Warning - Dimitriu Will Call the Cops on You!…read more I was sitting in my house not bothering anyone or making any threats. I was not committing any crimes. I was not in danger. I was not bothering anyone else. This "doctor," Alex Dimitriu, called me at home and told me he was incarcerating me in a locked facility. I tried to talk to him to see what the problem was and address any concerns he might have. He arrogantly just told me "I'm not going to argue with you." The law was on my side and civil rights exist. I politely told this person that he technically could not legally do this to me. His response was to threaten to call the cops on me, weaponizing his medical license and the racial dynamics of the situation. Interacting with Alex Dimitriu left me feeling like the most helpless victim. He forced himself on me through "medical treatment" - involuntary incarceration. He spit on my right to due process - the one guaranteed by the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. Alex Dimitriu treated me like three-fifths of a person. I have been diagnosed with PTSD as a result of Dimitriu's aggression. I have not felt safe since he ignored the law, stripped me of my rights, and traumatized me. The professional psychotherapist I consulted (who is licensed by the state of California) called Dimitriu's actions "a disgusting abuse of power." I suspect but can not prove that he tried to hide his actions and this review from you, the reader. I've had to rewrite it once. Stay safe - stay away from Dimitriu! - Former patient

(Thanks again for taking time out of the holiday weekend just to talk to me!) I was desperate on the evening of July 3rd with my four month old baby going through sleep regression. I found Caroline through Yelp by searching for baby sleep consultants. I scheduled a free consulting call for the next morning through her site. Unfortunately, our timing didn't work out so I didn't end up using her as my sleep consultant - but she was so warm, easy to talk to, and genuinely cared about my situation. We talked for a good 15-20 minutes and she gave me some insights/tips at absolutely no charge.! You kickstarted my sleep training process and I am so much better now.

I am a first-time mom, a former techie, older (42!) and single. Part of what I'm trying to communicate through that sentence is that I had extremely little experience caring for babies. What's more, I didn't really even know what I didn't know. That is, until I got to the hospital and had an emergency C-section for my two-weeks-past-due-date baby. The awesome part about getting a C-section is that you get four nights in the hospital. The best part about that is the team of nurses who are there to help you breast-feed your baby, soothe her, diaper her, swaddle her. Typically babies who are full-term, sleep pretty heavily the first couple of days. This can lull new parents into a false sense of security - "we got this!" Only to have the baby become fussy shortly after leaving the hospital (which is perfectly normal of course but part of what makes new parenting stressful)! Another benefit of C-sections is that you get to witness your baby after they've gone through this stage and are their fussy, wonderful selves! Newborn babies by and large fuss for at least an hour a day regardless of whether you are doing everything perfectly. Some babies fuss much more. Anyway, I had my daughter via emergency C-section on in early January 2016. On about day three or day four in the hospital, my daughter was fussing and fussing and nothing I was doing would soothe her. It was around then that I realized how little I knew about what I was doing. That's when I first reached out to Caroline who was - to my great good fortune - available. I hired her immediately, on the spot, after a brief phone conversation from my hospital bed. It was one of the best decisions I've made. Caroline is an expert in caring for newborns and brings a warm, soothing approach not only to your baby but to someone equally deserving of and needing such care and that is you. Because we had Caroline on our team, the first few months of my babies life or wonderful and incredible and emotional. They were not a nightmare, stressful or very anxiety-producing at all. Of course there were moments but far fewer of them and many more moments of joy because I had Caroline on my team. If you're thinking even a little bit of hiring her, do it. It will be one of the best things you've done for yourself and your new baby - providing support as you get to know one another.

