Dr Lucy Hua: I can NOT recommend. I did significant research and she came to the top of the list; but I went to see her. In her office, she had another dentist see me. They took a large number of x-rays. When they found out that I had another insurance policy as well, she decided to take even more x-rays. The work plan clearly would finance a new car. Couldn't believe the amount of decay that was discovered by this dentist and needed work. This reminded me of over 40+ years ago, my now wife, went to a dentist for an emergency and that dentist agreed to treat her, if she would come back for needed polishing of her amalgams. My old dentist didn't see these issues. I went to a new dentist a year later, who took new x-rays. This dentist, also a woman, is not on my dental plan; but is highly recommended. I had one cracked filling that needed to be repaired. Most of this was not covered by insurance; but turns out this was MUCH less money and much less impact to my mouth. Given the research I had done and the recommendations I had received, you can tell that I'm EXTREMELY disappointed in Lucy Hua's office. My teeth and mouth are in much better shape in not going to her practice! read more

I remember a time when going to the dentist was a dreaded event. Not anymore since I started coming to Jay and Lucy. Jay always makes my visits fun and his confidence and knowledge make it easy to lay back (literally) and trust it will get done well without any worry or doubt. I needed impressions for a mouth guard because I'm grinding my teeth down like a beaver on wood, but I have a horrible gag reflex. The first two tries didn't go well - couldn't stop the gag reflex. But Lucy came and gave a few tips to help and within a few minutes, the impressions were done. I'm really grateful to them both and feel fortunate that I found a wonderful dentist who is the first to actually make me excited to go. read more

Dr. Hua and Dr. Gu and were simply amazing. Dr. Hua performed a deep cleaning on me and I barely felt a thing as she was very skilled and gentle in the whole process. Dr. Gu is very personable and knowledgeable in his assessment of my teeth. I personally had many bad experiences previously with dentists which is what deterred me for going to the dentists for many years. However, my opinion changed after a visit to the office. Very knowledgeable, honest and super nice dentists. They take Covid very seriously. I feel safe the whole time I was there. Plenty of parking too. Let's just start by saying I'm really scared of the dentists and HATE needles (but who doesn't?) so I am generally very critical of any dentists I go to. Soft, gentle hands is what I always look for and they both are! I'm so glad I found Jay and Lucy as dentists I can trust. They explained my treatment plan in depth, gave me options (I never felt like I was pushed to do anything I don't want to), and consequences of no treatment (what would happen in a certain timeframe if I chose to not do anything given the problems I have in my mouth). Never thought I would say this but I loved my experience at Jay and Lucy's and look forward to my dental appointments now. Thank you Jay and Lucy for fixing my tooth in a pinch! About 2 weeks ago on a Friday evening, I was eating dinner with my family when my back left molar completely cracked in half. Like a big chunk of my tooth fell off (and I probably ate it...). This was a nightmare situation because it was nearly 7pm and I was scheduled to leave for a weekend getaway with my husband sans kids the following morning. What to do?? I started calling every dentist that was shown as "open" on Yelp but no one was available to see me right then and there. A close friend recommended I see Dr. Gu and Dr. Hua since it's been a while since I last had a routine cleaning. My company's new insurance programs didn't cover the dentist I've been seeing for years, so I needed a switch and decided to pay a visit.  My dentist Dr. Gu mentioned this practice was relatively new. I went in to get x-rays and a routine cleaning both which went fine. Dr. Gu explained each procedure very thoroughly and answered all the concerns I've had as I'm also currently doing Invisalign. I appreciate how they encourage their patients to ask questions since it shows they care.  Overall my visit was very pleasant and I got to know the doctors a little more as they told me about their dentistry program as grad students while I had my teeth cleaned. They did a great job during the actual cleaning, but the administration part was a mess, and the assistant who did the X-rays was quite unpleasant. I was recommended to this dentist by a friend who didn't have the same experience I did, so maybe they were just having an off-day. Due to the pandemic I was on the hunt for a dentist closer to home. I had a pleasant experience during my visit. Making an appointment online was super easy. Both Doctor Jay and Doctor Lucy followed up when I had questions and were easy to work with. My cleaning was with Dr. Lucy who had a gentle touch so my visit was painless. She explained everything she was about to do and was extremely knowledgeable. The office is clean and the staff is all very friendly. Both doctors are fairly young so it didn't feel like a stuffy, scary environment. Best dentist I've ever had. Dr. Gu is friendly and fun to talk to, but also very good at his job. The big difference between previous experiences I've had is that Dr. Gu explains what he's seeing, what it means, and how he's thinking about it. I haven't gone to the dentist for several years due to a pretty strong phobia of dental work. Recently, however, a filling of mine cracked and I had to get it checked out. Jay looked at it, and even x-rayed my whole mouth, and was incredibly informative and kind. While fixing my filling he could tell I had a lot of anxiety so he took it nice and slow and talked me through the whole process. He even managed to fit the new filling perfectly to my plastic retainer, which saved me a lot of money! Upon returning for a cleaning after a week he talked me extensively through a game plan for a tooth that might need more work. Typically I would be terrified, but Jay's knowledge and calm attitude assured me greatly. I highly recommend Jay and Lucy. Especially if you have a phobia of dental work! Dr. Gu and Dr. Hua are both fantastic dentists! They are very knowledgeable in their field and are so friendly. I had Dr. Gu during my two visits and he provided me with excellent care. I tend to get nervous at the dentist and Dr. Gu made sure that I was comfortable the entire time. He spends the time to explain what he is doing and why it must be done. Many dentists will not take the time to educate you like Dr. Gu does. I walked out after each visit with confidence knowing that my teeth have been provided with A+ service.
