I was looking for a contractor to fix our broken oven knob. I put out a request for a quote on Yelp and Shawn from Mid-Eastern Appliance was the first person to respond. Not only that he also answered all my annoying questions. The quote was so reasonable. Only $32 to replace the knob and $18 to install. All other places wanted to come out and give an estimate in which I'm sure would have been much higher. Shawn was quick and ordered the part and came out the following week. He called and came out and met my wife who was home and I was told he was a super nice guy. He also answered more questions from my wife about our stove and gave advice. Shawn was really nice, but ultimately wildly unhelpful. He's been out 3 times to fix my dishwasher. He replaced multiple and it still doesn't drain. Now my home warranty will no longer honor service on this issue because he submitted a report that there was no mechanical problem despite the fact that it STILL doesn't drain. Not only has he not solved my issue, he's also now going to end up costing my 100s of dollars since I'm going to have to pay out of pocket to have someone else come deal with it. Shawn was great! We had to go through our home warranty, Old Republic, because our dish washer was leaking. We had some difficulties with other appliance services in the area, where they wouldn't return our calls or come out- but Shawn was responsive and set up an appointment right away with us! He came Monday morning, examined the issue, and came back that afternoon to fix it! He was thorough in his assessment and we really appreciated him fixing the issue all in one day. Terrible service. We contracted through a home warranty service and Mid Eastern was the designated provider. They didn't return our calls, kept delaying when they would come, and then showed up and didn't fix anything and we haven't heard back in 2 weeks after repeated calls. We had to keep calling them and calling them to show up in the first place, and once they did we got nothing out of it. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL. read more

I described the problem to him over the phone and he said I needed a new part, but that the part was back ordered and that he would order it for me. He said it would be over a month til it arrived, and that he would call me. Two months later, my dishwasher is still broken and he hasn't returned my four voicemails. Our warranty company sent another company out to fix our dryer (wasn't heating). After two visits, we were no better off. When I requested a different vendor, the warranty company sent Shawn with Mid-Eastern. And wow, was I impressed with the difference. Shawn took the whole dryer apart and probed with tools (the other company didn't use a meter at all) to figure out the problem. I asked about vacuuming out the inside while it was open, he said "go ahead, take your time". Shawn was very polite, personable, but most importantly, very knowledgable. He determined the issue, had the replacement part ON HIS TRUCK ALREADY (which was fantastic) and the dryer now works find WITH ONLY ONE VISIT. I cannot say enough good things about Shawn. read more

This guy is AWFUL and a complete fraud. Pursuant to a service contract, this guy showed up to repair a range down-draft. In dismantling the appliance, he bent and dented the trim. He also removed the on/off switch. He left and indicated he had to order parts and would return once he had the parts in stock. Haven't had any issues compared to everyone else. HMS warranty suggested his company, yet Shawn has a different number than listed, and same business name- same guy? Nonetheless oven repair done in two days. Element replaced yesterday, 30min job maybe, and came out Thursday to verify I had sent him the right model and serial number to expedite the repair. He even worked with my schedule and was available in the 4-5p range big days. I would use him again and would hope that this is a new Shawn or a new him or just fluke issues with the other complaints that didn't get resolved properly with Parts or maybe more to the details on the warranty side. -if I can edit review I'll update in a few days after its use. Said there was a 6month/180day warranty on the repair and anything linked to it if another issue arose. read more

Sean is the owner of Mid-Eastern Appliance Services and he's a FRAUD! Don't use this guy. I have Old Republic Home Protection Insurance. I reported a problem with my stove and Old Republic sent Sean. He charged me $100 for parts I didn't need and labor that didn't fix the problem. I also didn't receive a receipt or bill for services, and he didn't respond to my phone calls. Fortunately I paid with a credit card so I contested the bill and had the money refunded. read more
