WHAT WE LOVE: Aside from providing the knowledge and expertise that you come to expect from an M.D., Dr. Thygeson is a great listener, he makes himself available to his patients, he is respectful of parent's beliefs/decisions, and he genuinely cares about children (he's a dad himself). GREAT LISTENER: As first time parents, we had tons of questions and were (quite frankly) clueless as to how to care for a newborn child. During our many visits with Dr. Thygeson, he always took the time to listen and understand our questions and concerns before he jumped in to address them or make any recommendations. He also never rushed us. We frequently left his office satisfied knowing that all of our questions/concerns had been adequately addressed. AVAILABLE: Dr. Thygeson made himself available to us (both via phone and face-to face) from the moment we met him. All doctors say they are available, but as we all know, when push comes to shove you realize it's not true. This is not the case with Dr. Thygeson, he is true to his word. For instance, we were discharged from the hospital on New Years Eve and Dr. Thygeson asked us to come into his office for a check-up that same day (on a national holiday!). His office was closed that day, however he came in just for us and did this on several other occasions. RESPECTFUL: There are many decisions that we had to make as new parents such as whether to breastfeed and whether to circumcise. Dr. Thygeson never pressured us to do anything. Instead, he provided options objectively along with the pros and cons of each and let us decide how we wanted to move forward. He also provided us with helpful resources including access to a lactation consultant in his office (if we needed it). CARING: Dr. Thygeson is not only a doctor, he is a dad and it is clear by the way that he handles our son that he truly cares about children. Additionally, as a parent himself he understands the joys and struggles of being new parents, so he also frequently checked in on us (especially mom) to make sure we were doing okay. NICE OFFICE: There are multiple clean patient rooms and a friendly/helpful front office staff and 2 waiting rooms (one for healthy children and one for ill children), which made us feel better about bringing our newborn in. They also have a great electronic patient records database because during each visit, our son's statistics are taken and compared to the national averages along with a trend-line so we can track his progress from previous visits. Our boy is 2 months old now and he is healthy and getting bigger and stronger everyday. Dr. Thygeson has given us invaluable advice and worked with us on a personal level to help us manage the difficulties of being first-time parents. I was able to call in and ask questions over the phone, she is pleasant and very knowledgeable. It help saves time and $30 copay when she was able to review and advise me with the lab results over the phone. She can also relate well with my daughter since she is a female doctor and was able to cover a lot of topics sometime teenage daughters do not want to express with their families. Reason why for the score is the long wait time to be seen. I'd say they have a lot of patients and the best time is to sign your name in ASAP after their 1:30 lunch. I tried my best to sit and wait for them to open right after lunch so I can be the first one seen in the afternoon. It's tough when you're on a time crunch and will typically take longer than 1/2 hr at times to be seen which is inexcusable.

It was a scary 2 weeks. Not only did Dr. Cohan himself call me back after i had after hour questions, but he called me back with minutes, and after 10pm on 2 different nights. His Vaccination contract was one of the many reasons i chose him, Having that added cushion of safety is nice when at the doctors. I dont care if he gets paid for it or not, Its not about the money, its about him standing up for something he believes in. Again, i love this about his office. And the staff have always been amazing. We have never had issues getting fast appts, or being put on hold for any unreasonable amount of time. They have always been friendly and helpful. The only issue I ever had was with the office and being able to schedule my sons when they are sick since COVID started. I never understood why I was never able to just make an appnt for my sons to be seen when they were sick and having to wait for a call back to be scheduled. There have a been a couple of times I would patiently wait for hours to get that call, and when I did I would be lucky if I could get in the same day. A couple months ago I finally had enough of dealing with that process and had to resort to taking my son to urgent care when he was really sick because I did not want to have to wait for a call back to be scheduled for an appnt, not knowing if my son would be able to be seen in a timely manner. Fast forward to today..... Called Dr. Harts office around 2:00pm and was actually able to schedule an appnt without waiting for a call back!!!! There was no provider available to see my son at the Citrus Heights office but was offered a virtual visit over Zoom with another provider from another clinic (something else that is new as I have never been offered to schedule with another clinic for these urgent concerns). Was able to see the provider by 5:15pm and have my son prescribed Zofran to help him be able to keep food and liquid down. Was also given great homecare advice to keep him from getting dehydrated, and out of the ER. If it wasn't for this amazing change I may have had to take my son to urgent care with an emisis bag to get him the help he needed ASAP, possibly exposing all those people to COVID (yes, he tested positive). THANK YOU Dignity, and Dr. Hart's office for improving the process of scheduling for your patients. I am one happy Mama!

Like what is that?? aren't doctors supposed to see sick patients when they're actually SICK and not when they're a week out from being sick. Dr Gould's Staff very helpful and some of them even seen all of my kids grow up. Now my granddaughter get to be a part of the PMA patients and visit Dr Gould. The new location is wonderful and more room I'm glad for PMA. Love the fish tanks !
