After being on sleeping pills for so long, I decided to try CBT and I will admit, I didn't think it would work on me since we all tend to think negatively from time to time. I chose Dr. Barth based on reviews and decided to make the 90 mile drive to Oakland. After my second visit, we continued to meet via FaceTime which was a PLUS! For me, my insomnia and depression improved after approximately 3-4 weeks after my initial session with Dr. Barth. Prior to meeting him, I had been weaning off Zolpidem for a week. I am now able to fall asleep fairly fast and stay asleep for most of the night, drug-free!!! In the past, I would try to wean off on my own, or not take my pills but I had no success. I would fall asleep around 0300AM and wake up before 0600AM. The first few weeks were tough since part of the "program" requires you to go to bed at a certain time (or try), and wake up at the same time every day. The $ I spent on my therapy is worth the results! I am now back to doing my daily activities and sleeping about 50% better. This is the first time I seek treatment with a Psychologist, but overall, my experience with him has been a positive one in many ways. My therapy is coming to an end soon, but I feel confident that I will continue to progress and apply what I have learned during this process. If you find yourself desperate, or to the point that you are ready to start therapy for depression, insomnia or other issues you may be facing, do it with someone who has years of experience. Before choosing Dr. Barth, I googled many therapists who specialized in CBT. I searched for 4 months. I live in Modesto which is a fairly large city, and many therapists are in my area, but based on reviews or first impressions I got visiting other websites/reviews I decided that if I was going to spend my time and money on therapy, I wanted to put my trust on the best one out there. Like most of us, I didn't have the extra money to be spending visiting therapists that I felt may not be the best fit for me. I mean no disrespect to any professionals in this area, but in the times we live now, most of our costly purchases or investments we make, are based on reputation or reviews.

The semi annoyed message from a male at 925-325-2744 said this was my 3rd and final call. This is a lie. I laughed so hard and had to replay the message multiple times. I have all calls back to June 2024 and voicemails back to December 2019 on my phone. This is the very first call. Now, I called more than a dozen times between November 16, 2024 and December 21, 2024....AND I followed up with an email letting them know that I was done reaching out and they needed to call me because I was requesting a new provider and a new sleep center. Which, I immediately did in January 2025 because this company was a joke. I tried to be give grace because of the holidays, but.....it's the middle of MAY! 176 days since the day I was referred is when they finally bothered to respond. I've have already seen a new sleep doctor AND already had my new sleep study. Six months is not an appropriate care time for a specialist. I was able to have my sleep study with 4 days of seeing the new specialist...FOUR days, but these folks think 6 months is acceptable to just start the process to schedule people. Not everyone knows the insurance process better than the people that used to actually do it for a living. I call BS. Don't do it. Don't even waste your time and ask your sleep doctor to go to a different facility not tied to JIVA or Dr. McDannald. Run from these providers.

The service was/is horrible. I would never use it again. They don't return calls they can't find…read morereferrals. It was a terrible experience.

From the very beginning, Angela brought a sense of calm, consistency, and routine into our lives that we desperately needed. She took the time to have a very thorough intake call to understand our twins, their habits, and our goals as parents. Based on that information, she quickly developed a personalized sleep plan tailored specifically to their needs. Her guidance was incredibly detailed, thoughtful, and easy to follow, and she equipped us with so many practical tools to confidently navigate the sleep training process. Within just 3-4 days, our twins had adjusted to the schedule and were sleeping consistently -- something that had felt impossible before working with Angela. What stood out most was how attentive and supportive she was throughout the process. She checked in with us daily, answered questions, and thoughtfully adjusted the plan based on how the twins were responding. Beyond helping us establish healthy sleep habits, Angela also created a long-term plan to guide us through 15 months, including schedule adjustments and even guidance around introducing and timing solids. Her expertise, responsiveness, and genuine care made such a huge difference for our family. We are incredibly grateful for Angela and cannot recommend her highly enough. Any family would be lucky to work with her.

We had tried a lot, but were also inundated with information and were having a hard time selecting and sticking to a program for fear of doing something wrong: should we keep feeding him as much as he wanted at night? Try to wean back? Work in shifts to cover the whole night in case we needed to rock him back to sleep? Were we bad parents because we were too afraid to co-sleep and also wanted to get our own rest at night? These and other issues were what we came to Angela about. At the time, the youngster was waking at least 3 times per night to feed from a bottle, and had begun waking even more often than that and needed our help to get back to sleep at night. Neither my wife or I were sleeping well, and it was impacting all aspects of our lives. Angela helped by developing a clear plan for us, showing us what we needed to do in each aspect of the day and night and why, and answering our questions as we went through the process. This was not at all easy, and any kind of sleep training is going to be just as much training the parents as it is the child. It was very hard for both of us, and our child is very persistent so it took some time. However, the results have been worth it. He is closing in on six months and sleeps through the night - from his 7pm bedtime until 6:30 or 7am. He does not need to eat overnight, and the times he does wake up overnight or too early, he puts himself back to sleep! Naps have also become much better, we are able to put him down for his nap and accomplish things while he falls and stays asleep. This was totally worth doing, and we were the type of people who needed a clear plan and some firm coaching. We got both from Angela, and are definitely grateful!

This momma was TIRED and needed time to get things done...or enjoy some time on the couch. I called Sleep Sisters and spoke with Melissa, I'm sure she heard desperation in my voice. It was my last resort (I'd read a few sleep books already), and she was so nice and helpful! She explained the science behind sleep and went over our current sleep schedule and routine. Melissa gave me a plan, complete with exact times and gave me some options as far as soothing my daughter. I loved that she left this part up to me to decide. She also helped me with starting to wean her, which I thought would be impossible. Turns out, it was pretty easy after all. Within a week, my baby started sleeping 12 hours a night (knock on wood) and will go down for naps with very brief crying. Sure, there are days that she will not nap - but she's still in her crib playing quietly. That NEVER happened before. I hope that in the next week, we will get her naps on par with our nights. But in the meantime? I'll enjoy it! Thank you so much Melissa. You saved me, seriously. I was beginning to wonder if I would ever consider a second child. There's now a glimmer of hope.

Very unprofessional and sketchy. Avoid. Sleep Quest is much better.
