I HAD gone through so many mechanics that charged me for work not done-told me the parts were new and were not-used my car for personal use. I always wrote down the mileage before I left and took picture of gas-kept my car for way beyond time I was told-twice w/ different shops had it for 3 weeks or charged after the work was done without informing what the car needed. So sick and disgusted until I found Henry who owns and runs LA AUTO. I've now been going there for about 5 years. Everytime I have been there...EVERYTIME I meet a client who tells me they have been going to Henry at LA Auto for the last 30 to 35 years. He and his staff are personable excellent mechanics not salesmen but honest hard working crew! His prices are fair and the going rate. He goes by the book when it comes to this. I took a car for them to check out that I wanted to purchase. it's been a dream and I have LA Auto to thank for giving me the green light to purchase it. I'll never ever go anywhere else. You won't be disappointed! JB read more

I like to get them a 4.5. Pricing is typical but expected especially in today's world. They work fast reliable and completely trustworthy. That's worth a lot right there, if their pricing was maybe 10% better they'd get five stars for me no problem. Andy read more

I was referred to them by a friend. She had nothing but great things to say. I took my vehicle to them and I am happy to report I agree with all her enthusiasm. My experience with them is that you can trust: 1) What they say is wrong with your car. 2) They don't invent problems that don't exist. 3) What they say needs to be done. 4) If they say there are other issues, believe them. They are busy enough, they don't need to make stuff up...and they wouldn't. 5) Their price quotes. I've shopped around & they were hands down the best. 6) What they fix, is fixed. I've referred lots of people to them, including family. I trust them implicitly. So can you. read more

the man I spoke to was very helpful and kind. He squeezed in my brake replacement super fast since I didn't have a lot of time! I will be going back for other repairs later on. read more

I absolutely love Henry and the crew! They have been taking care of my car needs for 4 years now! They are honest and they do an excellent job! They are upfront with what needs to be done first or if it is a job that they cannot do. They have told me the truth when dealerships and other places have tried to rob me! Everyone is friendly and the prices are more than fair! I send everyone I know to Henry! Thank you for being an honest business that cares about its customers! read more

We've been going here for years and they have always been honest, straightforward and communicative with us. I always feel like we know why the charge is the amount it is and they help us prioritize repairs to make good choices. Never pushy, always happy to see us even though we are always bringing in problems! read more

We all need an honest mechanic. These guys are the best and my go to now. Best shop for all your repair needs.

Best mechanics in the valley. My family has been going to Henry's place for over 10 years. Trustworthy, fair, and professional.

Well, what can I say ... these guys stole my watch from my car. They did the work I hired them to do, but not without rummaging through all of my personal items and STEALING a beautiful gold watch that my father had given me as a gift. Normally, I always grab all of my items before getting my car worked on but I was distracted by phone calls and making another appointment on time. Unfortunately, this was a terrible mistake as I put my trust in the wrong people. Once I had noticed my watch was missing, I went back first thing the following morning to talk to the manager. The second I pulled into the parking lot, all of the employees stopped what they were doing and stared at me. I could see it in their faces that they knew what I was coming back for. Upon confrontation, the owner denied that he would ever have something like this happen and that customers often leave "thousands of dollars" in their vehicles and have never had an issue. I call BS. The owner was definitely in on the whole operation and I have a feeling this isn't the first time they've RIPPED OFF THEIR OWN CUSTOMERS. Long story short, I may never see this watch again but at least I can warn all of you to BE CAREFUL with these people. They aren't as trusting as they come off to be and made absolutely ZERO effort to address the issue of my stolen items. If I was you, I would get my car worked on at one of the many other shops in the city. read more

I've taken all of my cars here. Honest and reliable. They never nickel and dime you by any means.