When reading Yelp reviews about medical clinics, just know that there's always two sides to every…read morestory, and due to privacy laws the medical clinic can't refute any information, so take everything with a grain of salt. That said, I had a good experience at Stanford Sleep Clinic. There are a lot of people with sleep issues, and I count myself included. Due to demand and not enough staff, Stanford Sleep Clinic has been booking out several months and at times are even unable to schedule new patients until they hire more staff or patients who haven't been seen in 3 years are automatically removed as current established patients. So, if you need to be seen with urgency, then you should go to a private practice. My sleep problem is mild enough that there was no urgency, and I was lucky enough to eventually establish care with a provider who was in training, who assessed me before the more established provider evaluated me herself. I was referred to do a sleep study. My at-home one was deemed normal, but I was still mildly symptomatic, so after getting corrective surgery I wanted to see if an in-lab sleep study would provide more insight, since it measures a lot more things like your brain waves, mouth opening/closing, leg twitching, chest and abdomen rise + fall, etc. Several months and an approved prior authorization later, I checked in on a Sunday night at 8pm sharp at Pavilion B at the Redwood City campus. There is a huge well-lit parking lot & parking structure on campus that is free and monitored by security. Due to construction until late 2027 or so (they're building a new building next door for more doctor offices), they closed off the parking closest to Pavilion A+B. It was surreal to see the parking lot so empty! I parked next to Pavilion C+D. There is an indoor walkway connecting C to B, but the entrance to C was locked. Instead of me walking outside the long way, luckily security happened to me patrolling just down the hall and they spotted me and let me in. The Pavilion B lobby is so beautiful, like being at a hotel. On the 2nd floor, I checked in & 5 minutes later I was called back by the sleep technologist, who led me down halls to my room. There are 18 bedrooms, but on average there are 10-12 patients per night, with 2 patients per technologist. My room was very nicely appointed like a hotel room, with an ensuite bathroom (shower, toilet with toilet paper). Shampoo, conditioner, soap, 2 washcloths, 3 thin rough towels, and wrapped plastic cups are included in the room. You need to bring your own Q-tips, hairdryer, toothbrush, and toothpaste. The faucet has a built in filter, so if you forget to bring your own drinking water, it's no problem. My technologist has worked at several sleep labs for 25 years as a traveler all over Northern California and she said this facility was the nicest and the only one with private bathrooms. There are also facial tissues, a pull-out recliner, a regular chair, a closet, blackout curtain, and an outlet for your charger. You can adjust the thermostat to your liking. The bed has a foam mattress with a fitted sheet, unfitted sheet, waffle blanket, thin duvet and 4 pillows. The sleep technologist is happy to provide more blankets, pillows, and earplugs if needed. There is also a call light next to the bed in case you needed assistance during the night. There was a small TV mounted in the upper corner of the room, and a remote by the bedside. A soothing print of Claude Monet's Water Lilies was situated on the wall at the foot of the bed. The most conspicuous object is the large camera pointed at the bed from the ceiling for the sleep technologist to monitor your movements while you sleep. In the middle of the room was a desk with electrodes, paste, and other supplies laid out for the technologist to set you up for the evening. The staff let me change into my pajamas and announced ~8:30 that they were going to place the recording devices on me at 9pm so that I can fall asleep after that anytime I desired. You're not hooked up to any machine on the wall so you can easily get up to use the bathroom during the night if you need to. By 10pm it was lights out. After speaking to you over the intercom to calibrate your devices, the technologist leaves you alone for the rest of the night. If a device moves itself out of place when you toss and turn, though, the technologist wakes you up to fix it. Wakeup time is 6:30am, and after the technologist disconnects all the devices, you can shower to rinse out the greasy paste in your hair from the EEG electrodes. (Tip: rinse with warm water only for 5 minutes first to dissolve the paste before adding shampoo.) Shower pressure was decent. After you shower, change, and pack, you just press the call light to be escorted to the front desk, and you're done. I finished ~7:40am. Experience was fun, seamless, & informative. All the staff I encountered were nice. If I needed to, I would definitely return!

On two separate occasions when I needed replacement CPAP supplies, it took MULTIPLE phone calls and MONTHS of delays before I could get them. Most recently, I was told that since my last appt was more than 2 years prior, their policy required me to first meet with Dr. K before they could order my supplies. Surprise - the first available appt was 3 months out. When I again called his office to get these parts, stating my urgent need given serious/extended Afib episodes, I was denied until I got my primary care physician to intercede for me. Oh and by the way, when I did finally have a less than 30-min (video only) appt with him, the bill was over $600, which IMO was not worth it.
