If you want good food, great beer, and relatively close to everything in Morzine, check out Bec…read moreJaune brewery. It is about 3 blocks from the Super Pleney lift and 2 blocks from the Super Morzine lift, which puts it in a great location to either lift. But mainly it was between our hotel and the Super Pleney lift which meant great beer after a long day of terrifying skiing that was much needed. The brewery is run by a guy from London who was at Camden brewery before deciding that he wanted to open up his own brewery. Since the brewer is from London, most of the beer are good, solid ales. They do go to the American side a bit by adding more hops (which I enjoy) but there beer is very good. The three nights we were in Morzine, we ate and drank at Bec Jaune every single night. This was a mix of ease of location, nothing bad there, and very well priced compared to other places around Morzine. They do not charge ski resort prices, which made us happy. Besides making great beer, their food menu isn't very extensive but tasty. We tried a Burrito Bowl - a large serving bowl with rice, black beans, avocados, sour cream, chicken, and salsa, burgers, large potato wedges, and their chili. After a long day of skiing and not much eating these healthy portions helped us get through the night. I do not feel bad for not giving any other places in Morzine a chance because Bec Jaune is a great brewery that serves good food. If you can find a spot to sit down then enjoy the time not being strapped to skis have a great pint. For more information and pictures check out our site : www.thegreatcubeescape.com

The pizza is unique, unfortunately I dont know enough to say which style of pizza it is closest to, but it is certainly lacks the characteristics of the Neapolitan style. The pizza is basically what Americans call "thin crust", but the dough is somewhere between "New York" style and Neapolitan. The quality and selection of toppings are very high. And given the nature of the cost of food in this town, this place is really quite reasonably priced. The beer was also very good. I had a "Belgian style" white, and they also had an excellent IPA. The food came out quickly and the staff were pleasant to interact with. I think that if I lived in Lausanne, I would return often. Im glad I tried this place out. FYI: There are two floors. The upstairs was closed when we came in at 3pm in the afternoon.

Pizzas are also unique and might be a little bit greasy, but they taste good! Atmosphere 5/5: Nothing to say about the atmosphere. You're in Brewery restaurant so the place is casual and friendly. Usually busy during the evenings on the 2nd floor on Fridays and Saturdays. Food 4/5: Food is good. Yes the Pizzas are a little bit greasy but they surely taste good! Definitely a good place to try a Beer and a Pizza with friends. Price are between 10 CHF to 20 CHF for a Pizza. I had a 4 Cheese Pizza. Service 3/5: Service might be a little bit slow but I usually take my pizza to go as well. Just call 15-20 minutes before and you can go pick it up. Parking might be a little bit hard to find as well despite the number of street parking. Overall, I would say it's a good place to chill with friends on a Friday evening.