Henry and his crew are amazing! We have been taking our cars in for repairs and oil changes at LA's Auto Repair for years and he is the BEST! My grandpa, mom, brothers and husband and I all go to him...that just goes to show you how long we've trusted him with our cars! We will never go to another mechanic for as long as he's around! He always fixes our cars - they are honest, trustworthy, communicate well, and their work ethic goes above and beyond! Thanks Henry + crew/staff! read more

I've been using LA's Auto Repair for several years, and I plan to for many years to come. I'm always satisfied with the work. The repair prices are always fair. I've never had to bring the car back in after a repair. The most important thing for me is trust. I trust Henry, Beto, Leo, and Nils to always take good care of my old car, and ME! They treat me and my '98 Toyota as if I was a VIP and I had a 2019 Whatever! Thanks LA's Auto, this review is long overdue. read more

It has taken me a long time to do this review, in apart, because of the quality of work that I received from the owners of this shop. However, I must warn anyone who decides to take their car to their shop - you MUST remove anything that is valuable from your car prior to taking your car to their shop. I put my iPod in my glove compartment and forgot to take it out before leaving my car with them overnight. I didn't really think about the iPod until an hour after I picked up the car the next day. When I looked inside the glove compartment, it was GONE! I called the shop asking if anyone has seen an iPod and I was told that no one there has seen an iPod anywhere. I read 2 reviews from 2015 and 2018 that mentioned about items that have gone missing when they took their car to their shop, but I just dismissed them. However, I always had it in the back of my mind to never leave anything that people might find tempting. I was distracted that day because I didn't realize that I needed to leave my car overnight for them to diagnose the issue. In the end, they were not able to fix the problem and I lost an iPod that was a gift to me. Needless to say, I will never go back to their shop and will forewarn others to be mindful of their stuff when they go to their shop. read more

I have been going to LA'S Auto for at least 15 years. My friend told me about how amazing her mechanic was. She was telling me about how they had fixed up her supper old car and how low the cost was. When I first came to LA's Auto, I price shopped. Got quotes from from Henry, then got quotes from many other places. Everytime LA's Auto was the best price. I saved hundreds of dollars when I had them change my timing belt. They are always true to the time. If something comes up that we did not discuss. They call me and let me know. At this point, I tell them to please fix whatever they see that needs it! Usually if it is a small thing, they fix it. A big thing, ( they call me). Years of knowing I am taking complete care of my car. While feeling secure in the price and quality, is priceless. read more

What can I say about Henry he is a very honest mechanic. He helps me pass my smog check every two years and this year he even took it to the smog check and had it done for me that is something special. As a grandma on a budget all I can say is God bless you always . And thank you again. Just want to thank you Henry and your staff. I've been going to him for a couple years now and will continue. read more

My parents live nearby and go to Henry for all their car problems. All their friends go to him, too. This is the only place in the area that I have been recommended, and very strongly. My parents and their friends aren't very Yelp savy, hence limited reviews. When my car was acting up while visiting my parents, my mother was adamant, "Don't go to anyone else. He's the best." So I did. And really it's a great shop. They are respectful, helpful, informative. He pointed out that the problem wasn't as serious as we thought and charged a really low fee. Car is running great. Highly recommend this auto shop if you're in the area. read more

I am new to Southern California and took my car to a dealership to get repairs so I could pass the smog check. The dealership inspected the car and told me I needed 3 new sensors in the emissions system at the cost of about $1100. Plus, my rear brake cylinders were leaking and that would cost me $502. I didn't want to spend that much money so got a referral from a local businessman who recommended LA's Auto Repair. He told me he'd been taking his cars to Henry for 11 years and had always gotten good service at a great price. I reviewed the Yelp reviews and went to Henry. He replaced the 3 sensors and the brake cylinders for $592 total. I then passed the smog check. I would recommend Henry to anyone. read more

Where do I begin!!! About a year ago I had an issue with my car. I was busy with 2 jobs so I had my brother take it to a local mechanic. They charged me 80 dollars for an engine diagnostic and quoted me 1000 dollars to fix the issue with my thermostat housing. That was too steep so Luckily I asked my brother in law for a reference. He referred me to LA auto repair.. I can't remember if Henry charged me for the engine diagnostic or not but he not only found an issue with my thermostat housing but also an issue with my water pumped. He replaced the thermostat housing and fixed the pump for about half of what the other mechanic quoted me. Not one problem since then!! Always come here for my oil changes and charges half of the jiffy lube charges. He does this in the hopes that you stay with him for future issues. Most HONEST mechanic i have ever met!!!!! He has a customer for life. read more

I wish I had more time to write a longer review, suffice it to say that Henry is honest, knowledgeable, friendly, and reasonable. He will never do work that is not necessary. My son discovered LA's Auto repair, and the whole family has been taking our vehicles to Henry. I say vehicles because he has worked on my motorhome and has done regular maintenance on my son's boat. I had an issue with the cruise control on my Lincoln and Henry recommended that I take it to the dealer. When it's not his cup of tea, he will tell you, never mislead you. read more

