Warning - Dimitriu Will Call the Cops on You!…read more I was sitting in my house not bothering anyone or making any threats. I was not committing any crimes. I was not in danger. I was not bothering anyone else. This "doctor," Alex Dimitriu, called me at home and told me he was incarcerating me in a locked facility. I tried to talk to him to see what the problem was and address any concerns he might have. He arrogantly just told me "I'm not going to argue with you." The law was on my side and civil rights exist. I politely told this person that he technically could not legally do this to me. His response was to threaten to call the cops on me, weaponizing his medical license and the racial dynamics of the situation. Interacting with Alex Dimitriu left me feeling like the most helpless victim. He forced himself on me through "medical treatment" - involuntary incarceration. He spit on my right to due process - the one guaranteed by the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. Alex Dimitriu treated me like three-fifths of a person. I have been diagnosed with PTSD as a result of Dimitriu's aggression. I have not felt safe since he ignored the law, stripped me of my rights, and traumatized me. The professional psychotherapist I consulted (who is licensed by the state of California) called Dimitriu's actions "a disgusting abuse of power." I suspect but can not prove that he tried to hide his actions and this review from you, the reader. I've had to rewrite it once. Stay safe - stay away from Dimitriu! - Former patient

When reading Yelp reviews about medical clinics, just know that there's always two sides to every…read morestory, and due to privacy laws the medical clinic can't refute any information, so take everything with a grain of salt. That said, I had a good experience at Stanford Sleep Clinic. There are a lot of people with sleep issues, and I count myself included. Due to demand and not enough staff, Stanford Sleep Clinic has been booking out several months and at times are even unable to schedule new patients until they hire more staff or patients who haven't been seen in 3 years are automatically removed as current established patients. So, if you need to be seen with urgency, then you should go to a private practice. My sleep problem is mild enough that there was no urgency, and I was lucky enough to eventually establish care with a provider who was in training, who assessed me before the more established provider evaluated me herself. I was referred to do a sleep study. My at-home one was deemed normal, but I was still mildly symptomatic, so after getting corrective surgery I wanted to see if an in-lab sleep study would provide more insight, since it measures a lot more things like your brain waves, mouth opening/closing, leg twitching, chest and abdomen rise + fall, etc. Several months and an approved prior authorization later, I checked in on a Sunday night at 8pm sharp at Pavilion B at the Redwood City campus. There is a huge well-lit parking lot & parking structure on campus that is free and monitored by security. Due to construction until late 2027 or so (they're building a new building next door for more doctor offices), they closed off the parking closest to Pavilion A+B. It was surreal to see the parking lot so empty! I parked next to Pavilion C+D. There is an indoor walkway connecting C to B, but the entrance to C was locked. Instead of me walking outside the long way, luckily security happened to me patrolling just down the hall and they spotted me and let me in. The Pavilion B lobby is so beautiful, like being at a hotel. On the 2nd floor, I checked in & 5 minutes later I was called back by the sleep technologist, who led me down halls to my room. There are 18 bedrooms, but on average there are 10-12 patients per night, with 2 patients per technologist. My room was very nicely appointed like a hotel room, with an ensuite bathroom (shower, toilet with toilet paper). Shampoo, conditioner, soap, 2 washcloths, 3 thin rough towels, and wrapped plastic cups are included in the room. You need to bring your own Q-tips, hairdryer, toothbrush, and toothpaste. The faucet has a built in filter, so if you forget to bring your own drinking water, it's no problem. My technologist has worked at several sleep labs for 25 years as a traveler all over Northern California and she said this facility was the nicest and the only one with private bathrooms. There are also facial tissues, a pull-out recliner, a regular chair, a closet, blackout curtain, and an outlet for your charger. You can adjust the thermostat to your liking. The bed has a foam mattress with a fitted sheet, unfitted sheet, waffle blanket, thin duvet and 4 pillows. The sleep technologist is happy to provide more blankets, pillows, and earplugs if needed. There is also a call light next to the bed in case you needed assistance during the night. There was a small TV mounted in the upper corner of the room, and a remote by the bedside. A soothing print of Claude Monet's Water Lilies was situated on the wall at the foot of the bed. The most conspicuous object is the large camera pointed at the bed from the ceiling for the sleep technologist to monitor your movements while you sleep. In the middle of the room was a desk with electrodes, paste, and other supplies laid out for the technologist to set you up for the evening. The staff let me change into my pajamas and announced ~8:30 that they were going to place the recording devices on me at 9pm so that I can fall asleep after that anytime I desired. You're not hooked up to any machine on the wall so you can easily get up to use the bathroom during the night if you need to. By 10pm it was lights out. After speaking to you over the intercom to calibrate your devices, the technologist leaves you alone for the rest of the night. If a device moves itself out of place when you toss and turn, though, the technologist wakes you up to fix it. Wakeup time is 6:30am, and after the technologist disconnects all the devices, you can shower to rinse out the greasy paste in your hair from the EEG electrodes. (Tip: rinse with warm water only for 5 minutes first to dissolve the paste before adding shampoo.) Shower pressure was decent. After you shower, change, and pack, you just press the call light to be escorted to the front desk, and you're done. I finished ~7:40am. Experience was fun, seamless, & informative. All the staff I encountered were nice. If I needed to, I would definitely return!

