secure the spare when they put it in the trunk of my car. In addition they didn't secure the hubcap properly as it disappeared a few weeks later. For a company that promotes the "Midas Touch' their touch was lacking. read more

This was my first and best experience in years. I started with an oil change, found out a screw just fell out of the center of the tire!! The screw belonged in an axle of of my car!! They were wonderful. They talked to me about fixing the problem. The part was delivered in less than an hour, and only the screw was needed. Brought my Mustang GT in for A/C service. Matt is a Mustang guy. I felt confident putting my Little Pony in his hands. Had a few questions beyond the A/C and he answered them all fully. Had him check my brake pads to see if they needed replacement. Here is where Matt and his crew shine. He could have very easily told me that they needed replacement. I would not have known the difference. Instead, he told me the pads were fine and had enough life in them. I recently brought in my 2007 BMW 328i for a check on the disc brakes (which I had purchased oversea). BMW repairs can be exceptionally expensive and you are often at the mercy of repair shop. Matt the Midas Franklin, MA Service Manager is always both professional and forthright. Matt referred me to the service technician Dennis. Dennis promptly surveyed the front and rear pads and advised there was still plenty of wear left on the brake pads and the rotors were still in good repair. I am in from out of State and need oil change. Offered free tire rotation and said Ok . I get back to home I am staying at and my wife says please check center caps on tires. Everyone is on wrong and one is almost off. Every valve stem cap is loose . The center caps aren't cheap. Good thing I checked before I continued. Not happy. Thanks read more

I went in to this new Midas to see if my car needed brakes. I could not have been more pleased. First, the place was spotless. Second, the service tech could not be more nice and helpful. After waiting 20 minutes or so, I received a call about my car. Expecting news that I faced a $800 plus quote, I hesitantly answered. To my shock, the tech told me my current brakes had about 50% life left and that I would not need them done! These guys could have easily done the brake job which I did not need at the time. I went in for an oil change they didn't tighten the oil filter all the way the oil leak into my starter motor they told me to bring it in because they had to inspect the starter motor it took me a couple of weeks to get back to them and when I brought in the starter motor they just told me how do they know this is the start that came out of my car very poor business read more
