Tony is the best mechanic I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Not only is he tremendously knowledgeable about Honda S2000s, but he is also a meticulous yet quick worker. He does not charge you an arm and a leg, and his pricing is incredibly transparent. He is truly someone whom I trust. I trust that he will recommend what is best for my vehicle, but I also trust him to get the work done properly. I have taken my Honda S2000 to him about three times now for maintenance and modifications, and never once have I had a problem. He made the car feel as close to factory as a 20-year-old car can. Lastly, and maybe most importantly, he's a stand-up guy and good communicator. He has always been willing to work around my busy schedule, and he always responds promptly when I reach out. I don't know what else to say, other than the fact that I drive all the way from South Pasadena to Winnetka just so Tony can work on my car, and I'd drive from further if I had to. I never had such awesome experience with mechanic that actually appreciate your car and will take care of it like his own. Everything about the experience was superb. His pricing is very good as well. He will take pix of every part he is replacing or needs to be replaced to assure you good job is being done. Usually I'm super anal with my car, but as soon as I met tony I had complete trust in him. Just had full servicing done on 03 ap1 I bought a week ago and this thing drives awesome now. Had a very rough and busy week trying to tend to my mom in the hospital when my alternator decided to contribute to the chaos. Tony saved the day and made a potentially huge obstacle go away. Instead of an interminable wait, I was able to bring it in at 9am and it was ready to go by noon. I don't know if there's another mechanic I could have gone to who could have done that for me today. I'm copying my review from Google Reviews. I finally got a chance to buy an S2000 about six years ago. This car was my dream car when I was a kid after seeing the movie Heartbreakers with Jennifer Love Hewitt and Sigourney Weaver. To say I love this car is an understatement. It's my daily driver, has almost 122k miles, and always put a smile on my face when I drive it, and I was driving 12k miles/year at my peak.   I digress. When I got my S2000, I bought it from the original owner who had kept all the service records. Because she wasn't a gearhead, the car was maintained but not like it should have been. As a result, though it was running decently, the car wasn't running 100% healthy. I took my car to Tony about a year ago to get an oil change after having used my personal mechanicfor the last 5 years, and this man had the audacity to list out all the problems with my car: low compression in cylinder 3; bad driver-side rear wheel bearing; rusted radiator; worn clutch (if you see your clutch is really firm and your master clutch cylinder leaking, that's a sign your clutch is going out--I learned you should be able to push your clutch in with a finger and no effort); among a slew of other issues. After coming to terms that these repairs were inevitable, I took my car into Tony for that beautiful, expensive service that I was dreading.   Tony is an honest mechanic. I know a lot about cars as I've worked on cars myself, and I've had mechanics I've loved and those I've disliked, and I can confidently say Tony is one of the best. First, the guy doesn't take tips which ordinarily doesn't matter, but it's bad when the man does so much work for free that he should ordinarily charge for but doesn't as it's part of the job. For instance, he coated my brake calipers with a clearcoat, so they don't rust, and he brushed the hubs of rust before mounting the new brake discs. These are things the typical mechanics don't do because they only go through the motions. Tony does it all with a smile on his face.   I got my car back yesterday and I cannot even describe what it's like to drive. It's like a whole new car. With the ACT flywheel, this car drops revs like a monster, and I suddenly have to slam into gear just to keep up with the tach. The power delivery is buttery smooth after fixing the compression leak. My car actually feels quicker, just like Tony said, which is crazy to me after I felt like the car was running so well for so long. The clutch is smooth, and my car starts right up without so much of a hiccup after 6 years of iffy starts and grinding my starter based on the ambient temperature.   I cannot recommend Tony enough if you have a Honda, and especially if you have an S2K or NSX. This review of Mid Valley is long overdue. Tony has worked on my S2000 for the last few years, and he is the only mechanic I trust to work on my car. He's done pretty much everything including valve adjustments, clutch replacement, engine mounts and brakes. The quality of work is excellent. Tony has great attention to detail, especially compared to some of the more prolific S2000 shops in Southern California. Other places usually forget small requests or watch-outs. Tony is also great about making recommendations, but ultimately respecting what you want to do as the owner. Only con is there used to be a really good empanada place next door, but they're gone now. Other than that, I'd recommend Mid Valley for any Honda enthusiast looking for quality work. read more

First want to say, customer service, communication, and price is top notch! Quality of work is impeccable. I took my 07 s2000 for clutch work. I spoke with Tony who gave me reasonable prices for clutch replacement. Decided to go with OEM clutch with upgraded ACT lightened flywheel. Left the keys with Tony and was on my way. Later he called to find several things wrong with the car, one of which is broken motor mounts, a broken intake hose, leaking vtec solenoid. He also recommended a valve adjustment (160k miles) He also sent me pictures of the damaged mounts and other parts. He also gave accurate completion times and progress. Tony is a cool guy and honest mechanic. I highly recommend him and I will definitely come back for other automotive work beyond my capabilities as an amateur mechanic. read more

I have found my new mechanic! You know it's a good sign when the shop has S2000s, NSXs and Integra Type Rs. These are high RPM engines and specialized vehicles that owners would only trust the best mechanics with. While those are my dream cars, I have a much lesser TSX that had the dreaded check engine light come on. My Acura stealership charged $105 to simply hook up an OBDII scanner and diagnose a new catalytic convertor (most places will do that for free.) Adding insult to injury was the $2.5k repair charge. I read the good reviews on Tony and his shop and decided to try him out. I couldn't be more pleased. He fixed my car for literally a fraction of the cost with a CARB certified cat that actually exceeds the warranty of an OEM part. Update 2016-May Regarding Mr. Eric rantings, I happened to be in the shop over two days....and saw the effort that was put into getting those bushings out. I am sure he could have taken it someplace where they would have beat the Snot out of it, bent and or cracked the lca. So maybe in the future you will Service those bushings at proper times, the maybe you won't be so upset.