The charge was for our son with autism who is short on communication. To pay the bill online I tried several times to register for his account but was consistently denied access. After many calls on hold I finally talked to a representative who was cranky and dismissive and learned it was not possible to register for his account, nor order equipment upgrades until after 6 months of receiving his equipment. It's no wonder she was cranky as she probably deals with irate customers all day, who probably would not be irate if, for example, they knew up front about the 6 months wait for registration. Web programmers could easily provide this key information with a simple message. The web programmers, however, simply referred one to a phone number so one could be put on hold to speak with a cranky, dismissive representative. I finally stumbled by accident on an Apria link that allowed payment of the past due bill via credit card, without having to register. It's not just the punishing, 100% increase on the bill, nor the assumption that Apria is already royally gouging Medicare, nor going cheap on the web programmers, but the knowledge that Apria treats different customers differently really sticks in my craw. Here's why I say this. I too was issued similar CPAP equipment by Apria 3 months after my son and was automatically sent equipment replacement items like the hose and nose piece, 3 months later. I have not been billed for anything as has my son, and have not had to wait for equipment maintenance items. The only difference I see is that my Medicare provider is SCAN and my son's is AETNA. Apria, if you're reading this, I have provided a wealth of free and helpful information for you cheap, money grubbing bastards.

The one thing they are in business for and they fail miserably time after time. Look at every Apria location and you will find composite Yelp scores of 1 and 1.5 stars. Clearly they have a monopoly here as no executive or manager says. "Boy, we sure blew it today, perhaps we can do something better tomorrow." Again, this bloated, inefficient, incompetent company is responsible for PEOPLES HEALTH! They arent just some coffee shop that ran out of coffee on a Wednesday.

This momma was TIRED and needed time to get things done...or enjoy some time on the couch. I called Sleep Sisters and spoke with Melissa, I'm sure she heard desperation in my voice. It was my last resort (I'd read a few sleep books already), and she was so nice and helpful! She explained the science behind sleep and went over our current sleep schedule and routine. Melissa gave me a plan, complete with exact times and gave me some options as far as soothing my daughter. I loved that she left this part up to me to decide. She also helped me with starting to wean her, which I thought would be impossible. Turns out, it was pretty easy after all. Within a week, my baby started sleeping 12 hours a night (knock on wood) and will go down for naps with very brief crying. Sure, there are days that she will not nap - but she's still in her crib playing quietly. That NEVER happened before. I hope that in the next week, we will get her naps on par with our nights. But in the meantime? I'll enjoy it! Thank you so much Melissa. You saved me, seriously. I was beginning to wonder if I would ever consider a second child. There's now a glimmer of hope.

They took a large number of x-rays. When they found out that I had another insurance policy as well, she decided to take even more x-rays. The work plan clearly would finance a new car. Couldn't believe the amount of decay that was discovered by this dentist and needed work. This reminded me of over 40+ years ago, my now wife, went to a dentist for an emergency and that dentist agreed to treat her, if she would come back for needed polishing of her amalgams. My old dentist didn't see these issues. I went to a new dentist a year later, who took new x-rays. This dentist, also a woman, is not on my dental plan; but is highly recommended. I had one cracked filling that needed to be repaired. Most of this was not covered by insurance; but turns out this was MUCH less money and much less impact to my mouth. Given the research I had done and the recommendations I had received, you can tell that I'm EXTREMELY disappointed in Lucy Hua's office.
