Came across this establishment on Saturday as we were driving between Glace Bay and New Waterford. I saw the sign advertising Hires Root Beer and couldn't resist pulling in to see if they actually had any. They don't. (Hires Root Beer is only sold in limited areas in the US, and is in competition with A&W Root Beer which comes from the same bottling plant...sad really) However, I went with a root beer float anyway (Dad's root beer, if I recall) and sat out on one of the park benches overlooking the water, enjoying the view. If you are looking for a place to grab a quick snack, this is definitely one to put on your list!

They ask lots of questions and helpful in every way. The store is really small and cramped when it gets busy. If eating in you'll have a lot of takeout order people standing around hovering over you. The food is just okay. Nothing great and not horrible. They use a good size and piece of fish and it was good just a little over cooked. The chicken has a lot of breading and is severely over cooked on many pieces. Any piece that wasn't overcooked tasted great. The breading has good flavor. The fries need SALT; add salt before eating.
