I had a very bad experience at First Lady Nail Salon ~ when I arrived and told them what I wanted a French Manicure & Pedicure showed them a picture and they said they could oblige and what the cost would be. I was sat immediately & my technician Tin did his best to accommodate me as well as listen to what I wanted & repaired the damage that First Lady didn't do. I shared my experience and what I didn't want a repeat of. He obliged all of my requests and repeatedly asked if that was to my liking if I wanted something changed or addressed he did it with grunting or acting as though I was inconvenienced him as a customer. He did a great job in my manicure & pedicure and I will return and shared with the manager my wonderful experience. I was more than happy to leave a tip and great customer service. Had an appointment for a spa pedicure with gel and gel manicure. Was taken closer to my appointed time and was overall satisfied with the pedicure. Not happy at all with the gel manicure. 7 out of my 10 nails are not smooth, having either ridges or bumps. And, no matter how many times I stressed I wanted square tips with rounded edges, not one nail is squared and tips of nails were not polished. I will never go back to this salon. read more

Not only did I have to wait for an appointment I made, but my service was tragic. The water was so hot I swore my feet were going to sizzle off. Then, the man that did my toes was so aggressive. He scrubbed for way too long, and way too hard! He rushed through my entire pedicure, and quite honestly wasn't paying attention. When finished, my toes were thick and gloppy. This is my new go-to salon. I live within walking distance of six salons, but I now drive miles out of my way for Mid City Nails. I 100% recommend this salon to anyone who likes a to get a no nonsense pedicure that LASTS, and who prefers a comfortable atmosphere and cheap prices. I brought my daughter in two weeks ago and we had the best pedicures of our lives. No exaggeration! This place is serious about their customers. Tina worked on my feet while Mindy worked on my daughter's beside me. Both laughed and talked to us, each other, and other workers. We felt like we were in a friendly neighborhood bar. We were included in the joking instead of made to feel like we were the brunt of a joke, which sometimes happens in salons when you cannot understand what is being said. The place was hopping with customers and workers and we had very little wait. It's the only fully staffed nail salon that I've seen since Covid, and all the workers seemed to enjoy being there. My feet are very dry and sometimes, because it takes more time for my feet, I notice that I don't get all the care/treatment that my daughter does because steps are skipped on me to make up lost time. Tina made SURE that this didn't happen to me. I enjoyed the full spa treatment with my pedicure. And the PRICE was so REASONABLE!!! Much cheaper than the salons near me! The worst manicure I've ever had in my entire life. I went in wanting a basic French manicure. The nail tech took a total of 10 monitors to complete my manicure. No filing. No cuticle cutting. No massage. Additionally, nothing including the techs hands/work space had been cleaned or wiped down. When I asked for regular polish (gel disturbes my nails) I was scoffed at. The tech did the job of a 1st grader. I am not a confrontational person, so I left but I realized that I can't just say nothing when they're taking people's money. read more

Just Meh. Got a manicure w/ gel polish and standard Pedicure w/ normal polish (not gel) and it was $63. The girl who did mine either used to work in a pit crew for NASCAR or was trying to break a world record for the fastest mani/pedi on record. She had an attitude about something, or maybe she was just having a bad day, but she was rough and a little bullish; she'd pull my feet up, push them back in the water, grabbed my hands during the mani, twist and pull, yet when it was time for the massage, she barely used any pressure, half-as*ed it and didn't even bother to rub the lotion in. I asked for her name, but she ignored me. Probably didn't want it to end up in this review. At the end of the day, her polish work was decent, but given the cost and the attitude... I can't say I'd return. Not without trying every other place around here first. read more

I liked the way the girl did my nails however when I gave her cash to pay my bill she took it upon herself to keep a $7 tip without my ok and just handed me back my change. When confronted she admitted she had kept it as her tip. Since when does anyone get to decide what their tip will be at the customers expense! I will never go back for that very reason. This is my favorite place to get a mani pedi. Surprised? So was I. It's cheaper than American nails that is bigger, nicer looking, and right down the street. The people are nicer at midcity and for only five dollars more you can get a hot paraffin wax added to the pedicure. When at other places its crazy expensive. I just went here for the first time yesterday, even though I grew up in Louisville and used to bum around mid-city mall all the time. However, it's not so surprising because I didn't really develop a pedicure habit until I got a real job. It was completely adequate and pleasant: walk-in friendly, clean, friendly service. Sometimes I splurge for spa/deluxe pedis, but I took a chance and went for the standard one here. It was 25 bucks and included that wax-dippy thing and a pretty good exfoliation. My feet were pretty rough from wearing flip flops all summer with no pedicure. They are not like a baby's bottom, but a whole lot better. All-in-all, a good deal and a nice experience. (Let's face it, half the point of getting our nails did is just to read magazines in a massage chair anyway). This placed delivered. read more