While I think very positively of Henry and his work, Is $145 reasonable for rear brakes on a 2000 Ford? Pads were less than $25, rest is labor for putting pads on. Says all rotors will need some resurfacing. I think this is pretty high. What do think? I still give high review as I will have the next job be the deciding factor. I needed front brakes as well, and I had some time. In one evening of online shopping, and a couple hours, I installed new rotors and new pads for the front. I jacked it up, placed on stands and within an 1-2 hours(I took my time and followed steps, quick bite in between), I had it done. Pads and rotors total cost $110 for the front left and right. I got Wagner lifetime guarantee parts to avoid any anomalies. Would have been faster if the rotors came off easy. No such luck. Cost savings is huge, but nothing compared to the satisfaction of knowing I did the work myself. Feels good to get your hands dirty once in a while( I wore gloves), you know what I mean. read more

I can't recommend Leo and LA's Auto Repair enough. They are always friendly, welcoming and helpful and deliver fast, efficient service that won't break the bank. LA Auto Repair has been taking care of 'my baby' for years now. Friends recommended him, the best advertisement "word of mouth" Love Henry, he even knows my car name. The crew is great. And congratulations of the new place, 10121 Canoga Ave. #D Chatsworth read more

Finding a new mechanic is sort of like finding a new doctor or a new vet with all the apprehension implied by that. LA's Auto Repair may not look impressive from the outside, but their service was solid, their estimates reasonable, the work came in on time, underestimate, and I have had no follow-up issues. I can't believe that this establishment had been around for 15 years and had serviced hundreds of Angelinos with efficiency and quality and still nobody had stepped up to give this shop it's well deserved rating?!? ...Well, I guess my busted fuel pump was a blessing in disguised. These guys (esp Henry) are legit! They even went an extra mile to fix the noise I was hearing from the front of my car by adjusting some panels and replacing some missing clips, and they did not charge me or make me feel incline to pay extra for the additional service! I might become a regular here and update my rating to 5 star if I see consistency. Well see. read more

PEOPLE BE AWARE!!!THERE IS A THIEF IT THAT SHOP!!! My husband took our motorhome to get fix and We were very disappointed when he said that he couldn't work on it after he had it on his shop for over a week, due to some type of inspection. Anyway long story short when my husband brought the motorhome back he find out our Xbox missing and so the search started we come to find out someone in the shop went trough our personal stuff ssn passports and all documents we had in the back were they had no business looking, they also took my laptop with all my information in it. Yes it was our fault for trusting on ppl. So my husband called Hanrry "Beto" to ask about it and he said that well that's our problem not his! Now I'm not blaming him but someone somehow in his shop went and had all the time to go trough my PERSONAL stuff that is more valuable than the material ones, but couldn't fix a simple lick the motorhome had!! Needless to say I'm beyond pissed. So people be aware! read more

I love Henry! He's the best! He knows what he is doing and is honest to the core. He is more that fair with pricing. He will not rip you off with labor fees or adding services that you don't need. It only took one visit over a year ago to make him my lifelong mechanic. I wish I found him sooner. I was quoted $1300 in repairs by Sear Auto; Henry took care of it for under $400. Under $400!!!! Amazing. I love this man. I wish he did everything under his roof (oil change, alignment, smog) as I hate letting anyone else touch my car. I only trust Henry and his team. My husband had been taking his vehicle to this place for years (at their old location, even years before we met and married). My whole family comes here Henry an his crew are honest very accurate amazing He stands by his work.

The best shop in the valley by far. I've been going to Henry (the owner) since I was 18 years old (now 27). Not only does his shop provide exceptional work but they are the most trustworthy and honest people in the industry !! Many years ago, when I first started collage, my car broke down in the morning on my way to a final exam. After towing my car to his shop and getting the vehicle safely squared away for the repairs, the owner kindly asked me if he could give me a ride to work/home etc. I told him that it was alright, I would just wait while the car was worked on but that I was upset about missing my final. To this he responded that's not only would he drive me to school but when I was finished to call and someone from the shop would be along shortly to pick me up. I made it to my final and my car repair was done within the day. This is why my family and I will never take our cars anywhere else !! Sidebar: his prices are so reasonable that I was about to afford the repairs even on a college students budget !! read more
