this was the absolute worst shop I have ever seen had them fix my exhaust on my truck and it looked so bad a retarded monkey could have welded better than the so called mechanic that did the job can you say booger welds I don't think he has ever used a welder until today and then had the nerve to charge me almost $400 and when I said something to the boss he just laughed at me will never take my vehicle to them ever again and to top it all off now I have to pay another shop to fix the disaster they left behind couldn't even take a grinder to clean the welds up absolutely disgusting job read more

I am never taking my car to Midas again. My mechanic told me that I needed a radiator change as well as have my exhaust pipe welded back on. He could do the radiator but he isn't open on weekends and he didn't do welds at all. I decided to head to Midas. They changed the radiator, but for the exhaust, they said I also need a new exhaust pipe-related part. That is something my mechanic hadn't even mentioned & Midas wouldn't weld my exhaust pipe back on without the part changed. There goes a 1000$. After my radiator change, the "Check Engine" light came on and I had them erase it. When I asked the guy what was wrong, he was mumbling random stuff and I asked him if it was my o2 sensor and he said yes. My mistake was that I didn't ask him for the error code on the spot. On the way home, my car starts to idle rough. I thought I'd give it some time in case the radiator needed to settle in or something (I am an automobile illiterate). A couple days go by and car still idled rough and the "Check Engine" light came back on. I checked it out at home and the problem was related to the Idle Air-Control valve. Now, I needed to have that looked at as well as looseness with my left tyre. Again, I had to go to Midas because 1. They changed the radiator & 2. They're open on weekends. With the post-radiator change problem, they said all's good but the problem is with my AC compressor unit (500$ to get that looked at). As for my wheel-related issue, apparently, it was 2 issues at the same time. Front shocks + wheel bearing + wheel alignment. That's around 1200$. During this session, the guy at the counter said the employees get paid for pointing out problems. The problem with the rough idle still went on and I still have it. Almost 2 months later, after I got enough time to visit my mechanic on a weekday, he was able to detect the rough-idle issue right away. He cleaned my IAC valve which is the 1st step to be done to determine whether carbon build-up is the issue or if there's an actual leak in the system. I know that after doing some of my own research. After that, he told me of a leak in the IAC system. Again, folks on the internet suggest that leaks in the IAC system can cause a car to idle roughly. After that, it got me thinking... did I really need the shocks changed or would the wheel bearing have been enough? My car never did act like it was hydroplaning. It was only the left wheel that would feel loose over the smallest of bumps. It didn't feel like a shocks-related issue. My car didn't even nosedive upon slamming the breaks. Also, did they purposely sabotage my car while test-driving or while working on it so they can pull me in over and over and over again? I will never trust Midas with my car again. They are shameless liars & thieves, and lack the spine to own up to their work. If you give your car to them, be sure to plant hidden cameras on your vehicle and ask that you go on the test drive too because they will tell you there IS a problem even if there isn't. read more

I'm at Midas by 32nd ave ne Calgary... Bob who is the senior manager is superbly awesome. Though I waited for a bit with appt. Its all worth it coz he chatted with me and the time just went by really quick. I would highly recommend this shop now i waited since they dont have the filter and they got it done so fast he is so nice....look for him. Very awesome service it was my first time. Being first time with a new car, the engine light came on. And he didn't charged me they just re-scan it and lights off! He explained it to me really nicely why the check engine light is on...maybe because of cold weather we had -28c at one point. Then he told me if the lights come on again then I have to come back again....then. He doesn't believe in asking people to spend money if they don't have to..its really a bonus...appointment is recommended...there are lots of stuff around like memory express, a strip mall... Absolutely go and check it out, they got oil change, tires, anything except body works...just give em a call and see if they do it...thank u midas by 32nd ave...a hidden gem in the n.e. area! The truck needed an oil change and I was feeling lazy so decided to check out Midas on 32nd Street. While not terribly quick (they took over an hour & a half) they were exceptionally friendly (in particular Sam the Asst Manager) and completed the job as promised & at the price quoted. read more

I was always under the impression that if the techs found something wrong with your car they would then say something. If they found something they were unsure of, that they would communicate with you. Apparently not here. Yes a slip of paper is given to you, but any reputable shop I know of will always verbalize what is found as well. The service is crazy slow and my car smelled terrible after coming out of the shop. I didn't appreciate the shop cutting corners with my car either, checking only one or two of my tires. Makes me wonder what else this shop cuts corners on. Will not be returning. read more

Had an appointment to get my oil changed yesterday at 11am. Bob said it would take about an 1.5 hours cause they were really backed up, I told him thats fine and I was going to go check out the stores behind the building while I waited. I headed back to the shop at 1, thinking that was plenty of time given. Only to find out that, not only had they not even touched my vehicle yet, but all the mechanics had left for lunch. Bob apologized and said he could do it another day for free if I wanted to come back. Which I would have accepted had this not been the 3rd time at this location something similiar had happened. The first time I brought my 2 year old with me to my 9am appointment and my vehicle wasnt done till 4! For a oil change! And the second time I also brought my son and we waited 5 hours and I complained so Bob gave it to me for free. I have been going to this location since I got my license so about 7 years! But the service just keeps getting worse and worse, offering the service for free only works so many times! Now im stuck frantically calling places in hopes that someone can squeeze me in before friday when I leave for my roadtrip, I dont know why I continued to return, Bob is an extremely nice guy, but the service there is absolutely terrible. I will not return there ever. Such a waste of my time, and patience. I hope someone from head office sees this, and invests in training these people better time management! You have lost a very loyal customer. read more
