My vehicle was there for over 4 months with very poor communication from shop manager and owner. I…read morewas told several times it was almost ready or it would be ready on a certain day only to hear nothing back on said day. Finally got the truck back only for it to break down not even an hour later. We had to call to get it towed back to the shop. The mechanic admittedly didn't tighten the distributor cap, which lead to the timing being messed up. Also, the fuel line was installed twisted and wouldn't allow gas to flow properly. These things were fixed after 2 weeks of the truck sitting at the shop. We've had the truck back about 2 weeks and now the fuel pump went out. The new fuel pump that they just installed!!!! The manager also admitted to one of his mechanics burning up the first distributor, this was his excuse for it taking so long in the first place. $4,000 later and the truck is not running. I would not recommend this place at all!!

Called Allstate to cancel my request and then another 30 min later I get a call from tow truck driver saying he is on the way to get me and will be there in 20 min. Guy sounded drunk and stoned on phone. Told him I canceled said thanks and hung up phone. Worthless Tow company. Any review over 1 is made up to make them look good. I was unfortunate to lose the air conditioner in my Truck while traveling through Houston with a 40 foot trailer accompanied by my wife and two small boys. I checked into an RV park near Oak Ridge Car Clinic's location and the were recommended by my neighbor in the park. I am on deadline to travel to Amarillo, and needed my truck fixed ASAP. I called them on a Friday and said I needed to be back on the road Tuesday, could they help. I spoke with the Father who told me to come for a diagnosis. He said I needed a new compressor and belt, they were shot. He said if he could get the parts he could get it done on Monday. He claimed that he spent Friday afternoon and Saturday morning searching for the parts and they simply weren't available in Houston. He said a friend of his that works for Ford told him that in a dire emergency they would come up with the parts to get the job done. I went to Ford on Saturday, and they told me they didn't have a service slot available until Wednesday or Thursday but they would be glad to sell me the parts. They had two in stock. So I bought the parts. I called Oak Ridge Car Clinic Monday morning, and the son answered. Said his Dad was on vacation for a week, he was all alone and had 4 cars in front of me before he could work on my truck. Then he got nasty. He said it was first come first served, and he couldn't promise me anything about getting the job done by my deadline. I asked why his dad told me that he could do it if he could get the parts, and he said, "well he knew he couldn't get the parts." So he was stringing me along and had no intention of taking the job and didn't want to tell me that. I called their competitor, next door, and they said come on over, we'll take care of you. This was a very bad business practice.

We made conversation and it was definitely a local friendly neighborhood vibe. Yousef and his team fixed my issue in about 30 minutes. When I first saw my car, all I could say was "WOW!". I was in shock at the transformation. At first I couldn't tell which side had had the issue; it truly looked like it was fresh off of the dealer's lot! I really like the fact that they didn't try to sell me any other services. I unknowingly had a nail in my tire but did not have the lock key to replace the tire. They checked the tire psi and added more air to my low tire and offered to patch it for me when I found my tire lock key. The price is right with Houston Auto Tech. Granted, there are worse places my car could have gotten towed after the unfortunate incident...but…read morereally, all places are going to be bad. The lucky tow truck vulture who had the distinct honor of towing MY car, and driving me where ever I wanted to go (I could have shown up at an OYE via tow truck), worked for this place. The driver was a nice guy. Everyone else was an exceptionally well-cast player in "Gretchen's day at the tow yard." First, the office manager. She's on top of everything, but she's curt. She had the unfortunate task of telling me that I had to drive outside of the loop to sign a waiver so that Progressive could tow my car to my desired mechanic. I agree that I should have to sign for my car to be released, but I'm still curious why that couldn't be handled by the gas and time saving device called a fax machine. Second, the random guy. Not exactly certain what he does, but while I was there he had an interesting side bar scene. He spoke with someone over the phone who wanted to talk to "the manager." This guy put the caller on hold, screamed into the owner's office, then transferred the call. Not a pleasant transfer on the muted side of the phone call. Also, I just want you to know that if the conversation escalates to "speaking to the supervisor," you ARE going to be talking to the owner of a tow lot. Meaning, a. you are always going to need to "speak with the owner," because the operation is always going to be a bit fishy and b. you don't want to talk to a cheesy person who runs a slightly fishy operation. Finally, the owner. I was handed his business card by my tow truck guy. It was glossy and black with gold lettering. I rolled my eyes. Once I finally made it all the way out there, and he found out my plan, he tried to put cracks in that plan. The whole, "Oh, you got this from the dealership and you're taking it back there? That's fine, but..." And, "No, you keep your car here. Our mechanics are better than those guys." By the end, he was almost begging me to keep the car there. Unflattering. "But why do you want to take it there? Why?" He actually seemed a little disconcerted at this point, because that is when started to ignore him. (Actually, I did stop myself from saying, "Because I said so.") He seemed a bit off his game; it could have been the 100+ temps. I suggest if you do get in a wreck, do it during this heat wave. You'll be better off for it. A few tips: there are cop cars everywhere out here. Drive the speed limit. If you get to the mechanic shop that resembles an old brick 1970s office strip, you've gone too far. There are quite a few taco stands that have been reviewed by Yelp in the area; you should venture into this area hungry.