S'alright. I went here to get my nails done while I was in town for the holidays -- I had a wedding to go to the following week, and I was indeed able to do a walk in. However, I was given a seat when there when it took a while for a technician to free up -- I would have rather that they'd been up front and not seat me until a technician was available. The work was okay, but the place just didn't feel very nice. However prices are fairly appropriate for what you get. Really great service and attention to detail. Got in fast even though the place was pretty full when I got there. $57 for a gel manicure and regular pedicure, can't beat the price for what you get! I've paid way more for just gel color and some buffing (no cuticles, massage, etc.) but here they did a warm oil treatment... really superb. Meh this place is okay. I went on a Sunday right as they were opening and it was surprisingly busy. I was seated right away, but the technician was working on my nails and the lady next to me at the same time which I thought was kind of weird. It took about an hour and half. I got shellac nails because I've had good experiences with them in the past. They had a pretty big selection of colors. I was kind of disappointed in the quality of the manicure because my nails chipped after a week and they're supposed to last two weeks minimum. The place is kind of run down and in need of a makeover, but the prices are pretty cheap so I was satisfied. read more

My mother in law who is exceptionally particular about well, everything likes this nail salon. That says something right there. That being said she typically goes during the daytime when most people are working so I'm sure that changes the experience some. My mom and I came in on a Wednesday evening at around 5 pm. I needed a spa pedicure and shellac manicure for my brother in laws wedding that coming Saturday and my mom joined me to relax from an already stressful week at work. There was no one waiting when we arrived which is usually a good sign. We selected our polish and were sent to the pedicure chairs. Almost right away a nail tech sat down to begin my moms pedi and she pointed out another girl telling me that she was cleaning up and would be right over to start on me. Great! I was enjoying the message chair and the warm water. In the mean time two other customers came in and were seated in the chairs near us to wait for a tech to start their pedicures. By this time my mom was already to the actual nail painting part of her pedi and no one had started mine. I was looking for the girl whom my moms tech had pointed out and it appeared she was heading my way finally. Then she sat down and began a pedi on one of the other customers that had come in after us. I was confused to say the least. I tried to get her attention but I don't think she heard me because I really didn't want to be rude and yell for her. So I waited. A few minutes later another tech did come to start my pedi which was good. She was very friendly and professional which I appreciated. I enjoyed the actual pedicure a lot especially the paraffin wax dip since not every salon does this. When it was time to head to her station to begin my manicure it was already 6:30. I figured I would be home by 6:30. I needed my nails done for the wedding so I stayed anyway but if there hadn't been a specific reason I needed them done I probably would have told them I had to leave. I figured since the shellac sets so quickly I wouldn't be there much longer anyway. My tech set me up with the heated mitts on my hands and said she would be right back. I then realized she was starting a manicure on another customer (who I believe was also a friend of hers) while my mitts were heating up. I wasn't particularly happy about that since she hadn't bothered to ask if I was in a hurry or if I minded if she worked someone in in between working on my nails. This definitely caused my manicure to take twice as long as it should have. It was now 7:30. My moms manicure had been finished for at least 45 minutes and we were both tired and ready to head home. My nail tech checked my toenails and told my they were dry then she checked my moms. They were still wet. WHAT????? Her pedicure had been finished for an hour and a half. I don't even understand how that's possible. Needless to say we then had to wait for her smudged toes to be fixed. By the time we left it was 5 till 8. We were there for three hours. Twice as long as I figured we should have been there. So why still three stars you ask? My nails look great. Maybe the best they have ever looked. I loved their massage chairs they worked properly and were not too aggressive but you could still feel the rollers. The place was clean, and the technicians really were friendly. Also the prices were great. My total for a spa pedi and shellac mani was 52 dollars. I have paid almost as much for just the spa pedi elsewhere. Over all this could have been a four possibly even five star review if it weren't for it taking THREE hours! read more

I've been getting my nails done at Mid City Nails for 5 years. A friend told me not to judge it by the interior and she was 100% right. At the time, the decor left a lot to be desired and was old and dated. They have since remodeled and it looks great! It's not as pretty as American Nails, but I will choose Mid City over them anyday! The nails techs are all friendly and they work fast! The prices are the best around! I got a shellac mani and a pedi with my mom on a Saturday morning in about 45 minutes for $60. Unbeatable! Steven did my nails and they look awesome! Lynn is the owner and she's great too. I've never had a bad experience here (vs. some places that are rough with the file and kinda rude). I notice him wasn't applying his self to my time on top of this ,my mother and granddaughter had there feet done and ,get this there use house space heaters yo fry or feet and the barely work . I have been going to this nails salon for over a year or so and I have never had a problem with the workers until today. I showed the lady who was doing my nails a picture that I wanted my nails to look like, she had to go ask her boss if it was okay to do and then she came back and said that she could only do the one design... WHY?! If I am paying for my nails to be done I want them done the way that I showed her. Also, I have never had a problem with the workers in there but the last two times I have been in there they have not been friendly and they seem to have an attitude with the customers. I didn't catch the woman's name who did my toes but she really took her time and made sure I was happy every step of the way. Basic pedicure included a parafin wax dip which most places charge extra for. And all for $25, again WOW! Super happy, can't say enough nice things about this place. Best nail salon in the Bardstown Rd area as far as I'm concerned. read more
